In Auren's mind, he was second-guessing himself on why he was kissing the king. The same person who contempted him over and over to make him feel that he is just a Guide and his role in this place is to heal them, especially this king in front of him.
Even though Auren's acceptance of the kiss can be seen through his actions as he let the king kiss him longer, and Auren didn't break out of the kiss.
This time, after how he had let himself cut ties with Lyore, Auren made himself believe that this kiss was like a new dawn, and it was refreshing.
The king didn't know why Auren kissed him, but his soft lips gently sought Auren's attention as he wanted to go deeper.
For him, the kiss was like a ray of sunshine after the rain. Sweet and gentle, but at the same time, it was eager to do more. And Auren wants to comply. The king has plump lips. And Auren feels like he had these lips from the past, not think of whose lips they were from.
Maybe from his flings before he got in Verbana or somewhere else. The lips of the people from Verbana are the same as those of humans in his world, so he brushes them off his mind.
The king's hands slowly went inside Auren's shirt, seeking Auren's approval to do more than a kiss, and Auren didn't stop him. The king's hand brushed off Auren's nipples, making Auren gasp for air for a moment and release more waves of his guiding powers.
The king groans from the surges of guidance, making Auren kiss him once more.
Both of them were in the moment like they were the only person in the world when a group of people suddenly rushed to where they were to take Auren away from the king.
"Well, well, what do we have here?" asked the leader of the hooligans. The three of them are wearing cloaks, making their faces unrecognizable.
The king broke out of the kiss to hide Auren in his arms. Both of them are still in a bliss of guiding, making Miraenor not only weak because of how his flesh heals itself, but also the excessive loss of his blood made him disoriented.
Yet, he knew he needed to protect Auren from these unknown people.
"Auren, wake up. You need to go. Leave me." Miraenor whispered, but Auren is still in a state of guiding arousal. His cheeks, ears, and neck were red, and he was panting hard, barely aware of what was happening.
"Boss, I think he was the knight who protects the king's bedwarmer. I'm sure it's that guy he's holding. We need to take him to our leader." The other hooligan exclaimed.
"I see. We are fortunate to have such a gorgeous specimen. The leader will like him." Said the first hooligan.
"Right! And if he got bored with this beauty, we could always share and pass him around." The other one laughed, making the other two do the same.
While laughing, the second hooligan punched Miraenor. The punch was so strong that Miraenor almost lost consciousness. He stated hearing static and got his vision blurry.
"We'll take him. Tell your king that the leader of the west will take his precious bedwarmer because he should be the king, not that judgmental king." The boss told Miraenor that the biggest built in all of them took Auren and lifted him like a sack of potatoes.
"N-No! Give... him back... Auren!" Miraenor tried to lift himself, but the guy who punched him kicked him in the gut. Miraenor groans in pain and coughs up a slight amount of blood.
"Don't forget. If the king wants his boy toy back, he needs to comply with what our leader wants." The guy laughed again and left Miraenor there.

A beeping sound of the heart monitor echoed in the room.
There lie a female patient covered in bandages and life support machine because of the white gate event at the Museum.
"What would happened to her? We need to go to that gate to get Gold." Atome said to Liam when both of them are looking at Dee's state. "If only she didn't try to save Gold."
That made Liam glare at Atome. "What did you say? Are you saying that Gold shouldn't be saved?"
Liam needs to come down but not having his guide near him made more agitated. How could he move if he was worried about Gold? What if his connection is severed? He knew he isn't Gold's One true pair, but he still tried to make Gold his.
Auren's nickname as a guide is Gold and registered as AU.
Auren hid his life status and where he came from from his team and in the whole guild because of what he can do. He's more than a one time guide. He could guide anyone, perfectly. And because Liam is an S-class esper and Auren is the first guide that has eighty-nine percent compatibility to him, Auren was immediatly made as his OTP and didn't get tested to others.
It was almost the same as what Dee's assessment. Dee's first and final esper is Atome and had a ninty-three percent compatibility eventhough the gap in their level is great. Dee is an B class guide while Atome is also an S-class esper. Yet Dee's assessment is not completed because the device mulfunction. The assessment guild didn't made a fuss about it because the already saw the compatibility of the guide to the esper and having an OTP made it non-assessable anymore.
They just didn't want anymore workload.
