Chapter 56 - Hidden Glances and Reckless Hearts

The next morning, the studio buzzed with its usual rhythm, flashing lights, rolling cameras, and staff shouting cues. Yet, for Sara and Kairo, everything felt different. Something had shifted since last night.

Kairo sat in his chair, his expression composed as Selena spoke to him about the new advertising strategy. He nodded occasionally, pretending to focus, but his eyes? They had a mind of their own. Every few minutes, they drifted toward Sara.

She stood a few meters away, deep in discussion with Ben about the photo distribution plan. Her hair was tied in a neat ponytail, a soft blush still lingering on her cheeks. Every so often, she'd glance back, just a split second, and meet his gaze. The faintest curve of her lips gave her away.

Both of them wore turtleneck sweaters, hiding the marks of their sweet "crime" from last night. Zayn was at daycare while they were busy at the shooting set.

Richel appeared, all dressed up with full makeup, striding toward Kairo. Sara glanced at her as she approached. Kairo was in the middle of giving instructions to Selena.

"Hey," Richel interrupted.

Sara raised an eyebrow, amused. Kairo looked up at her and said politely,

"Please excuse me, I'm in the middle of something important." His voice held no room for her to stay.

Richel's smile faltered. "Oh… sure." She turned, the faint edge of irritation showing as she walked away.

Sara couldn't help the small victorious curve of her lips. She didn't say a word, but the satisfaction was written all over her face, seeing how he ignored Richel just like he promised her.

After a while, Sara excused herself and walked toward the washroom. Kairo's gaze followed her as she moved away.

A while later, Sara excused herself to the restroom. Kairo's eyes flicked up, following her as she disappeared down the corridor. His fingers tapped the armrest. That mischievous glint returned.

The restroom door clicked shut behind her. Sara sighed, adjusting her hair in the mirror. Her mind was still replaying flashes of last night, his warmth, his voice, the way he whispered her name like a secret prayer.

But her quiet moment vanished the instant someone entered hurriedly, the door slamming shut. Before she could turn, she was pinned gently against the tiled wall.

Her eyes widened. "Kairo..."

He only grinned, one hand braced beside her head, his breath warm against her skin."What the fuck are you doing here? This is the ladies' washroom!" she whispered harshly, glancing toward the stalls. "If someone sees you..."

"I missed you," he murmured, eyes gleaming.

"Idiot, someone's..." she started, but froze as the sound of a flush came from the next stall. Her heart jumped. In a panic, she grabbed his collar and yanked him into the nearest stall, shutting the door with a soft click.

They stood there, barely any space between them, her hand clamped over his mouth. She could feel his quiet chuckle vibrate against her palm.

As the other woman washed her hands and left, silence filled the room again. Sara exhaled, turning toward him, only to find those green eyes fixed on her like she was the only thing that existed.

"Kairo…" she whispered warningly.

He tilted his head, voice low. "You really think I came here to talk about marketing plans?"

She tried to push him away, but he didn't move. "Behave, asshole! This is the office, and your stupid ass is in the ladies' washroom!" she hissed, trying not to laugh.

He only smiled, that boyish, dangerous smile. "I don't care. I don't mind if someone sees us. I'm just here to love my wife. I'm not committing a crime," he murmured against her ear.

"You're my boss here. Act like one," she whispered sharply. "If someone catches us—"

"Then they'll know I have the most beautiful wife on the planet," he said simply.

She tried to push him away, but he didn't budge; instead, he pinned her gently, smirking.

"I missed you, darling. Don't push me away," he whispered.

"Idiot… You might be my husband, but that doesn't give you the right to barge into the ladies' washroom to… love me. You're my boss here. Act professional, fuckboy. And if we get caught, I'll be the one shamed, not you," she snapped.

He just smiled. "Whatever… Right now, I miss you. I need compensation," he said, leaning closer.

She glared, trying to push him back, but he ignored her and pouted.

"How can you… At least let me kiss you?" he whined.

"This isn't the right place, idiot…" she whispered.

"Will you, or should I?" he demanded.

Sighing, defeated, she pulled him toward her. His grin widened. Before she could protest, he captured her lips, devouring her in a hungry kiss, his hands wrapping around her waist.

At first, she resisted, but soon she gave in, kissing him back, softly, fiercely, forgetting where they were.

When they finally pulled apart, both were breathless. Her cheeks were flushed, lips swollen, eyes glaring. She slapped his chest lightly. "Wanna kill me?"

He laughed, rubbing her back, comforting her. "I'm sorry, baby… I just couldn't help it. You're so addictive. Are you okay now?"

She straightened, finally relaxing. He looked at her, concern in his eyes. "You really okay, baby?"

Instead of answering, she pulled him closer, pressing her lips to his in another heated kiss. He smiled, surprised by her boldness, wanting him even when it felt reckless. This time, he kissed her back gently, holding her softly, savoring the moment.

As they pulled back, a thin string of saliva connected their lips. He rested his forehead against hers. "I love you."

She smiled, her eyes sparkling. "I love you more…"

He pressed one last kiss to her lips. "Damn… why can't I kiss you all day?"

She laughed, slapping his chest lightly. "Greedy ass."

"I'm making up for all the nights I couldn't hold you," he said quietly, voice low but tender. "All the lost time… all the apologies I owe you. I just want to live them now, all at once."

"I want to be that college-going asshole again, the one only tamed by my soda glass," he said slowly, his green eyes glowing with intensity.

She looked at him, breathless. "You… we will…"

He smiled and pressed a soft peck to her lips. She smiled back, lost in the moment… until a group of girls suddenly entered the bathroom, chatting loudly. Her eyes widened in shock.

Kairo grinned. "Looks like your husband might get arrested for love."

She glared. "Don't you dare make a sound."

He leaned closer, whispering near her ear, "Too late to regret it, soda glass."

"Shut up," she hissed, trying not to laugh.
