Chapter 307 - Chapter 307: Trial of the Heart, A New Test.

The reason Ray chose to leave was that the system had also returned to normal.

It informed him that a new mission had begun.

[So'unga - Trial of the Heart]

Based on the current timeline, the Earth Sword known as Sounga had already fallen into Inuyasha's hands.

After Inuyasha returned to the Sengoku era, he would inevitably carry Sounga around, and there was a high probability he would encounter Rin.

This was something Ray could not allow.

Because when he returned to the Demon Realm, the Sesshomaru of this world temporarily disappeared.

He's the only one who could protect Rin.

As for why Sesshomaru disappeared? Because two identical individuals cannot exist simultaneously in the same world.

After awakening another batch of memories, Ray roughly understood his identity.

Sealing his memories and power was a form of training meant to mend the flaws in his heart and become stronger.

Once he returned to that world, all his lost companions would be fully resurrected.

Not in this illusory Demon Realm that seemed real yet wasn't.

As for why he chose to train in the One Piece world, Ray's memories of that part had not yet returned.

He guessed it was likely related to spiritual training.

After all, the emotional value those companions brought him was quite good.

In the memories he had recovered, almost all were filled with loneliness and regret.

No longer dwelling on the past, Ray pulled his thoughts back to the present.

Time to begin the trial.

The most domineering sword among the Three Swords of Heaven, Earth, and Man, So'unga!

Bone-Eater's Well.

A crimson light shot straight into the sky from the well.

Accompanying it was the slowly emerging figure of a red-clad, white-haired individual.

Inuyasha.

In his right hand, he held a slender, sharp sword.

Strangely, dozens of tentacles extended from the hilt, piercing into Inuyasha's arm and corrupting his right arm into something resembling a demonic hand—bloody and terrifying.

At this moment, Inuyasha's eyes were blood-red, clearly having his Demonic Power awakened by the demonic sword, putting him in a state of losing control.

Soon after, Inuyasha charged into the village wielding the 'Sounga'.

The demonic sword Sounga, one of the three swords of Heaven, Earth, and Man, was bloodthirsty and brutal.

Under its control, Inuyasha was about to carry out a merciless slaughter.

Ray, flying at high speed through the air, naturally sensed this familiar presence.

The Tenseiga at his waist began to tremble.

After observing his own weapon, Ray let out a cold snort.

After returning to this world, the Tessaiga that had merged with Tenseiga had disappeared.

In its place were only the healing-powered Tenseiga and the demonic sword Tokijin.

This was the exact same configuration as Sesshomaru in this time period.

Clearly, this trial of tempering the heart had to follow the same old path.

However, the current Ray was not the Sesshomaru of the past; he even felt some anticipation at the prospect of seeing Inuyasha and the others again.

But the most important task at hand was to ensure Rin's safety.

If anything happened to Rin, Ray's plans would be meaningless.

Half an hour later, Ray flew over a forest about 10 kilometers away from the Bone-Eater's Well.

Looking down, the entire mountain forest was pierced by a canyon about 500 meters wide.

The canyon retained a very sinister and bizarre aura, likely left behind by Sounga.

At the same time, Ray clearly detected the scents of Rin and Jaken.

Near them was another familiar scent—Inuyasha.

After pinpointing the locations of the three, Ray swiftly descended.

"Ah, Sesshomaru-sama!"

Seeing the familiar figure, Rin excitedly ran toward Ray. "You scared me! I thought something had happened to you."

Rin hugged Ray's leg, speaking in a coquettish tone.

The action startled Ray, causing him to shudder!

After calming down, Ray inwardly smiled wryly.

It seemed his influence on this world's Sesshomaru was quite significant.

He had already allowed Rin to make physical contact with him so quickly.

Though it didn't seem related to romance, Sesshomaru showed no resistance to Rin's behavior.

Otherwise, how could Rin have hugged him so skillfully?

Jaken also looked excited, chattering loudly to Ray. "Sesshomaru-sama, just now Inuyasha was holding a strange sword and slashed a dark red tornado that split this canyon open! This old servant doesn't understand how a half-yokai like him could obtain two such powerful Demon Blades."

Looking at the little yokai before him and recalling certain memories, Ray's gaze unconsciously softened.

"No matter. I will handle it." His calm voice gave Rin and Jaken a great sense of security.

But Rin suddenly noticed something unusual. "Sesshomaru-sama, why did you change your pants? And there's blood on them."

Hearing this question, Ray's lips twitched almost imperceptibly.

'Damn.'

He hadn't changed his entire outfit, and the little girl had noticed the details.

Well, the best course of action was...

"Do not ask unnecessary questions. Protect yourself." With that, Ray flew toward Inuyasha's location.

Left behind, Rin pouted and grumbled: "Sesshomaru-sama is acting so strange today."

Jaken was puzzled: "Why do you say that?"

Rin thought carefully for about ten seconds, then let out a surprised exclamation.

"Could it be that Ray-sama has returned?"

Jaken trembled upon hearing this. "My goodness, how thrilling! But you do have a point. The way he looked at me earlier was clearly unusual. I've never seen Sesshomaru-sama be so gentle before."

At this moment, Rin gave Jaken a puzzled look. "Sesshomaru-sama has always been this gentle."

Hearing this, Jaken grew even angrier. "That's only towards you!!! Damn it Rin, you're showing off, blatantly showing off!"

"I'm not! Rin is just telling the truth. Grandpa Jaken is being petty!"

As the two argued, a rumbling sound suddenly erupted from two kilometers away.

Exchanging glances, they both decided to go see what the commotion was about.

"Rin, you've grown up. You need to protect yourself."

"Grandpa Jaken should worry about himself! You're so short, be careful not to get crushed."

Subsequently, Jaken wore an irritated expression while Rin maintained her innocent look.

The two slowly approached the battlefield.

...

On the jungle mountain ridge. Ray had already drawn Tokijin and was engaged in battle with Inuyasha.

"Put that weapon down." Ray spoke coldly to Inuyasha.

Whether influenced by Sounga or not, Inuyasha completely ignored Ray's demand despite his demon blood not boiling.

"If you want this sword, come and take it with your own hands."

Ray's heart turned cold upon hearing this.

'You damn mutt, you dare to disobey your older brother!'

'Today I must teach you what it means that an elder brother is like a father.'

''Soryuha.''

Seeing Ray unleash his ultimate move, Inuyasha flew into a rage.

Swirling energy gathered around the demon sword in his hand.

''Gokuryuha.''

A 500-meter majestic azure dragon collided with a 500-meter diameter underworld tornado.

The area within five kilometers became turbulent with wind and clouds.

Rin and Jaken were violently blown backward.

Had Jaken not plunged his Nintojo into the ground and held onto Rin, the two little ones would have been sent flying.

This shows that Jaken isn't as useless as in the original anime.

After all, he's a yokai, and the Nintojo is somewhat of a divine tool - how could he not have any means of self-protection?

But what happened next was beyond what Jaken could handle.

In the distance, the terrifying demonic power of Gokuryuha completely suppressed Soryuha.

Seeing this, Ray's expression turned icy.

Haki surged throughout his body and Haki Infusion poured into Soryuha.

Instantly, dark red lightning appeared on the surface of the majestic azure dragon.

It actually perfectly blocked Gokuryuha.

Seeing this lightning, Inuyasha's heart trembled.

"What the... isn't this... huh? Did someone switch places?"
