Even though Luis would have wanted more sleep, his mother's will of fire blessing affecting her feathers wouldn't allow that. Luis woke up tired, still thinking about what happened yesterday. It took Luis a few moments after waking up to realise he wasn't on the edge of the bed anymore and he had a blanket over him.
'I guess mom or dad moved me.'
Luis did a big stretch while yawning and then sat up on the edge of the bed, Luis looked out the window. Luis was confused, looking outside. Compared to other days, when Luis looked outside, the sun was higher.
'Did mom let us sleep more since yesterday was a party and we went to sleep late? It doesn't feel like I slept more, though.'
Luis's morning routine was the same as every other except that today when Luis saw Kael and Lira in the bathroom it was a bit less chaotic and quite. They just gazed at each other silently. They didn't want to upset their mother again.
Breakfast was a little louder, because both his dad, grandfather, and uncle Raine were there, everyone was here today. Luis was surprised that he had expected his dad and grandfather to speak more to each other, but it seemed like they had built a bond where they didn't need to speak to each other as much.
After breakfast, Luis went outside on the lawn at the back of the house, which was built on the branch. At the edges of the lawn or the branches, there were invisible barriers. Luis had been told about this by his uncle Raine.
The barriers were there so no one would run or fall off the branches. Right now, Luis was looking down from the branches, and he could tell why the barrier was there. The tree was very far up, which made the fall look scary. Staring down, Luis wandered,
'Am I scared of heights, or does everyone get a bit scared when they see such a big fall?'
Luis stopped looking and walked to another branch on the tree this one wasn't the branch that led up to the house from the ground but it went higher diagonally. It was a big branch, if Luis walked in the middle of it he wouldn't be able to see down either of the sides of it. Luis would come here since it was not in view of the house. It was quiet and calm here. Luis could train in peace.
Luis sat on the ground on the branch in a cross-legged position, his hands resting on his knees. Luis took a few deep breaths with his eyes closed before opening them. After opening his eyes with his breath calm and steady,
Luis picked up a leaf from the ground. Luis infused the leaf with aura. Infusing the leaf with aura wasn't hard, but it was the next step that was hard. Slowly, threads of aura started appearing out of the leaf, floating in the air while attached to the leaf. The threads would still not move or behave in the way he wanted them to. Luis exhaled and stopped trying to form aura outside the leaf and just did it on the inside instead.
Luis then raised up his left hand, the hand he didn't pick up a leaf with. Luis inhaled and closed his eyes. His left hand was in the same position as his right hand was in as it held the leaf.
Luis focused on the aura in his body. On the stream of aura that went out of his right hand. Although blurry, Luis could picture it, what shape the aura took outside his body, even with his eyes closed, he could tell what the aura was infusing, how it moved.
Luis focused on the feeling, honing in on it, and then he tried doing the same with his left hand. An aura stream started flowing to his left hand from inside his body. The aura left his left hand. Luis tried to make the aura move the same way it was in his right hand.
Luis could tell right now that on his left hand, rather than just releasing small threads, he was forming a shape, but he couldn't tell what shape. Unlike his right hand, where he felt a more real connection to the aura while his eyes were closed because it was going to something organic, like the leaf.
Meanwhile the aura in his left hand felt shaky. He couldn't feel it as much. Luis kept going, trying to make the connection more stable, trying to mimic what he was doing with his right hand. Luis didn't want to open his eyes yet because he knew that when he looked at the aura forming, he wouldn't be able to improve on it.
When Luis closes his eyes and shuts everything out only focusing on his aura. He gets better at controlling it. That's why he didn't want to open his eyes right now. He wanted to make the shape of the leaf better.
After what felt like a really long time to Luis, he did the best he felt like he could. The shape felt more stable, connected, instead of just threads of aura that would float off, the aura felt solid.
Slowly opening his eyes Luis, looked at his left hand. He did it he formed a leaf made out of aura, it wasn't just infusing a leaf with aura. He actually made one of aura. The leaf was a bit rough around the edges and not as big in width as the actual leaf in his right hand but this was the farthest Luis had gotten. He felt accomplished. Proud of himself.
But the aura leaf was quickly shattered when Luis got distracted by the noise coming from in front of him.
"Wow, that's a unique way practicing," Renaros said genuinely surprised sitting in a wooden chair.
Luis slowly started up half expecting it to be Aunt Sera because that's something she would do, appearing out of nowhere even though he knew it was his grandfathers voice.
