Valentina slept and woke up, then slept again, and woke up.
Still, they were in the air, flying without breaks.
"Do you want to play some chess? You know to keep us occupied?" Ross drew closer to her when he saw she had awakened again.
"I guess, why not?"
She sat up as he arranged the chessboard.
"I'm a champion at this game, by the way." He gave her a heads-up.
"Good for you," she replied bonelessly.
Ross paused and looked at her again. "Are you mad at me?"
"I don't have the strength for that. I just really miss my babies," she replied.
"Hey, at least now you know that you'll be able to see them again. With the queen, you probably would have been dead by now."
She forced a sarcastic smile. "Then I guess I owe you my life."
"Don't patronize me, Val," he chuckled.
"Let's just start the game. I'm tired of talking."
Respecting her wishes, they began to play.
"So do you think Luciano has given up on finding you?" He asked a couple of minutes into the game.
