After literally flying through the stairs, she reached ground floor, hands in pockets and cap lowered on her head.
Her apartment is not in a secluded place, just on early times of the day and nights , the alleyway remains almost barren.
Since this is yet evening, some people are still at the streets.
Anning goes to her usual shop to buy the requested eggs. When she was selecting the eggs, she felt someone staring at her.
When she turned, eggs still in each hand, she was met with a familiar pair of eyes looking at her own.
That person with familiar pair of eyes got caught off guard and flusteredly lowered her eyes.
Anning chuckled involuntarily and said," Oh ! What's up?"
Baizhi walks towards her smiling, still flustered and replied," I thought, it was you. I'm just here to buy some noodles. "
Baizhi continued," My mom sent me here. "
Anning said, patting her shoulder," Same here. "
Then they both started chatting about their assignments.
After half an hour, Anning's phone rang. "Where are you? The shop is just ten minutes away. " Her grandma's voice sounded from the other side.
" Coming, coming. Just met a friend here. "
Anning replied from this side , at which Baizhi made an unreadable face.
Then after hanging up, Anning reluctantly bid goodbye to Baizhi.
Baizhi said," Mhm hmm. My mom might be searching for me too. Bye."
They both froze when their eyes met again. Anning averted her gaze and went from there without stopping in between.
Baizhi seemed to see something flickering in Anning's eyes. She turned again to see the spot where they were standing before.
After some moments of hesitation, she went to the billing area for the bread which had been forgotten by her till now.
Finally reaching her apartment, Anning handed over the eggs to her rightful owner and went to her room to change.
While changing, she thought about her conversation with Baizhi just now.
Not long after, the sun started to set on the horizon.
Anning after completing her homework and taking a short nap, went to the kitchen to help (make) her grandma make dinner. Time passed by quickly as she beated the eggs, then fold frying it in the curry gravy.
Since, the rice was boiling, Anning quickly washed some vegetables to make salad from them.
Then she strains the rice and put all dirtied utensils in the kitchen basin.
As the clock struck at eight o'clock, Anning completes the last garnishing by adding chopped corianders and scallions on the omelette curry.
Suddenly the door bell rings. Her grandma opens the door and welcomes three persons --- one man with gaunt features, strict expression and handsome visage ; one lady, who has amiable expression, pretty cute features and talkative vibe ; the last one was a young boy of age between fourteen to fifteen. He also has similar features to lady in between but he was sturdy and taller than her.
Anning comes after her grandma too and bows and touches feet of the man and the lady, with a smile that reaches her eyes. The young boy and Anning eyed each other, then rolled their eyes at the same time.
The man said," Let's not stand on ceremony in here. Let's go. "
The lady and Anning laughs then everyone goes inside.
" Looks quite the feast." The lady commented upon seeing the dining table full of steaming foods. Anning and grandma smiles, then grandma beckons everyone to the table.
The luggage quickly got shifted to their rooms already cleaned up by a specific someone, and after freshening up everyone takes a seat at the table.
Everyone chatted happily during the dinner. After the food, they all went to their own rooms except the lady and Anning who was helping the lady in cleaning the dishes.
Anning says to the lady," Mother, I will do the dishes. Go sleep after this long journey."
But her mother insisted on doing the dishes, so Anning just went to her room after washing the eating plates and and glasses.
Barely after ten minutes, the door of her room was abruptly opened and the boy, who was her respectable brother barges in.
He throws something at her on the bed and then leaves with a hmph.
Leaving the door open.
Anning just stared at the door and his leaving back in speechlessness.
What the fu*ck ! Just raid my room already. I'd have to again get used to it.
Then she looked at the object thrown at her. It was a palm sized box , simple designed; after opening it she found a bead bracelet and a simple chain locket.
The bead of the bracelet was murky white, alternatively between purple beads having galaxy like look.
The locket was simple and elegant; simple chain with a tiny butterfly made of shining stones as pendant. She was quite pleased with these and soon forgot the bad blood just now. They finally brought her something she likes.
That was probably sent by her mother and may be chosen by his brother, since he is the best to understand her.
Her brother's name is Tianchi. He is the only person who can understand her best except Baizhi. He also knows some of her secrets that even Baizhi didn't know.
Just some siblings thing.
That's what Anning thinks.
She quietly put the bracelet and necklace in the box again, and then placed the box inside her personal drawer along with the other gifts , her parents, teachers and friends had given her.
She treasures every gift given to her by anyone, specially parents and her brother.
She was in a good mood so she picked her phone and after opening Baizhi's chat , clicks on her profile picture.
