The camp instructor clapped loudly, drawing everyone's attention.
"Alright everyone, partners are decided by whoever is standing to your left. You'll be sharing activities—and rooms."
A soft murmur rippled through the group.
A girl standing to Devin's left turned to him immediately, smiling. "Looks like we're partners."
Devin didn't even glance at her.
Instead, he stepped forward and pulled Anastasia into his arms, holding her close like it was the most natural thing in the world.
"I already have a partner," he said calmly.
The girl froze, staring at them, clearly stunned. Her smile vanished. Without another word, she turned and walked away, visibly angry.
Anastasia looked up at Devin, surprised, then smiled despite herself. He just tightened his hold slightly, as if daring anyone to question it.
Nearby, Patrica realized she was standing next to Lucian.
She blinked. "Wait… does that mean—"
Lucian smirked. "Looks like we're partners."
"And roommates," Patrica added slowly.
For a second, neither of them spoke.
Then Patrica's face lit up, and Anastasia squealed softly as she caught on. The girls exchanged excited looks, barely able to contain their happiness.
"This trip just got a lot better," Anastasia whispered.
Lucian shook his head with a small laugh, while Devin glanced at the girls, amused.
The camp hadn't even started yet—and already, nothing was going according to plan.
