Chapter 117 - Chapter 117 Complete

The crowd was buzzing, discussing, and curious about Zhang Jie's identity. After all, a newcomer who had never appeared here could steadily follow behind DK, which showed that his strength was not simple.

DK, however, knew very well that this guy was not just not inferior to him; if he hadn't suddenly slowed down a bit just now, that first place would probably have been his.

At the same time, he also became interested in this newcomer he had brought along. One must know that in this underground garage in Shibuya, there were not many drift kings who could surpass him, and this guy wasn't even a local, or even Japanese.

"Hey, what's your name?"

Although DK was arrogant and wild, he always treated people with strength with courtesy.

At least Zhang Jie had earned his respect.

"Zhang Jie, from America." Zhang Jie extended his hand with a smile, and of course, he would accept the goodwill offered by others.

DK also extended his hand. "Zhang Jie? A Chinese name? I'll remember you. Your skills are very good. Are you interested in joining us?"

Facing DK's invitation, Zhang Jie decisively shook his head. "I'm just here on vacation. I'm not interested in joining your gang, and besides, I won't be staying long."

DK didn't express any dissatisfaction with this; he understood. After all, the other party was an American and couldn't stay in Japan for too long. But how could such an interesting person be allowed to leave just like that?

"There's a race tomorrow night. Are you interested in playing? We can truly compete then."

DK invited Zhang Jie.

Zhang Jie glanced at Han, who was standing next to him. Han was eating snacks and nodding slightly.

"Of course!"

DK smiled, "Have fun!"

DK got into his 350z and drove away, while the remaining crowd enthusiastically surged towards Zhang Jie's position. They were very curious about Zhang Jie, an unknown newcomer who was on par with DK, the King of Drift.

The girls were more direct, openly flirting with Zhang Jie. Some bolder ones even wanted to approach him, but Zhang Jie pulled Han and directly got into the RX-7.

To be honest, he wasn't interested in these so-called girls, as he was still on a mission. Otherwise, he wouldn't mind having a friendly match with them.

After getting in the car, Han finally spoke to Zhang Jie: "I didn't expect you to have some tricks up your sleeve. Your driving skills are no worse than his; you really keep a low profile."

"Just a little bit..." Zhang Jie still appeared very humble.

Han, however, raised an eyebrow and said playfully, "Since your skills are good, then I won't have to operate from the back. It seems you've been accepted by him this time, so your mission will be much simpler."

Zhang Jie hadn't expected that just one race with him would reduce the difficulty of his mission?

"The things you need to get are actually in the 巽 Group, but to get those things, you have to break into the underground racing circle. And DK is the best breakthrough point."

Han explained, "Veronica probably didn't tell you what he needed to get, did she?"

Seeing Zhang Jie shaking his head, Han smiled, threw a snack into his mouth, and crunched loudly, "She really is as cautious as ever. The 巽 Group is the yakuza organization of this place."

After Han's explanation, Zhang Jie finally understood that the 巽 Group was an underground organization with a yakuza background, controlling parts of Tokyo's underground economy, including illegal racing and loan sharking.

Unlike traditional yakuza, the 巽 Group focused more on 'bosozoku' culture, consolidating authority through street racing.

"So, the things I need are in the 巽 Group?"

Zhang Jie asked.

"Yes, a silver briefcase. You need to take it to Seoul." Han explained lazily.

"So you're making me, a stranger in a strange land, travel from America to here, take that briefcase, and then go to Seoul?" Zhang Jie looked speechless. "I'm not some delivery boy or errand runner!"

But there was no other way. The mission had been accepted, and the favor had been received, so he could only do it honestly. But Zhang Jie had a premonition that this mission would probably not be that simple.

"Are the guns I asked for ready?"

Zhang Jie had already told Han about the equipment he needed that morning. Han shrugged, "They arrived long ago. Go back and check them out."

That's good. Without a gun on him, Zhang Jie always felt something was off, lacking a sense of security.

Following Han back to his customization shop, he walked inside to a warehouse where there was a black plastic box. As expected, the things he wanted were inside.

Opening the box, two glock 17s were embedded in the black foam, along with 6 standard magazines, a soft concealed vest, two quick-draw holsters, a Rugged Obsidian 9 suppressor, and a tactical dagger.

The Rugged Obsidian 9 suppressor's advantage is its ability to reduce noise to 128dB (with 147gr subsonic ammunition, close to a door closing). Its modular long mode (160mm) provides optimal silence (for night operations), while its short mode (90mm) offers portability (suitable for quick response). It also boasts excellent durability, with a titanium alloy body and stainless steel baffles, capable of withstanding full-auto Shooting.

The long mode was impossible to use, but the short mode was necessary.

3 boxes of 9mm ammunition, totaling 150 rounds, 2 boxes of JHP hollow-point ammunition, and 1 box of 147gr HUSH subsonic ammunition. These were all requested by Zhang Jie himself.

There really wasn't anything extra.

Han leaned against the doorway with his arms crossed, watching Zhang Jie inspect the weapons and equipment, a strange glint in his eyes.

What kind of person was this, who was good at driving and so proficient with firearms?

Zhang Jie quickly inspected the two glock 17s, and after quickly disassembling and reassembling them, he immediately began loading the 6 magazines with ammunition.

He held the magazine in his left hand, took a single round with his right, pressed the bullet with his thumb, and slid it in along the inclined lip of the magazine. For the last 3 rounds, the spring pressure increased, so he needed to adjust his finger position.

Zhang Jie took 13 seconds for one magazine, which was considered a relatively normal speed.

Soon, all 6 magazines were filled with 9mm ammunition by Zhang Jie.

Inserting the magazine into the glock 17 produced a soft click. Pulling back the slide compressed the recoil spring with a "squeak," then releasing the slide allowed it to return at high speed, and the firing pin spring and breech locking produced a "clang!" of metal collision.

After performing a few tactical maneuvers with the glock 17, Zhang Jie satisfactorily put the gun down. He then separated the two magazines loaded with subsonic ammunition from the hollow-point magazines.

He screwed the Obsidian suppressor onto the other glock 17, put on the vest, secured the two quick-draw holsters, and holstered the guns. Zhang Jie smiled contentedly.

"Good, now I feel safe again. I am complete."

Han, however, looked speechless. "You really look like a brute like this. Remember, unless absolutely necessary, do not fire your gun. This is Tokyo."

"Do I look stupid?"

Zhang Jie laughed.
