As everyone knows, the faster an object moves and the greater its mass, the greater its kinetic energy.
Aatrox-a mech weighing over a hundred thousand tons-charging at that speed naturally carried terrifying kinetic energy.
Now, if Aatrox were treated as a normal object, the seawater as a giant container, and the Kraken as another object floating inside it, what would happen at the moment of collision?
Some conditions were missing.
Even if they were filled in, it would still be a basic physics problem.
So we'll skip the derivation.
We'll just state the result.
A monstrous shockwave erupted from the point of impact, spreading outward in all directions.
The Kraken didn't even have time to let out a cry.
Its mouth had been forcefully stuffed with an enormous object that pierced straight through.
The violent electric current clinging to the mech surged into the Kraken's body.
Combined with the high temperature and cutting power of the plasma laser sword-
With a single strike, the Kraken suffered damage it had never experienced before.
The reason it didn't die immediately was simple.
A creature of that size had multiple secondary brains controlling its limbs.
Although its primary brain had been completely destroyed, the secondary ones could still manage limited movement.
Of course-
That wasn't happening right now.
It still had to endure the electrical assault first.
A shrill hiss rang out as seawater was rapidly vaporized.
Steam rose.
Condensed.
Turned into dense mist that blanketed the sea.
The air filled with the stench of burnt squid.
A squid that had probably been dead for a very long time.
Rotten.
Burnt.
Indescribably foul.
Aatrox didn't stop.
He lifted the laser sword, split the Kraken open from one end, then seized the central mouth.
With calm efficiency, he began trimming the tentacles.
One by one.
Like cutting scallions.
Even with its absurd vitality, the Kraken couldn't survive this.
Its movements slowed.
Then stopped.
Far away, the rapidly sinking Flying Dutchman suddenly halted.
"What did you say?" Davy Jones closed his eyes, communicating with his other "pet."
"A fatal danger?"
That Kraken had somehow sensed the fate of its kin and warned him.
Davy Jones fell silent.
Then turned the ship around.
He was curious.
What kind of existence could kill a Kraken?
More importantly-
According to the information passed to him, Tia Dalma was present.
And the Kraken had been summoned by her.
It had been many years since he'd last seen his goddess.
Even after hatred.
Even after carving out his own heart.
Even after betraying her in turn.
His feelings for Calypso still ran deep.
If he had a chance to see her again-
He wanted it.
"Now," Aatrox lowered his head.
He released the Kraken's corpse, which only twitched faintly, and looked at the water-based entity reforming on the sea surface.
"Do you have any other tricks?"
"You now have the capital to negotiate," Tia Dalma said.
"We can make a deal."
As a god, her standards were high.
But years of sealing had taught her something important-
How to assess reality.
Morin was a spellcaster.
He possessed overwhelming power.
And that mech was something she couldn't handle in her current state.
Even if she could win-
The cost would be catastrophic.
At least, that's what she believed.
Some beings can't be reasoned with.
You have to show strength first.
Only then will they listen.
There's a saying-
You read to reason with people calmly.
You train to force people to reason with you calmly.
Morin released Jack onto a small boat, set it on the water, stored the mech, and boarded as well.
"Boss?" Jack spoke up.
"What?"
"I... don't want a ship anymore," Jack said hesitantly, pinky raised.
"Can you give me one of those things instead? Even a small one?"
Mechs were a man's romance.
Jack had been hit right in the weak spot.
"Absolutely not," Morin refused without hesitation.
He didn't even want to imagine a majestic mech in Jack's hands.
It would be an insult.
"Then how about I pay you to build one?" Jack persisted.
Morin: "..."
Using the salary he paid Jack to have Jack pay him back.
A perfect closed loop.
At that moment, Tia Dalma's water form landed lightly in the boat.
This time, she behaved.
"A fascinating creation," she said.
"So powerful, yet without a trace of magic. How did you make it?"
"It's physics," Morin replied.
"Very simple."
