Chapter 88 - Mizuki's Malicious Heart

"With the start of the new semester, by the authority of the Academy's principal, I appoint Shinji as the Head Teacher of the faculty, and Iruka as the Deputy Head Teacher."

On the platform, Hiruzen, dressed in his ceremonial robes, announced the appointments of Shinji and Iruka to the teachers standing below.

Upon hearing Hiruzen's announcement, Shinji and Iruka ascended the platform together, then nodded in greeting to the many teachers below.

"With the start of the new semester, I am grateful for the support of all my colleagues in this role as Head Teacher."

As Shinji said this, the teachers below chuckled.

"Hokage-sama's trust will also be my motivation to move forward."

"Here, I also hope that this semester, everyone can continue to work hard."

"To nurture even more excellent ninjas for the village's strength and for the inheritance of the Will of Fire."

After Shinji finished speaking, he stepped aside.

To be honest, he didn't really like giving such speeches. It was not as comfortable as training. But he had no choice. Hiruzen insisted that he speak on stage and even personally attended to support him.

Below the platform, the teachers all applauded.

Then it was Iruka's turn to speak, but Iruka seemed a bit embarrassed.

Shinji patted his shoulder in encouragement. He then moved to the side and turned to look at the audience below. It seemed a few new intern teachers had been added this year.

Hmm?

Looking at the unfamiliar face in the crowd, Shinji was taken aback.

Mizuki?

He joined at this stage?

Regarding Mizuki, who in the original story lured Naruto into stealing the Scroll of Seals, Shinji had searched for him when he had first entered the Academy, but he had never heard of this person before.

When he asked Iruka, Iruka too shook his head, saying there was no such teacher. However, he did have such a friend and even asked Shinji how he knew such a person.

Below, Mizuki, with a gloomy expression, watched Iruka's stumbling manner. He was extremely displeased, thinking, 'He's just a pathetic guy.'

Not only did Iruka become a teacher a few years earlier than him, but now he had even leaped to become the Deputy Head Teacher of the faculty.

And the other one too!

Then, Mizuki's gaze turned to Shinji, to his excessively young face.

Shinji, receiving the gaze, looked back calmly. Mizuki immediately lowered his head.

He couldn't hold back already? He really is quite foolish.

Shinji shook his head internally.

In broad daylight, and Hiruzen was still nearby. If it weren't for the absence of Anbu in this hall, perhaps with that look just now, the Anbu squad could have directly apprehended him.

Hiruzen, however, calmly puffed on his pipe, taking everything in.

It seems the Anbu's energy has indeed been too dispersed recently.

However, now that Shinji is the Head Teacher of the faculty, he will leave it to him to handle.

After the meeting, Hiruzen gave Shinji a few instructions, then leisurely departed.

"Alright, Iruka, we should head back to the classroom, the students are still waiting." Shinji called Iruka, preparing to return to the school building.

"Iruka, wait for me!"

A voice rang out, and Mizuki, with a friendly expression, quickly ran over.

"Mizuki? You passed the teacher's assessment!" Iruka was first stunned, then spoke happily.

He had been too nervous on stage just now and hadn't noticed Mizuki in the crowd at all.

"Yes, I just applied a while ago." Mizuki first scratched the back of his head with an embarrassed expression, then looked at Shinji beside him.

"Head Teacher Shinji, please take care of me."

"Mm." Shinji looked at Mizuki thoughtfully, merely responding with a faint sound.

Mizuki asked with an innocent expression, "Head Teacher Shinji, I heard you only started leading a class last semester. I didn't expect you to become the Head Teacher of the faculty so quickly. Can you teach me?"

His voice was exceptionally loud, causing the other teachers who were about to leave to stop and turn to look when they heard Mizuki's words.

Shinji said, "It sounds like I'm quite fortunate, but if you have time, I think you might as well take a good look at how I usually teach students and work. Perhaps, it might give you some inspiration."

Shinji was helpless. Moreover, although his apprenticeship to Hiruzen was only circulated among the Jonin, within the Academy, who wouldn't know that his class had achieved first place in the grade?

And during the last semester, how many times did Hiruzen summon him alone?

Anyone with a bit of sense wouldn't resort to this tactic.

Didn't you see how those teachers who were waiting to watch the show all laughed when Mizuki said that?

"Let's go, Iruka."

With that, Shinji called Iruka to leave the place.

Originally, because Mizuki was gentle with people, he was considered a good colleague among some intern teachers, but now they all distanced themselves from him.

"Damn it!"

Soon, only Mizuki was left in the entire hall. At this moment, the expression on his face turned gloomy.

"Shinji, Mizuki, he…" Iruka followed behind Shinji, looking conflicted, and finally spoke after a long time.

"What is it?" Shinji turned around, puzzled.

Iruka was stunned by Shinji's demeanor, then explained, "Aren't you angry? Mizuki has always been quite gentle. I didn't expect…"

Shinji waved his hand and said, "Iruka, there's no need to dwell on unnecessary things."

He didn't really care much about Mizuki. At most, he would make use of him later.

"Within the Academy, what we should pay more attention to are the students themselves."

Shinji couldn't change Iruka's personality. This was Iruka's shining point itself, and it shouldn't be broken by a single pest. Moreover, saying more was not as effective as witnessing the facts later.

He believed Iruka was not a fool. With today's incident, he would more or less be wary of Mizuki.

Iruka responded with a smile, "You're mostly right."

Because their grades were different, Shinji and Iruka parted ways halfway.

Along the way, after greeting some teachers who waved at him, Shinji arrived outside the classroom.

As soon as he entered the classroom, Shinji asked with a smile, "Hello, everyone, did you all enjoy your vacation?"

In the classroom, Kiba, who had always been very outgoing among his classmates, spoke out, "Sensei, the vacation passed too quickly. I haven't even had much fun yet."

"Exactly!"

This drew countless students' affirmative responses.

Shikamaru, in the back row, twitched his lips, thinking, 'If you guys haven't had enough fun yet, then what are we, who have been training all this time, considered?'

Shinji said, "Although that's the case, with the start of the new semester, I think all of you should properly rein in your thoughts."

"After all, you only have five years left until your graduation."

Shinji thought he was quite malicious, hitting these little kids with such a move right in their first year.

As expected, as soon as Shinji's words fell, the classmates in the class all felt their lives turn bleak. It turned out that there were less than five years left until their graduation.

"So, everyone, open your textbooks. We cannot waste time." Shinji said with a smile, while opening the textbook on the podium.
