After gaining his composure Miras sat across from Theo and Dennis with one leg slightly forward and the other moving up and down on its own, His golden eyes wandered watching Theo and Dennis like they were aliens.
Theo shifted uncomfortably under the gaze.
Dennis didn't move at all as he was too staring at Miras with the same gaze
"Alright first understand my question with as much certainty as you can."
Miras's voice was abit on edge which was unlike him
Theo exhaled slowly. "Okay but what is going on just now you were saying your going to die"
Were was a pause
Miras leaned backwards just a little "Well to begin with am without my wings or in any fighting condition and in a place I have never heard of before."
Dennis coughed at that "You had wings?," he said calmly. "That's… would mean your not human."
Miras's eyes flicked to him.
"Of course am not human," he said almost insulted by the comparison. "I am Miras Nightingale"
The went silent as Theo and Dennis exchanged a glance of confusion and looked back at him "What is a Nightingale?"
That alone was enough of an answer which made Miras red as a tomato as this is tye second time no one knows who a Nightingale is
He crossed arms as his fingers tapped lightly against his arm.
"That's not important right now," he said. "And your supposed to answer my questions not the other way around."
Theo chuckled slightly. "Of course mi lord Nightingale where are our manners."
Miras's expression was one of embarrassment
"Shut up" Miras said.
Dennis shook his head at the exchange "Anyways what do you want to do."
"Because as far as certainty goes we are in Hollowreach thats for sure," Dennis added as his tone became more analytical. "I can't tell anything past that is certain"
Miras went quiet for a moment then his gaze sharpened "Mattias."
Theo's shoulders tensed slightly "What about him?" he asked.
"Where is he?"
Theo hesitated and looked down on the ground while answering.
And that was all Miras needed to see.
"We… don't know," Theo admitted. "He probably left with my dad."
"Left?" Miras repeated.
Dennis nodded. "With Dr Levin."
That name meant nothing to Miras as he could careless but the situation did made it that he had too
Two to disappear without a trace wasn't normal one bit
"Do you know any reason Why that happened?" Miras asked while putting hand on his chin.
Theo shook his head. "I don't know."
Miras leaned back slightly rocking his chair back and forth as his eyes closed and his thoughts began to try and connect this wide situation his now in.
Mattias… gone without o explanation.
In a place too good to be true what could have happened that made both of them just decided to leave
He opened his eyes again.
"How do you leave?"
Theo blinked and showeda face of worry.
Dennis didn't answer immediately.
"…you want to leave?" Theo said.
"Yes," Miras said. "An existing or escape Whatever you call it."
A glance was exchanged between the two and then Theo finally said
"You need the key for the barrier to do that."
Miras didn't react.
So Theo the continued
"There are two keys one with Old man han that leaves in the outskirts of here and the other with my Dad."
Theo added quietly, "I've had used it to sneak out which is where I met Mattias and you."
But something in Miras's gaze shifted.
"Why did you dad have one the keys," he murmured.
No one answered.
Because they hadn't given it much throught
Dennis spoke first, breaking the tension alittle "Probably because his a Doctor or something," he said
Miras didn't by it "are you sure or you don't know either"
Theo looked confused as well "I honestly never questioned it before"
Miras closing his eyes for a moment sighed "Anyways do you have the key with you"
Dennis scratched his head before answering "He probably took it right Theo"
Theo nodded "He had it in his pocket since he didn't want me taking it again"
Miras looked like he could drop dead at any moment and had a face filled with shock "Well that was unexpected"
Dennis tilted his head slightly "How so"
Miras looking away slightly "I expected find it and then leave and never come back but I now have to stay longer"
Dennis and Theo were surprised but could understand why he felt like that "well there is still the key with old man Han"
Miras looked back at them "and where is this old man"
Theo placed it a map on the table
Miras looked down.
Buildings clustered together. Open areas. Pathways. Sections that looked like districts, even if they weren't labeled as such.
A few other places had marks including a place far from the others called old man Han's farm
Miras leaned forward slightly and studied it, his eyes traced the lines slowly.
"This is hand drawn" he said.
Dennis nodded. "Poorly too."
Miras's gaze went to some empty spaces.
He looked up back at the two
"You said there are… monsters here correct?."
Theo stiffened slightly as a reflex.
"Yeah," he said. "That's what I have just been shown today."
"Today?" Miras repeated.
Theo scratched the back of his head. "I kinda wasn't able to see them till today"
Miras stared at him as tried understanding what his implying and for a moment he said nothing at all
But then looked every concerned
"You're either very lucky," he said flatly, "or very blind."
Dennis let out a quiet breath.
"As in my case I recently started seeing them as well about afew months ago," he admitted while looking exhausted.
Miras's fingers tightened slightly as he tapped his chicks.
"So let me get this right there are things out there that I can't see but can harm me at will if they so please" he said tensing up as he went on
Both Theo and Dennis swallowed hard
"And my one and only why to even consider survive till I get a key from some old man is two kids," Miras as he continued he almost instinctively was starting to grin
Theo and Dennis were getting abit nervous at this turn of events
