Nen-ability?
The first thing Andy thought of was the Nen-ability Team that had defeated Mai Shiranui's team.
So he asked directly, "What's the relationship between Nen-ability and the Nen-ability Team?"
Mai Shiranui explained, "All the members of the Nen-ability Team can use Nen-ability."
Andy was startled. "That ability where those two women were covered in black-was that Nen-ability?"
"That wasn't Nen-ability. That was Haki," Mai Shiranui shook her head. "Nen-ability is the power to control life energy. Once you learn it, you can develop a unique ability based on your habits and personality. You can think of it as a kind of superpower."
Andy was even more shocked. "Superpowers can be learned?"
"Nen-ability can."
"You can use it too?"
"Yes."
Andy hesitated for a moment, then asked, "Mai... are you willing to give this ability to me?"
Mai Shiranui paused and didn't answer immediately. "Emiya gave me this ability. I can ask him. If he agrees, I'll teach you. Emiya is a very nice person. I'm sure he'll agree."
Emiya liked hearing that.
He was indeed a nice person, but he wasn't the type to give something like Nen-ability away for free.
Even though he had spread Nen-ability widely within the chat group and let many people learn it, that didn't mean he didn't value it.
In most worlds, Nen-ability was a genuine path to greatness. Calling it priceless wasn't an exaggeration. In ancient times, it would've been no different from an immortal cultivation technique.
Of course, Emiya wouldn't hand it to Andy casually, even if Mai Shiranui asked.
But if Andy was willing to pay a price, Emiya wasn't stingy.
Working for him for a few years would be enough.
What Emiya didn't expect was Andy's reaction.
Andy's expression turned ugly. "Mai, tell me the truth. What's your relationship with that Emiya? Why would he teach you Nen-ability?"
Mai Shiranui obviously couldn't tell him that Emiya had decided to teach her after seeing her body.
If she said that, their relationship would be finished on the spot.
So she said, "Emiya and I are friends. Very good friends."
"Friends?" Andy clearly didn't believe it.
"Mai, we've known each other for so many years. I know all your friends. This Emiya guy just appeared out of nowhere, and you expect me to believe you're just friends?"
Mai Shiranui's temper flared. "You don't believe me? Andy, are you doubting me?"
"I'm not doubting you."
"That's nonsense. You clearly are."
"I'm not."
"Then look me in the eye and say you're not doubting me!"
At this point, Emiya really wanted to complain.
Things had been fine a moment ago.
Why did it suddenly turn into a soap opera?
It was ridiculous.
But Emiya didn't step in.
He wasn't stupid. With the two of them arguing like this, getting involved would only make things worse.
So he decisively pulled Medusa away and chose another route.
Their problem was theirs to solve.
He continued walking with Medusa.
Time passed quickly.
Before he knew it, it was afternoon.
After enjoying some quiet time with Medusa, Emiya returned to the tournament venue.
At the same time, his phone vibrated.
He glanced at it and saw that Mai Shiranui had tagged him.
He already knew why, but he still replied as if he didn't.
"Do you need something?"
Mai Shiranui answered, "I have a question. Can I teach Andy Nen-ability?"
Emiya sent a few OK emojis. "Of course. No problem. But there's a condition."
Mai Shiranui felt relieved at first, then her heart skipped a beat. "What condition?"
Emiya didn't answer directly.
Instead, he typed, "You know what kind of ability Nen is. You can ask others about the conditions for learning it."
Before Mai Shiranui could respond, Loki spoke first.
"Emiya's a member of my Familia, so I got Nen-ability for free."
Hephaestus followed. "Emiya is my friend. I got it for free too."
Hestia nodded. "Same."
Haruhi Suzumiya chimed in boldly. "We're all friends. Of course we learned it for free."
Shizuka Hiratsuka couldn't help complaining. "I worked really hard to learn Nen-ability. I even offered myself and promised to marry him."
