Chapter 167 - Chapter 167 Wet

A colossal gale roared, and under this storm, everyone involuntarily closed their eyes. Although this storm actively avoided Yu Jin and his group.

The white frost vanished, and the broken walls turned to ash. Once the storm dissipated, a completely different scene appeared before everyone's eyes.

"How about it? I told you to wait a bit, didn't I?" After the storm, there was a vast, flat plain. Although there was no life on this plain.

Alex looked at the suddenly clear scene before him. Whether it was the accumulated debris of ages or the distant mountains he had never seen before, all had been completely flattened by the recent storm.

He gazed into the distance, seeing only endless flatness. The earth and the Sky blurred at the far horizon, making it impossible to distinguish one from the other.

Alex rubbed his reddened eyes. He couldn't tell if Yu Jin had blown away all the obstacles in front of them or simply scraped off a layer of the earth's surface.

"Heh... heh heh." Alex looked at Yu Jin with a complex expression. He could only let out a few dry laughs, unable to say anything else.

A strange sense of loss filled Alex's heart. Could human power truly achieve such a feat?

He used to be very confident about surpassing gods, but now seeing Yu Jin's casual action wield such immense power, his confidence wavered.

"W-what is that?!" Just as Alex was sinking into self-doubt, Bayeta's gasp pulled him back.

Alex looked up, following the direction Bayeta was pointing, and saw the entire Sky distinctly divided into three completely different regions.

One part was crimson like blood, but besides the blood-red, wisps of dark clouds occasionally drifted across the Sky, looking like dried bloodstains in the Sky.

The entire Sky seemed to be drenched and stained by endless fresh blood.

Another part of the Sky was shrouded in endless yellow and black, with orange-yellow or scorched-black cumulus clouds swirling and intertwining. They would suddenly erupt, then suddenly vanish, pulsating without cease.

Alex looked from afar, and the more he looked, the more he felt that the clouds in that part of the Sky were not clouds, but flames.

That part of the Sky seemed to be in endless Burning. Nothing existed; only pulsating flames remained between heaven and earth.

Alex looked at the Sky above his head. Apart from some thick dark clouds, there was no other abnormality.

This made him feel somewhat fortunate. Although this place was strange, it was already quite normal compared to the other two places, which clearly didn't seem like good places.

Seeing everyone gazing into the distance, Yu Jin tapped each of their heads and waved his hand, saying, "Alright, stop looking. If you're interested in those two places, I can take you to see them later, but be mentally prepared."

Then, he added meaningfully, "Of course, the same goes for here."

Everyone shivered at his words. They no longer distracted themselves and followed closely behind Yu Jin.

"Good, you know to stick close to me," Yu Jin said approvingly, looking at the three followers trailing closely behind him.

This place appeared calm on the surface, but in reality, undercurrents surged everywhere. If they didn't follow Yu Jin, they wouldn't even know when they might disappear.

Moreover, there were things here that couldn't be seen elsewhere.

"Bang!" A dull thud came from the ground, and a human hand suddenly emerged from the solid earth.

To call it a human hand was a bit of a stretch. The hand had no flesh, its skin directly clinging to the bones within it—if it still had bones.

Its surface was pitch-black with a bluish glow, as if it had just crawled out of asphalt. A sheen like heavy oil flowed over it, giving it a wet sensation.

It was as if if it scratched you, its essence would forever remain on the scratched spot, never to disappear.

"Tsk, still so blind." Yu Jin said, forcefully pushing the slender, gaunt hand that had emerged back down.

Click! Click! The sound of something hard cracking echoed across the dead silent plain, making Alex and the other two gasp.

This atmosphere, no matter how they looked at it, felt a bit strange.

"W-what was that thing just now?" Bayeta recalled the scene she had just witnessed. A sense of suffocation and despair immediately filled her mind.

Her temples began to throb, her vision narrowed, and she herself could do nothing.

It was as if an invisible giant hand was tightly gripping her body, pulling her down into a bottomless abyss.

"Slap!" A crisp sound came first, then Bayeta saw light return to her eyes, and then, a faint throbbing pain on her forehead—Yu Jin had flicked her forehead.

"Ha... ha..., whew..." Bayeta collapsed to the ground. She stubbornly used her remaining strength to support her already limp body, barely managing not to lie down.

Large beads of sweat ran down her temples, and Bayeta's breathing was so heavy it was unlike a woman's. Her lips were still trembling, and her face was as pale as the layer of ash that had previously covered the ground.

Bayeta seemed to know what that was just now. It was darkness. Seeing nothing, hearing nothing, no past, no future, all-consuming darkness.

"Tsk! You're no good. Studying taboos, and you're already collapsing before you even start?" An iron hand suddenly reached out to Bayeta.

Bayeta looked up at Yu Jin. Yu Jin had his back to the light, yet cast no shadow.

She reached out and shook Yu Jin's hand. A warm current flowed from Yu Jin's hand into her body, taking away all anxiety and fear.

Bayeta involuntarily recalled the wet humanoid again, but found that the suffocating and desperate feeling had disappeared.

That pain from earlier now seemed illusory.

"Let's go, stop thinking about it. There are many more of these guys along the way," Yu Jin tapped Bayeta's head again, then turned and walked forward once more.

"How was it? Was that guy just now good-looking?" As they wandered aimlessly, Yu Jin looked at Durin, who was deep in thought, and asked playfully.

Compared to Bayeta, Durin's performance was significantly better. Although his mind was still young, his mental strength was solid.

"Not good-looking at all!" Durin decisively shook his head. Whenever he recalled the appearance of that wet humanoid, he felt a surge of stifled irritation, a feeling he had never experienced before.

"What exactly was that thing just now? Why... why was it so ugly!" Durin looked at the ground beneath his feet, unable to find any words to describe the wet humanoid's appearance for a long time, only able to use "ugly" to describe it.

Yu Jin chuckled. He stroked the newly sprouted horn on Durin's head and said, "You're right, it's certainly ugly. But there are even uglier ones later."

"Even uglier ones?" Durin looked up ahead, seeing nothing but endless sand.

"Don't overthink it, just follow me." Yu Jin clasped his hands behind his head, looking like he was out for a leisurely stroll.

Then everyone noticed their speed suddenly increased significantly. With every step they took, countless scenes rewound in their eyes.

The barren land and the dim Sky were stretched into blurry streaks of light. Everything before their eyes was indistinct. The only clear thing was Yu Jin's figure ahead.

Alex's eyes widened. He tried hard to see the surroundings clearly, but he couldn't make out anything.

The speed was too fast, so fast that his brain couldn't process any information. He also didn't dare to stop, because he felt that once he stopped, he would never find his way back.

This peculiar state didn't last long. As Yu Jin stopped ahead, Alex and the others' vision became clear again.

It was still as barren as ever here; the entire land looked as if it had been plowed by something, flat and open.

But no one was surprised by this, because in front of them, something even more peculiar caught their attention.

It was endless darkness, a darkness hidden beneath the earth.
