Blake conglomerate ~ Adrian's Office
The morning sun cut through the tall glass windows of Blake Conglomerate's executive floor, staining the marble tiles with a cold, pale light. The air smelled faintly of polished wood and expensive cologne, crisp and clean, the kind of scent that warned that mistakes were not tolerated here.
Adrian sat behind his desk, posture straight, one hand loosely holding a pen while the other rested over an open file. He didn't rush. He didn't need to. Every movement he made was slow, precise, the kind of quiet control that made men twice his age fold in his presence.
Stephen stood across from him, reading from a digital tablet.
"…the hotel project in Dubai has finalized their contracts. The preliminary design teams are already in transit. They are requesting your physical presence for inspection before proceeding to phase two."
Adrian didn't look up. His voice was calm, clipped.