"Calm down! I'm not asking for a fight! If you're in my place Liam aren't you gonna say the same? If Gold's the one in there, barely breathing, won't you feel how I feel?!" Atome's shoulders slump as he hold onto the glass window. "You must've felt this too because you're one true pair got taken away and mine isn't even available. It feels like breathing of a second and in another you cannot. That every breath you take isn't enough because the other half is missing. I know you can feel that connection too. As I am feeling right now. I wan't to be with her, hold her, whisper love to her, yet I can't. I just can't."
Atome truned around just hide her tears from Liam.
"You need to calm down Liam. We could get Gold back, we just need to wait for some more information before we went in. And you need guiding. For now, you need to settle to an emergency guidance."
Yes, Liam was now on edge of berserk state but choose not to have guidance because he insist on having only Auren.
Surely, Auren could heal him permanently but Liam knew that he could be healed by other guide because Auren is not his one true pair. He knew that because what Atome said, he didn't feel it. He could still breath, could do anything he wanted. But if the government and guild found out that Auren is not his OTP, Auren would be taken away from him and he didn't want that. He liked Auren so much it turnedinto an obsession. It only and should be Auren by his side at all times.
"Liam? Did you heared what I just said? You need guiding now."
"I know. And I appriciate your frustration Atome but I can't not now. Maybe until I have more information about the what is inside the gate."
"If only the scout squad isn't wiped out, would have a little information."
"Right." Liam said and looked at where Dee is lying at and then he saw her move. "Atome, Dee moved!"
"What?" Atome looked at Dee and she saw how Dee tried to speak and remove the tubes inside her but still weak to do so. "Doctor! Doctor!" Atome run to call a doctor while Liam tried to stop Dee from removing the tubes by herself.
"Houldyii. HOuldii." Dee tried to speak as Liam understood that she was saying the word, Goldie.
Liam eventhough he had limited knowledge about the tubes, still pulled everything out just to make Dee speak.
"Houldiieee. Houldie ish hin thwobowl."
"Goldie is in trouble? What? What happened to him?" Liam immidietly asked.
"Hooligans." That is the last words Dee said before Liam was taken away from the room to make way for the nurses and doctors.
At last they came. Because right now Dee is in the state of pain becuase of the sudden pulled out tubes.
"What have you done Liam?! How could you!? You could have killed her!" Atome cried as she punched Liam at the face and an S-class esper punch isn't like a simple punch of a woman but like a heavy weight punch. "You. You could have killed her! Do you understand that!? You can't be near her again! Even rhough your guide might have died inside the gate, you don't have the clearance to kill mine!" She shoulted out and walked away from Liam.
Even though Liam is now laying his back on the next broken wall because of the impact of the punch and bleeding heavely, it isn't enough to make him go away.
Not now.
Not when he already found out that Auren is in trouble.
Hours had passed and the doctors, healers, and assessors' cheek ups are done, it's time for family to talk to Dee.
She can't exactly talk because of the scrapes inside the throath that even the healers can't heal but she could still write on a note pad. And so she did.
She told Atome how much she missed her and Atome told her that she felt the same and how she felt back then when she could only breath a half beat.
Atome was crying and laughing while holding Dee's hand when Liam walk inside but keep his distance.
His face was healed by a healer and made it back to his handsome facial features.
"Get out!" Atome scowled but Dee squeeze her hand, stopping her in her mid-way get up from the chair. "What do you want?" She added.
"Dee knew something about AU."
"Are you insane? She's just went into a coma and the first thing you said is she knew something about Gold? You selfish bastard!"
Atome is ready to attack but stopped when Dee let go of her hand and write something.
It took a while for Dee to write it all and when she did, it says, "Goldie is in trouble. He was taken by the hooligans and they will force him to have sex with them. Not just one, but the whole group."
"Are you sure, honey? How do you know that?" Atome asked sweetly, worried that her guide is just having a delusions or dreams from being comatose for two months.
Dee write something again.
"Assess me again. I'm not just a B-class guide. The system choose me as a Guide. A guide to Auren in that world. In Verbana."
Both Atome and Liam looked at each other. They don't know if they would believe her or not.
But what could be the cause of believing right?
So Liam put his finger on the wristwatch and activate the system. He led it to where Dee was and it scanned her.
Finally, the assessment is as accurate than before.
