Chapter 12: Na'er is a dragon, Dragon race is Fanatical Authoritaian, Na'er is a dictator?
"I don't know. If you want to ask about it, ask my real body. He knows better than anyone why he likes to play this kind of game. I'm just a spare consciousness that descended to this planet." Elysium rolled his eyes as he answered this stupid question.
The whisperer stopped and didn't ask any more questions. Either he had already gotten the answer he wanted, or he was looking for it.
Probably the former. He asked this question, and it would reveal the secret of why his real body played this game.
"This is why dealing with The Shroud and psykers is so annoying. They can easily read someone's memories and steal important data and hidden knowledge."
What, is there a problem if I'm a psyker? If you closed your mind and refused to be a psyker just because of your pettiness, I wouldn't be here today.
After cleansing himself, Elysium sat staring at the world that looked like a twisted, spiraling geometric structure. There wasn't a single person or building he could recognize, not even himself.
Everything is in a spiral… and will return to a spiral…
There's no point in living in this world… as the spiral loves us…
"No…" Elysium shook his head and sat there silently. The side effects of getting closer to the immaterium were truly severe right now. His body, which wasn't even a 1-star psyker, was in complete disarray.
If the effects of the blank void of knowledge would fade over time, then the whisperer wouldn't disappear so easily. The whisperer's effect of getting closer to the immaterium's domain was truly like anchoring one's body to a single point, preventing one from retreating after moving forward.
"Something like this can only be done by someone who has reached the 7-star psyker stage in the galaxy. No, this kind of thing will never happen because the immaterium doesn't exist in this universe."
But the Whisperer of the Void directly gave him his power and became the bridge so he could draw closer to the Shroud. The only ones he knew who could do this were the Zroni clan, whom even conventional psyker measurements in the galaxy couldn't measure.
They are the precursors of the psychic ascendant, the first and pioneers of psychics, whose theories are still used today. The first and last of the true ascendants that caused the devastation in the galaxy.
The first race in the galaxy to discover the Shroud. The first race to utilize the Shroud, and the first race to be destroyed by it.
"According to data from the Federation and knowledge from the Whisperer of the Void itself, the Zroni could have built another Immaterium for their use if they so desired. But in the end, they perished before they could realize another Immaterium."
The degree of truth in this information is unclear, but the Whisperer of the Void itself stated it. So, the truth in it is very high.
"Eva, send me some medicine to ease this pain. Staring at the spiral all the time will drive me mad if it lasts any longer," Elysium spoke softly as he watched the sun, which had already turned into a spiral, and the sky, which had taken on a spiral shape.
Soon, a capsule appeared in his hand, and he swallowed it.
The spiral is gone… The world is no longer a spiral.
Elysium breathed a sigh of relief as he felt the visual hallucinations he had been experiencing were over. The headache and chaos in his brain had subsided. However, there was still an aftereffect, as his mind was forced to rise to a higher level.
He could feel his spiritual power still increasing because he had been connected to the shroud for some time. His connection and awareness, which had become closer to the Immaterium, continued to force his spiritual power to rise before slowing down.
After experiencing these changes, Elysium felt no sense of accomplishment and yawned in boredom. His purpose in coming to this world wasn't to become the strongest, or to show off his strength and face-slap villains.
He came to this planet to improve their technology and promote greater equality as an egalitarian faction within the federation.
"Let's review what I got from this harvest." Elysium got up and sat on the edge of the building, looking at Na'er, who was in the living room playing with Tang Wulin.
"So she's the co-leader of a soul beast? Are you kidding me? This little child?" Elysium frowned at how stupid the former soul beast leader, Di Tian, was.
Was his head kicked by a donkey, so he can't think straight? Or are all soul beasts like this?
If it were the former, then he could somewhat understand his decision to follow this little kid as their leader of a nearly extinct soul beast. The donkey must be a million-year-old soul beast that kicked Di Tian in the head for it to make such a foolish decision.
But if all the soul beasts truly followed them wholeheartedly, then they were truly blind morons and tried to elect an equally blind leader to show them the way.
"But this is good news. As far as I know, the dragon race is a race that adheres to fanatical authoritarianism. Their hierarchy is very clear, and those of lower status cannot refuse orders from those of higher status."
Similarly, they will only marry and have children with those of equal status. Only those of the same race as their own can befriend these fanatical authoritarians.
"Interesting... This means Tang Wulin's gene modification comes from the dragon race, or perhaps some other species equivalent to this co-leader of soul beasts. Or, perhaps he's not human, but some other creature similar to humans..."
Elysium reopened his Temp-pad and looked at Tang Ziran and Lang Yue's data. It said they had no direct descendants and adopted Tang Wulin, who was abandoned in front of their house one day.
So, the one who modified Tang Wulin's genes with a species equal to the co-leader of soul beasts already expected this to happen?
Did he know Na'er would come to this small town and bring the two together?
This is a worthy argument.
Elysium could see no feelings of superiority or wariness from Na'er toward Tang Wulin. Even in her eyes, she showed love for a man and wanted to capture Tang Wulin's full attention. Her face might have been able to hide her feelings, but her eyes showed everything.
Unfortunately, Elysium couldn't see the same reaction in Tang Wulin's eyes. Because of this, He was convinced that Tang Wulin was a gene-modified subject rather than having to reveal that he was mixed race.
"No, I have to somehow help these two get closer and fall in love. Even if it's a little forced and with a little help, they too can have a child, and I can see the results I want."
Elysium calculated the plan and felt that this was doable.
[Beep…]
[Elysium, you'd better go back and get ready. Tonight you have an appointment for your first formal dinner with your experimental subjects.]
"Oh, is it time already?" Elysium looked at the sun slowly setting in the west. He turned and left the building.
His Tam-pad returned to his inventory.