Emiya calmly replied, "That's complete nonsense."
Hayato Furinji answered honestly. "Ryozanpaku agreed to three unconditional requests from Emiya every year in exchange for Nen-ability."
Mikumo Kushinada sounded envious. "That's a good deal. I had to become Emiya-sama's subordinate and work for him unconditionally."
Ubuyashiki Kagaya, who had been silent, suddenly appeared. "The Demon Slayer Corps joined Hephaestus-sama's Familia. That's how we were allowed to learn Nen-ability."
Shinobu Kocho followed. "Good afternoon, Ubuyashiki-sama. Since I'm not part of Hephaestus-sama's Familia, I paid the Demon Slayer Corps' thousand years of savings to learn Nen-ability."
Ubuyashiki Kagaya replied calmly, "Good afternoon, Shinobu. I'm glad you're safe."
Mature added, "I'm learning Nen-ability as Emiya-sama's secretary."
Vice followed. "Same here. I'm also his secretary."
Mai Shiranui understood immediately.
"So if Andy wants to learn Nen-ability, he has to become your subordinate?"
Emiya thought for a moment. "For your sake, I'll give him the same deal as Ryozanpaku. Three requests per year. They can accumulate. Don't worry-I won't ask him to kill, destroy things, or do anything against his morals."
Mai Shiranui hesitated. "I'll talk to him."
Emiya added, "He can also choose another path."
Mai Shiranui froze. "Another path?"
"Join a Familia. Loki Familia, Hephaestus Familia, or Hestia Familia. If he joins any of them, he can learn Nen-ability. That's our agreement."
Aqua's eyes lit up. "He must join my Axis Cult! If he does, I'll get Emiya to teach him Nen-ability!"
Kazuma Satou was stunned. "Are you really Aqua? Since when did you get smart?"
Megumin nodded seriously. "This is terrifying."
Aqua protested angrily. "You two are too much! I'm the Goddess of Water!"
Hestia said awkwardly, "Sorry, Mai, but my Familia is mostly chefs. I can't accept Andy."
CĂș Chulainn commented, "Joining Hestia Familia isn't easy anyway. So it's either Hephaestus Familia or Loki Familia. I'd suggest Loki Familia. Hephaestus Familia is mostly blacksmiths."
Loki replied calmly, "I'm fine with it. If Andy wants to join, I'll allow it. It'd be even better if Terry and Joe joined too."
Rin Tohsaka suddenly asked, "Is there a Hecate Familia in Orario? I want to join that."
Medea chuckled. "You want to be my junior sister? There's no Hecate Familia in Orario. And Orario's magic system is completely different from Magecraft. You should give up."
Emiya concluded, "Those are the options. Ask Andy what he chooses."
Mai Shiranui replied, "I understand. I'll tell him."
Emiya nodded to himself and left the chat.
He put away his phone and turned to discuss the match order with CĂș Chulainn and Heracles.
"I'll go first," CĂș Chulainn said confidently. "I want to fight that hungry wolf."
"Terry probably won't go first," Emiya replied calmly. "He's the team captain. He'll likely be last."
"That's fine. I'll fight until he comes out," CĂș Chulainn said, clearly not considering Andy or Joe a threat.
And realistically, they weren't.
Emiya turned to Heracles. "What about you?"
"I don't care," Heracles replied.
This match meant nothing to him. No one in the tournament could threaten him.
Seeing that, Emiya nodded. "Then CĂș Chulainn goes first."
CĂș Chulainn smiled brightly.
Soon, the matches began.
CĂș Chulainn was the first to step onto the stage.
He pointed his cursed spear at Terry.
"Hey. How about coming up and fighting?"
Terry's eyes flickered.
Ignoring Joe and Andy's attempts to stop him, he stood up and walked onto the stage.
CĂș Chulainn's grin widened.
His mana surged violently.
"As expected of the hungry wolf," he said.
"Let's have a good fight."
