Chapter 343 - Chapter 343: Dori’s Old Customer

The Fungi Beast Sightseeing Park on the outskirts of the city was a place where scholars could observe the habits of Fungi Beasts up close, saving them both the wasted time of field observation and the risk of life-threatening danger.

"Oh, Skirk, why are you here?"

"I recently gathered some monster drops. I'm planning to exchange them with Dori for some Mora."

Skirk showed them what she had brought. Any monster capable of being selected by her was at least on the level of hilichurls.

Everything she collected would be traded with Dori, because her impression of Dori was quite good. She was a clever merchant who knew what she should ask and what she should not ask.

Working with someone like that was very easy. As for the matter of price, Skirk did not care. As long as she had enough Mora to use, that was fine.

"Then let's go together," Koji said to Rukkhadevata.

Rukkhadevata had no objections, and Skirk did not have any either. They were all acquaintances, so going together was going together.

On the way, Koji and Rukkhadevata chatted idly. Skirk would occasionally add a word or two.

"Rukkhadevata, why did all of you agree to use Mora as currency back then?" Koji was a little curious about how Zhongli had convinced the other nations.

During the Archon War, there were countless types of currencies, making trade extremely troublesome.

"Unifying the currency was beneficial to every nation. Besides that, Morax was very strong."

Although Rukkhadevata did not explain in detail, that final sentence was already enough for people to understand. A strong fist was the final truth.

Morax's performance during the Archon War had been far too fierce. Who would refuse to give him face? So there had not been any twists and turns.

My name is Dori. I am an ordinary little merchant. A being like a god should have nothing to do with me. And today, the faith of all Sumeru, Greater Lord Rukkhadevata, appeared before me.

Trembling with reverence. Deeply terrified. What virtue or ability did I have to deserve this?

"Rukkhadevata-sama, why have you come to this humble one's place?" Dori rubbed her hands together. Surely she had not done something illegal, right?

She could no longer remember how many times she had danced along the edge of the law.

"No need to be so afraid. I generally do not interfere in matters handled by the Matra," Rukkhadevata said with a slight smile.

According to the records in the Akasha Terminal, this Dori was a very wealthy major merchant. The things she did were not exactly heinous, but quite a few were not proper business either. For example, she had even sold Canned Knowledge before.

However, none of that was too serious. Dori still had her own bottom line.

"Skirk, why did you bring Rukkhadevata-sama here?" Dori let out a sigh of relief, then immediately started complaining to Skirk.

"What is wrong? Are you afraid of meeting a god?" Skirk asked in confusion.

Dori was speechless. It was not exactly fear, but reverence. Who would not feel nervous when meeting a god face to face?

"These are the items I want to trade with you this time," Skirk said.

"Let me see… Heh, these are all good things." Dori nodded in satisfaction.

This somewhat cold woman was very strong. Every time, she could bring things that were usually hard to obtain.

"Here is your Mora."

Dori took out a bag of Mora. Koji looked it over and said, "The amount of Mora in this bag doesn't look right. Dori, how did you calculate this?"

Dori really was pitifully shady. Just looking at the Mora, there clearly was not much of it. It simply did not match the value of those materials.

"It does not matter. As long as it is enough to use," Skirk said, shaking her head.

She had long known that Dori had not given her the proper price.

"Exactly. Even she doesn't care, so why are you meddling so much?" Dori planted her hands on her hips and said it with complete confidence.

Business was all about mutual willingness. If both the buyer and seller had no objections, then there was no problem.

"Skirk, you really are careless. You can actually accept such an unequal transaction."

"How am I a profiteer? Rukkhadevata-sama is right here. You cannot slander me in front of her."

Dori did not like being called a profiteer. She could be called a clever merchant.

"Rukkhadevata is one of my people. Do you think she would speak for you?" Koji said playfully.

The corner of Dori's mouth twitched. Fine. Nothing to say. Having a god as a partner really was incredible.

Dori raised her thumb and said, "Your guess was really accurate. The things Lady Alice left behind really did include bombs, and quite a lot of them too."

Because the bombs were far too powerful, she could not easily sell them either. If something went wrong, it would very likely implicate her.

"Alice is a professional when it comes to playing with bombs. Of course she has plenty of bombs on her."

Rukkhadevata cut in, "If they are Alice's bombs, please handle them properly."

"I know. I haven't sold anything with too much destructive power," Dori said, patting her chest.

Although she was a merchant, she was still a merchant with a conscience.

"Skirk, is there anything you want? I have many interesting things here," Dori began promoting her goods.

"Give me some things I can actually use."

Skirk said it casually. Since Dori had already spoken up, she naturally would not refuse.

"No problem. I'll go back and look for them right now. Wait here for a moment," Dori said.

Dori vanished in a flash. Koji came to one conclusion: perhaps the shorter the legs, the faster they ran. Lolis all seemed to run very fast.

"Skirk, how long have you known Dori?"

"A few years. When I first came to Teyvat, Alice told me I could look for Dori to trade for Mora," Skirk thought for a moment and said.

She had not kept track of that time. Working with Dori was extremely simple. Hand over the goods, receive the money. Clean and straightforward.

"I'm back. These are all things that can be used in the wild."

Dori came running back while carrying a pile of things. Koji's eyes widened. She really had found quite a lot.

"Thank you."

Skirk casually put them away. These things were not bad. They could be used.

"No need to be polite. If you have anything good in the future, you can bring it all to me to sell," Dori said.

Skirk nodded. In any case, many of those things were not useful to her, so giving them to Dori was fine too.

"Dori, how did you handle those Canned Knowledge capsules of yours?" Koji suddenly asked.

"Rukkhadevata-sama, why did you ban all Canned Knowledge? Since that kind of thing is useful, shouldn't it be used?"

Those Canned Knowledge capsules that directly taught knowledge were one thing, but there were also some containing martial arts moves. Those could be preserved. For adventurers, they were very practical things.

"Canned Knowledge is indeed convenient. However, some people will become dependent on it after using it."

Rukkhadevata also knew that some Canned Knowledge had practical uses. However, most of it would cause people to become dependent, even using it for cheating and similar matters.
