"Feraligatr, dive down and haul it up!" Ash commanded Feraligatr while straining to hold the rod. "Wani!"
With a splash, Feraligatr leaped into the lake. "Wani!" Not long after, Feraligatr was blasted back onto the shore by a massive jet of water. The giant, century-old Whiscash finally revealed itself!
"Wow! It's huge!" Brock, May, and Max exclaimed in astonishment.
[Whiscash] [Gym Leader - Late Stage]
"Wani!" Feraligatr, having been blasted onto the shore, was clearly not amused and wanted a serious battle with Whiscash!
Ash smiled slightly. "Mr. Suzumura, let me try first, how about that?"
"No problem, you hooked it! But if you catch it, would you consider letting me have it? I'll trade you a special, long-lost Poké Ball, a secret weapon I've been saving for fifty years!" Suzumura replied.
"Deal! I'm not interested in Whiscash anyway! Go, Feraligatr!" "Wani!"
Whiscash leaped out of the water and landed on the ground with a heavy smash!
A wave of earth rushed toward Feraligatr. "That's Earthquake! Feraligatr, jump and use Ice Beam!" "Wani!" Feraligatr soared into the air, condensing an icy blue beam in its mouth and firing!
Whiscash spat out a gigantic water sphere. CRASH!!
"That's Water Pulse! This Whiscash is incredibly strong!" Max exclaimed.
"Ash is definitely going to beat Whiscash! Go, Ash!" May cupped her hands over her mouth and cheered for Ash.
"Feraligatr, Crunch!" Dark-type energy surged in Feraligatr's mouth as it charged at Whiscash, but Whiscash used Tackle, using its massive body to send Feraligatr flying back!
Whiscash stuck out its long tongue to mock Feraligatr. "Wani~" Feraligatr glared at Whiscash, and a blue-white light of evolution suddenly engulfed its body!
"What is that?!" (x4)
"It's starting to evolve!" Ash said, smiling.
Feraligatr's body grew massive, and its appearance became incredibly fierce. Its huge teeth made it look like a Dark-type Pokémon, but Feraligatr is purely Water-type.

Ash smiled as he looked at the Master Ball in his hand. Trading a 1,000-point Heavy Ball for a 10,000-point Master Ball was a huge win. As for the giant Whiscash? Ash didn't want it; while the giant Whiscash was formidable in the water, it was a sitting duck on land and not suitable for him.
"Waa haa haa, I can't believe you twerp fished up the giant Whiscash! Hand over the giant Whiscash quickly!"

Team Rocket arrived above Ash and his friends in their hot air balloon!

The Mist Mountain and the Future
After leaving the lake, Ash and his friends entered another forest. As dusk fell, the forest was gradually shrouded in a thick fog! They were attempting a shortcut, crossing the notoriously foggy Mist Mountain!
Suddenly, Ash's Aura seemed to sense something. "Wait for me here; I'm going to check over there!"
"Hey, Ash! The fog is so thick; don't wander off!" Brock called out, but Ash was already gone. In this pitch-black environment, Brock and the others couldn't find where Ash went!
Following his Aura, Ash arrived beneath a hollow tree, where a song was being sung—a chilling sound in that environment!
Ash saw a woman sitting beneath the tree, wearing a cloak and sunglasses, resembling a member of Team Magma!
The woman stood up and walked toward Ash. "Lord Ash!" the woman said respectfully to Ash.
"Huh? You know me?" Ash asked.
The woman nodded. "Yes! I'm returning this to you!" At the same time, she handed a bracelet to Ash!

A giant pillar of light rose from the altar, and the woman finally revealed her identity as the future Cletus. She encouraged Cletus to pursue her dream of becoming an archaeologist!
