Chapter 70 - Crowded Halls

The school halls was filled with life and Ellie gave Silas and look then

She didn't hesitate.

She walked straight up to Davon and Elise in the middle of the corridor and grabbed Davon's arm, pressing herself against him dramatically.

"Davon," she said weakly, "I have a headache. It's really bad. Can you take me to the nurse?"

Elise froze.

Something snapped.

"Let go of him," Elise said sharply.

Ellie turned, smirking. "Why? Are you jealous?"

That was it.

Elise shoved Ellie away hard.

Ellie stumbled back, losing her balance, hitting the lockers with a sharp gasp. A thin trickle of blood appeared beneath her nose.

The hallway exploded into gasps.

"

Elise—!" someone shouted.

Silas rushed forward immediately. "Stop—Elise—!"

But he never reached her.

Davon stepped between them in one swift motion, his eyes glowing with fury as he grabbed Silas and threw him aside, sending him crashing into a bench across the hall.

Silence.

Students stared in shock.

Whispers erupted.

"That girl tried to steal her boyfriend." "She deserved it." "Always acting innocent…"

Eyes turned on Ellie — not Silas.

Exactly the opposite of what she had planned.

Ellie's face twisted with rage as she realized it had failed. People were pointing. Laughing. Calling her names under their breath — cruel, cutting words that burned deeper than the shove.

Silas slowly stood, staring at Davon with cold disbelief.

Ellie clenched her fists.

This wasn't how it was supposed to go.

Davon wrapped an arm protectively around Elise. "Touch her again," he said calmly, dangerously, "and this ends very differently."

Elise's chest heaved as the adrenaline faded. She hadn't meant to lose control —

but she didn't regret it either.

Silas's jaw tightened.

Their plan had collapsed.

But his eyes flicked to Elise one last time.

And whatever burned there wasn't finished.
