Chapter 15 - Arrival Of The Astryn:

A battlefield millions of years old, named Euralups, located within the timeline of Millennia — a place that has witnessed endless warriors and countless battles.

It has a very dense atmosphere, a rigid structure, and many hills. Even during the day, no light touches Euralups — it is a battlefield forever drowned in darkness.

Shikiya is calmly standing on top of one hill, watching Itsuro fighting the Reegers. A few hours ago, when she was sitting in her office, the Skyward Society received a red alert:

"ATTENTION! RED ALERT IN THE EURALUPS DISTRICT! FORMATION C REQUIRED!"

She stands up and opens the door. Itsuro is already out there waiting for her.

She says:

"We're ready to go!"

He nods and starts following her. Now in the present, there are some Tyrneks — the third type of the Reegers, who have appeared.

Itsuro cuts one Tyrnek down and runs towards the other. His grip tightens on his katana as he slices through the second one.

One of the Tyrnek attacks him but Shikiya enters and blocks it. She jumps and slices this one.

The air feels heavy, the sand is flying, and one by one each Tyrnek is vanishing. After some time, they finish off every single one of them.

She starts walking and says:

"According to what I was told, Reegers have invaded the timeline Aeonic Dusk before Millennia."

He furrows his brows in shock and questions:

"But why would they go there?"

She replies:

"It remains a mystery."

He asks:

"Could it be because of the Eki Eki circle?"

She replies:

"Eki Eki is very limited, and most of it exists here, not there."

They were leaving when a small, round, black circle filled with electricity and covered in dim light traveled towards them.

Itsuro moves back and stops it with his katana. The circle blasts and covers the whole battlefield — which is infinitely large.

The rocks fall down, the dust flies, and the ground breaks and starts wrapping reality. Shikiya's eyes widen as she mumbles:

"E-Eki... Eki?"

She sees an Astryn — the first type of Reegers — standing at a distance on one hill. The Astryn has a human body and by gender, he is a male.

Due to the immense wind caused by the Eki Eki circle, his espresso brown hair moves, and his black eyes have no emotion left when he says:

"My name is Cirandro Del Candro El Curospa, and I am ranked as number one among all the Astryns."

She is in disbelief when she mumbles:

"C-Candro?"

Itsuro says to Shikiya:

"Could it be... Ishi gave Eki Eki to the Astryns?"

She replies:

"No, he didn't have any of them."

He says:

"But, he could generate his own."

She replies:

"He isn't in his prime right now. It would cost him his life a hundred times over to create one circle."

He mumbles to himself:

"It sure is an overpowered thing."

She grabs her katana and says:

"Quick! We will have to stop its reality wrapping, or else it will continue to consume everything forever."

He replies:

"Y-Yes, I know!"

On the other side, Aramitsu Daigo — Third Elder of the Skyward Society, is walking on a glowing line in an unknown dimension.

The dimension itself looks like a pathway to other worlds, but it contains nothing. He hears footsteps and looks behind, but there is no one.

He closes his eyes and sighs, speaking to himself:

"Guess I am hallucinating too much these days."

He moves his hand into a portal and pulls out the Varkyn — the one whose footsteps Daigo heard.

He throws the Varkyn in front of him. The Varkyn asks him:

"H-How could you do that?"

He replies:

"I can perform many other techniques, but I'd rather not waste my energy here."

The Varkyn says:

"Haha! I'm the strongest one here."

He nods and says:

"Cool."

The Varkyn falls on the ground and repeats:

"Did you mishear? I said I AM THE STRONGEST... You should be shivering and begging for your life."

He replies:

"Fool. Do you think I'm some kind of powerless civilian here in this void?"

The Varkyn says:

"Huh? G-Good point. That's why you can survive here for so long."

He pulls out his katana and replies:

"Lemme show you why I never needed a right hand for myself. Before that, you must know my name is Aramitsu Daigo!"

The Varkyn says:

"And my name is Rorup Uilas."

Both smile before running towards each other. In the grand hall of the Skyward Society, Koto Amane — Fourth Elder — is sitting with her right hand, Akihisa Jirou — Fifth Elder.

The maid serves them two cups of coffee and leaves. Koto closes her eyes and says to Jirou:

"Traveling between timelines sure is crazy work. I am quite fatigued now."

Jirou nods while looking at some paperwork. He furrows his brows and says:

"You're certainly right."

She asks:

"H-Hey! What are you reading in these papers?"

He sighs and replies:

"This is the report of our mission we just finished. It proves my theory that we cannot find the Tenden Chamber which holds the material to create the Eki Eki circle."

She tilts her head slightly in confusion and says:

"Hmm? You didn't tell me we were going to find the footprints of Tenden Chamber."

He calmly replies:

"Oh, my! Even before this mission started, I had told you more than a thousand times."

She looks away and says:

"A-Alright! If you say so. Anyway, is there anything left for us to do?"

He shakes his head and replies:

"No! We have done what we could. You see, we both traveled in more than fifty dimensions separately. I don't think there's anything left behind."

She listens to him, he laughs and says:

"Weren't you scared while traveling alone, Koto? Haha... Haha."

She throws a pillow on his face and replies:

"I AM NOT S-SCARED OF ANYTHING!"

After some time, she asks him a question:

"What do you think... Why would the Reegers invade Aeonic Dusk even if there are no traces of Eki Eki?"

He replies:

"Yes, the circle doesn't exist there. But one thing is certain — they aren't chasing it. I feel like they've been following someone's orders."

She says:

"Following someone's orders? Hmm... Could it be their own king?"

He shakes his head:

"Why would their king order them to do such a thing? Instead, I feel like... There is someone closer to their king who holds enough authority to order them around."

She points her finger towards him and says:

"That's what I thought of when we received the red alert, but then I thought it was a dumb thought, so I let it go."

He smiles hesitantly and replies:

"Did you just say thought three times in one breath?"

In the Euralups, reality tears apart. Shikiya is trying to stop it when she says to herself:

"Oh, no! The power of this Eki Eki circle is increasing constantly."

Candro says:

"It is foolish to stop it from its sides. You both are unable to stop it and at this rate, it will get out of your hands in no time."

The plasma vortex surrounding the circle throws Itsuro backward. He flies behind, tries to land on the ground, but fails.

Through that tear in the sky enters Daigo. He jumps down and hits the top of the Eki Eki circle after saying:

"Roll 35, Section 43: KALEEKU!"

A large blast happens, the immense pressure throws Shikiya and Daigo away. Candro stands there — unfazed — as if nothing happened.

The Eki Eki circle, which is now half-broken, gets sealed inside the glass. The circle is still spinning in one position, and it is releasing immense power at a time.

Daigo stands up as Shikiya asks him:

"Are you alright?"

He nods as she asks:

"What did you do to the circle?"

He looks at it and says:

"I sealed it away. Didn't you hear what Candro said? It cannot be stopped from its sides. As far as I remember, Jirou told me that to stop an Eki Eki circle, one must attack from the top."

She replies:

"I see! That certainly was a really clever move."

He chuckles while scratching the back of his head:

"Hehe!"

She looks at Candro and says to Daigo:

"C'mon, now we still have him standing against us."

Daigo teleports and picks the Kaleeku — the name of the glass/seal. As it vanishes from his hands, he says:

"Alright! It's safe. Now we have to handle him."

Shikiya nods and replies:

"It sure isn't going to be an easy battle."

He sighs and says:

"We can't let him escape either."

Candro calmly says:

"Let's see how powerful the elders of the Skyward Society are."

The three of them run towards each other at speeds far beyond light. Three trailglows cut through the eternal dark — yellow, black, and espresso brown.
