There were no gunshots. No closing walls. No scent of uncertainty. The feeling of stealing something that could never truly belong to you wasn't present either.
Valentina opened her eyes, and smiled.
"My first morning in France," she chuckled, as she rolled out of bed.
The plan she had for the day was simple. Do nothing.
She couldn't go anywhere yet for fear of being followed, so she decided to make the most of her time indoors, doing absolutely nothing.
First she freshened up in the bathroom, and then she changed into something light, free and flowing.
She rolled her hair into a bun, but it was too thick, so she just let it flow.
Next, she began to tackle arrangements. Since she was going to stay in the apartment until she found her own place, she needed to make it a bit comfortable for her.
It took her one hour, but she loved the result of the room she considered her temporal abode.
Her stomach rumbled. It was an unusual experience.