Tia Dalma: "..."
I don't know what physics is, but I know you're mocking me.
"With such power," she said, changing topics,
"why cling to magic?"
"Would you ever think you had too much power?" Morin asked.
"...Hahaha!" She laughed.
"Good point."
"I'm worried I have too little," she continued.
"So-your terms?"
"The same as before," Morin said.
In theory, the winner should demand more.
But Morin knew better.
This wasn't her full hand.
They were negotiating because both sides understood the cost of escalation.
A balanced deal was best.
"Fine," Tia Dalma nodded.
"Give me his body."
"I'll give you all the magic knowledge I possess-and information on the other gods."
"A contract," Morin said.
"I am a god. I do not lie."
"I prefer insurance," Morin shook his head.
"Written terms protect both sides."
"...F**k."
She cursed suddenly.
"Hm?" Morin raised an eyebrow.
"Someone's coming," she said.
"I need to leave. I'll return once this is settled."
Without waiting for a reply, her form collapsed-
Into water.
Which promptly drenched Jack again.
"...This," Jack looked down at his soaked clothes and sighed.
"At least she didn't slap me."
"I'm more curious how you managed to provoke her," Morin said, activating Aura of Justice.
"Are you serious?"
"Well... I was drunk," Jack admitted, wiggling his pinky.
"And she used an illusion. You know how she looked before."
"She wanted me to help her."
"And you didn't agree?" Morin was surprised.
"No, I did," Jack pouted.
"Then I backed out."
"...That tracks," Morin muttered.
"Row. Back to the ship."
After returning, the terrified soldiers finally regained their composure.
Frozen sea.
Thawing waters.
Dark clouds.
Thunder.
A massive wave.
To them, it felt like an apocalypse.
If they'd been closer-
It would have been.
"Sir... shall we set sail?"
The vice admiral's hopeful gaze made Morin briefly wonder if he'd traumatized them.
Then he remembered-
They'd just been spectators.
To participate, you needed strength.
As he thought that, Morin finally understood.
This wasn't another god.
Calypso had fled from Davy Jones.
The moment Morin sensed a ship rising from beneath the sea, it clicked.
She was hiding from him.
Which meant-
She wasn't very good at cheating yet.
A true cheating woman should cheat right in front of her target without a care in the world.
Calypso wasn't there yet.
You're not qualified.
"Still," Morin said, ordering the ship to move,
"I have nothing to discuss with him."
Davy Jones wasn't worth much.
The submerging ship magic was interesting-but Calypso would know it.
Why chase seeds when you had the watermelon?
Unfortunately, Morin didn't seek Davy Jones.
Davy Jones sought him.
A ship burst from the sea.
Barnacles.
Sea creatures.
Crew warped beyond recognition.
The Navy raised cannons instantly.
Anyone would feel threatened.
Davy Jones, however, didn't know Morin was aboard.
All he knew was-
Whatever killed the Kraken had already left.
Which wasn't wrong.
Aatrox was stored.
Sensing Jack Sparrow nearby, Davy Jones came straight over.
Jack had once worked for the East India Trading Company.
Released slaves.
Lost the Black Pearl.
So he made a deal.
Davy Jones raised the Pearl.
Granted self-repair.
Thirteen years as captain.
Then one hundred years of servitude.
"Jack Sparrow," Davy Jones said, approaching.
"Long time no see."
"Your ship looks... nice."
"I still have time!" Jack said.
"I know," Davy Jones replied.
"That's why I'm not killing you."
He was just curious.
"Did a battle happen nearby?"
Jack leaned sideways and glanced at Morin.
Morin nodded.
No reason to hide it.
"I'd like you to meet my boss," Jack said theatrically.
"Mr. Morin."
"He's the one who killed that big octopus!"
"...Your boss?" Davy Jones looked at Morin.
"You know we have a contract."
"I do," Morin nodded calmly.
"Since we've met," he continued,
"let's resolve it now."
