Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: Shopping

"For a new adventurer entering the Dungeon for the first time, this is indeed quite a lot," Eina said as she explained.

She had never seen a newcomer harvest this much on their very first run.

"If you don't mind me asking, Mr. Emiya, how far did you go today?"

"The eighth floor."

"What? The eighth floor?!" Eina blurted out.

She was genuinely stunned.

Reaching the eighth floor on a first trip was far beyond normal. Was he really a new adventurer?

But the name Emiya was completely unfamiliar to her, and she had personally handled his registration. There was no mistake. He was a brand-new adventurer.

Still, this result was unbelievable.

Then Eina's gaze shifted to Tiona.

Everything suddenly made sense.

Tiona was a first-class adventurer from the Loki Familia. With her protection and support, it wasn't strange for a newcomer to reach the eighth floor.

Most of the magic stones were probably gathered by Tiona as well.

With that explanation, Eina finally accepted the situation.

"Please wait a moment, Mr. Emiya. I'll exchange these for you right away."

After a brief inspection, Eina returned with a bag and placed it on the counter.

"We've finished calculating everything. This is your reward. A total of 96,000 Valis. Please check it."

"Thank you," Emiya said with a nod.

He didn't bother counting it.

The Guild wouldn't cheat an adventurer. Especially not one from the Loki Familia.

There was no need.

"All things considered, the Dungeon is an extremely dangerous place," Eina said after a moment's hesitation. "I hope you'll be careful, Mr. Emiya. Especially since you're a new adventurer. Life is precious."

She felt it was necessary to say something.

She couldn't stand the thought of another life being lost in the Dungeon due to arrogance or carelessness.

Other Guild advisors might have grown numb to it.

They saw too many adventurers come and go. Too many deaths.

Over time, their passion faded.

But Eina hadn't reached that point.

"I will," Emiya replied.

He didn't tell her that he had only entered the Dungeon to experience what it was like, and that he likely wouldn't return again.

Still, he appreciated her concern.

After leaving the Guild, Tiona grinned and asked, "So what now, rookie? Heading back to the base, or going shopping around here?"

"There's somewhere I want to go," Emiya replied.

"Oh, got it. Then good luck, rookie! I've got my own stuff to do. See you!"

She patted his shoulder and disappeared before he could say anything.

Emiya smiled and didn't try to stop her.

He knew very well why Tiona had accompanied him.

She had only gone into the Dungeon with him because Riveria had asked her to.

Otherwise, a first-class adventurer like her would never act as a babysitter for a mere level one.

Even with the strong bonds inside the Loki Familia, they wouldn't waste a level five adventurer like that.

Adventuring was a life constantly balanced between life and death.

If you died, it meant you weren't strong enough.

Or you were too reckless.

Once Emiya was safely out of the Dungeon, Tiona naturally had no reason to stick around.

Half an hour later, Emiya arrived at a bustling commercial street in the Labyrinth City of Orario.

It was the same place he had first arrived in this world.

He quickly found his destination, tucked away in a corner of the street.

"Can I get a serving of fried potato balls?"

That was right.

This was why Emiya had come.

When he first arrived here, this very vendor had given him directions to the Loki Familia's base.

He had promised to support the business in return.

Now that he had money, he intended to keep that promise.

"Hey, it's you, kid!" The vendor's face lit up when he saw Emiya. "Looks like you became an adventurer!"

"Thanks to you, I joined the Loki Familia."

"Haha! That's incredible! That's the strongest Familia in Orario!"

Even though he wasn't an adventurer, the vendor knew exactly how famous the Loki Familia was.

It wasn't a place just anyone could join.

"Alright, kid, here you go. Fried potato balls."

"Thanks." Emiya paid, took a bite, and gave a thumbs-up. "Delicious."

"Haha! If you like them, eat more! And make sure you come back again next time!"

"I will," Emiya said. "Don't worry."

After saying goodbye, Emiya continued down the street at an easy pace.

Ever since the gods descended, Orario had grown into a leading city over the years.

He had never really had the chance to explore it properly.

Now that he did, he decided to take his time.

The wide streets were clean and orderly. Shops lined both sides.

If not for the architecture and the fantastical races passing by, Emiya might have thought he was walking through a modern city.

The reason was simple.

Orario was incredibly prosperous.

As the only city capable of exporting magic stones, it had accumulated unimaginable wealth.

Combined with the presence of countless Familias and adventurers, it gave rise to this miraculous city.

In this world, the Labyrinth City of Orario was truly unique.

And it would remain that way.

Unless another Dungeon appeared somewhere else.

Which was impossible.

There was only one Dungeon in the entire world.

With tens of thousands of Valis in his pocket, Emiya's gaze drifted toward a weapon shop.

After a moment's hesitation, he pushed the door open and walked inside.

Inside the display cases were all kinds of weapons.

Every single one of them had an eye-watering price tag.

Emiya was stunned.

The cheapest weapons cost several hundred thousand Valis.

With only 96,000 Valis to his name, he suddenly felt painfully poor.
