Inside Tsunayoshi's room, the quiet glow of a magic stone lamp spread across his desk, filling the space with a calm amber light.
On the desk lay a single sheet of paper covered in neat Chinese characters—
"Memory Worm," "Silent Beast," "Parasite Beast"...
They were all functional-type magical creatures he had once created.
"Beast Creation," he whispered.
In an instant, a thick, black-bound tome appeared in his hand. The metallic sheen of the cover gave it a weight that felt both ancient and powerful.
"Finally," Tsunayoshi murmured, smiling.
"For so long, I kept waiting for the divine artifact to respond to my expectations. But it turns out—it didn't need to. I just had to shape that function myself."
He shook his head slightly, amused at his own rigid mindset.
"Fixed thinking really does hold you back."
Opening the book, he examined the first page. The material was smooth, solid—like it had been forged rather than written. The cover bore no symbols, no engravings, nothing unnecessary. He liked that.
Clean, minimal, efficient.
The first inner page was divided into four categories:
Biological Type, Functional Type, Armament Type, and Puppet Type.
When he brushed his fingers over Biological Type, the pages flipped on their own, stopping on the very first creature he had ever made—
Sky Lion.
Beside the sketch were neat annotations:
"Can use Sky Flame to attack; capable of flight; can transform into a cloak or gauntlets."
"Sky Flame possesses the 'Harmony' property—able to forcibly alter the structure of matter, inducing petrification."
Tsunayoshi nodded in satisfaction.
That was exactly how he'd imagined it when he first created the Sky Lion.
He tapped his finger lightly on the page.
A soft glow bloomed—then a three-dimensional Sky Lion materialized on the table, feathers flickering with pale blue fire.
It looked exactly as he had envisioned it.
When he waved his hand, the creature vanished, erased as though it had been wiped away by an invisible eraser.
"Perfect," Tsunayoshi said quietly, a genuine smile tugging at his lips.
"With this Record Book, I can recreate my previous beasts instantly. No more time wasted on re-imagining every detail."
He flipped the pages again, the book pulsing faintly in his grasp.
"This must be the artifact's answer to my 'expectation,'" he mused. "Not a pure product of Beast Creation—but an evolved form shaped by the divine artifact itself."
He could feel the artifact's will intertwined with his own—an intelligent adaptation.
"Very nice. This cuts down the mental strain of real-time creation. I can finally use my creatures in live combat."
That had been his biggest weakness.
Creating magical beasts relied on imagination—and splitting his focus in the middle of a fight could be fatal. Until now, he had always pre-summoned his creations before battle.
But the Record Book changed that.
It allowed him to summon instantly—like flipping a page.
Though it still required preparation, the convenience and combat potential were leagues beyond what he'd had before.
"I'm no pure fighter," he muttered, running his hand over the dark pages. "At best, I'm a half-baked one. But as a summoner… this is where my real power lies."
With this, he could build entire armies in seconds.
He looked down at the glowing script, reflecting softly in his eyes.
"So both problems are solved," he said to himself. "The time limit for summoned beasts—and a proper catalog of all I've ever created."
He leaned back in his chair.
"Now comes the next step—strengthening myself. I have to find a way to return to that world… and more importantly, a way to travel between both."
He wasn't just planning to go back.
He wanted to connect the worlds—to create a stable passage between them.
He had left too much behind here. Too many bonds, too many promises.
And if the other world truly reached its end, this one would serve as the only sanctuary left.
"I can't abandon either," he whispered. "Both must be secured… or both will collapse."
His gaze hardened.
"Just like I told Finn—the one who decides everything is the one with the power to shape it."
All order, all faith, all rules eventually bowed before power.
Before he could continue that thought, a knock echoed at his door.
Knock knock knock.
Tsunayoshi blinked, breaking from his deep focus.
Maybe that was for the best—he'd been thinking too far ahead again.
He rose, opened the door, and found two familiar faces standing there.
Alicia—her red hair gleaming under the corridor lights—stood stiffly, her expression awkward and hesitant. Beside her, as calm and composed as ever, was Kaguya.
"Good evening, Tsunayoshi. Sorry for the sudden visit," Kaguya said politely.
"Not at all. Actually, you came at a perfect time," he replied with a faint smile.
He could already guess why they were here.
Loki had only just announced the sisters' successful promotion. Alicia and Kaguya visiting right afterward meant only one thing—curiosity about the power that made it possible.
"Come in," he said simply. "I think I know what you want to talk about."
The two women exchanged a glance before stepping inside.
Tsunayoshi's room was simple yet immaculate—so clean it looked more like a scholar's study than a warrior's quarters.
No dust, no clutter, no lingering sweat or iron smell.
From his dimensional space, he pulled out two large fruits and wooden spoons, handing them over casually.
"So," he said, settling back at his desk, "you want to know what kind of power Tiona and Tione received, right?"
Both women nodded eagerly.
The Record Book on the desk glowed faintly under the magic light.
