Chapter 36 - Chapter 36 Beauty and the Breath of Depravity

Chapter 36 Beauty and the Breath of Depravity

"Indeed, what you said seems to make some sense."

Lu Ze pretended to be hearing this theory for the first time. After thinking for a few seconds, he said, "Then I'll study it and try it out when I get back."

"Okay, remember to tell me if it works."

Klein nodded and continued walking forward. In his heart, Klein was also calculating.

This is just some preliminary preparation so that when I share my role-playing skills with everyone later, it won't seem so awkward. Hmm, I think my potion is almost digested, and then I can submit a special request.

Of course, Lu Ze didn't know what his colleague was thinking. He just followed him and walked towards the Dragon Bar across the street.

It was afternoon, but the bar was already bustling with activity. Even through the heavy door, one could hear frantic shouts coming from inside. A burly man stood guard at the door, his arms folded. A blue anchor was tattooed on his bare, muscular arm.

"Good afternoon, sir."

Klein greeted the other party politely.

The burly man nodded at him, and the two of them pushed open the door and walked into the bar.

The moment the door was pushed open, a heat wave mixed with the smell of body odor and alcohol hit Lu Ze in the face, and he almost couldn't breathe.

After a quick glance around the bar, he understood why the shouting was so loud. In the middle of the bar stood a boxing ring, where two shirtless men were engaged in a fierce brawl. The drinkers gathered in a circle, cheering for the person they had bet on or hurling vulgar insults at their opponents.

Klein led Luze around the boxing ring and into a billiard room at the back. The people inside were playing billiards, and when they saw them enter, they glanced over.

"Mr. Swain."

Klein took off his hat and saluted one of the burly old men.

"Well, you're here."

The old man had a military demeanor, with brown hair and blue eyes, and wore a ragged naval officer's uniform. He first greeted Klein, then looked Luze up and down, then waved away the others in the billiard room.

After everyone else left, Swain turned to Klein and asked, "I heard that Old Neil was taken away because he almost lost control?"

"That's right. In fact, if it weren't for the new colleague next to me, Old Neil would have become an irredeemable monster."

Klein replied truthfully.

"he?"

Swain was surprised when he heard this and turned his gaze to Luze again.

"My name is Luze Londall, Mr. Swain."

Lu Ze introduced himself.

"I'm Swain, the owner of this bar. Formerly the captain of Tingen City's Mandated Punisher squad," Swain said. "From the looks of you, you seem to be a support staff member. How did you rescue Old Neil? Could you be a peeper from the same source as him?"

"That's about right. I'm a secret praying person."

As soon as Luze finished speaking, he saw Swain subconsciously lean back a few inches.

"Aurora Club?"

He frowned.

What a big reaction.

"I have nothing to do with the Aurora Society. Becoming a Secret Prayer was just an accident."

Lu Ze hurriedly explained.

Perhaps Luze's explanation had taken effect; Swain seemed less wary. After a few more small talk, he stepped aside, revealing a hidden door. "Go in, and don't cause any trouble in there. Also, if you have a fancy for something but don't have enough money, you can borrow it from me. I'll charge a reasonable interest rate."

Behind the door were rooms after rooms. After passing through several rooms, the world before me suddenly opened up and I saw a small square with stairs. On each level, people were setting up stalls, selling herbs, jars and pots, ancient books and manuscripts, and other strange antiques. Many more people were walking through the stalls, selecting items they liked or bargaining with the stall owners.

"Just take a look around first. Is there anything you want to buy?"

Klein asked.

"I need a ceremonial dagger, a carving knife, and some candles."

Lu Ze replied.

As a secret praying person, he does not need so many ritual materials, flesh and blood are enough.

"Yes, you should buy a dagger and a carving knife. They'll be useful for carving patterns on talismans and creating spiritual walls."

Klein nodded, "Then let's go over there and take a look."

He led Lu Ze toward the central staircase. This level was dominated by stalls selling metal materials and amulets. These amulets were mostly made of gold, silver, and copper, often adorned with artistic shapes and mystical carvings. They were certainly beautiful, but from Lu Ze's mystical perspective, they were all mundane objects, largely devoid of spirituality.

Ah, yes, after I learn how to make amulets, I will make one for Cecilia first.

Lu Ze thought to himself.

"Do you have a silver dagger and a carving knife?"

Klein asked after spending some time browsing at a stall selling gold, silver, and knives.

"have."

The stall owner was a balding middle-aged man. He took out a cloth bag from behind his back. When he opened it, it was full of rows of silver daggers of different lengths and shapes.

"How much is this?"

Lu Ze looked for a while and picked out a simple dagger of moderate length and without any unnecessary decorations.

"13 soules."

The stall owner replied.

"OK."

Lu Ze picked up the dagger and gestured a few times to see if there was anything wrong with it. He nodded and took out the banknotes from his wallet and handed them over. The stall owner looked at the money and was stunned for a moment, as if he had not expected Lu Ze to pay so readily.

"You just gave it to me like that?"

Klein said in surprise.

"yes."

Lu Ze has always been too lazy to bargain. As long as he thinks the price is about right, he will pay. If the other party is the type to take the opportunity to ask for more, he will not bargain, but turn around and leave.

"Oh yes, I forgot that you are not short of money now."

Klein smiled and began to buy some silver from the stall owner, bargaining calmly. Luze didn't have any problem with his bargaining; everyone had their own way of living. He put away the silver dagger, stood up, and tried to browse other stalls, but he bumped into someone behind him without noticing.

"ah!"

The person let out a soft cry, his voice so delicate that it made people feel moved.

"Sorry, are you okay?"

Lu Ze apologized.

He looked closely and saw a sweet-looking woman opposite him. Her face was round and her features weren't particularly pretty, but the more he looked at her, the more attractive she became. No, to be honest, she was a beauty. After Lu Ze's time travel, she was probably the second most beautiful woman he had ever seen.

Who was the most beautiful? Of course, it was his sister Cecilia.

This is not a filter for his brother, his sister is really outstanding in appearance.

"I'm fine."

The lady whispered, her slender eyes sweeping across Lu Ze's face.

Um?

Lu Ze suddenly felt something was wrong.

This woman seemed to have a faint smell of decadence. It was not like the evil and crazy feeling of a real creator, but it was not a good tendency either. Instead, it was the suffocating feeling of slowly sinking into the quagmire and dying in despair.

The woman saw his expression change and immediately lowered her head as if frightened. The faint aura also disappeared. She hurriedly walked around Lu Ze and went to the other side.

That breath was gone again.

Lu Ze blinked and stared at the lady's slim back, but still didn't see anything strange. He couldn't help but wonder if he had seen it wrong.

"Ah, Mr. Azik."

Just when Lu Ze was beginning to doubt his own eyesight, he suddenly heard Klein next to him greeting someone, and he turned his head to follow the sound.

The pale color, as obscure and terrifying as if symbolizing death, suddenly filled Lu Ze's vision without any warning.

boom!

He only felt a loud bang in his head, and then he lost consciousness.
