Chapter 44 - Chapter 44 Curse

Chapter 44 Curse

By the time the two rushed down from the building, Lu Ze's chest wound had completely healed.

"Hey! Stop right there!"

The guards had been awakened by the sounds of gunfire and fighting, and when they saw them, they shouted and surrounded them. But before they could get close, Leonard sang hymns again, and the guards fell to the cold ground and fell asleep peacefully.

Lu Ze took out the blood-stained map from his arms. According to the blood markings on the map, they needed to follow the direction of the Tussock River and go deep into the back of the company. The abandoned dock was in the deep river bay.

"there!"

He pointed out the direction and the two of them ran away quickly.

"Whoosh! Whoosh!"

Not long after running, Lu Ze began to pant due to exhaustion. He was very glad that he had participated in combat training and his physical fitness had improved, otherwise he would not have been able to hold on.

Leonard was running in front of Luze. He could have run very fast, but in order to take care of Luze, he kept his speed at a lower level.

The two men ran one after the other into the depths of William Transport Company. Soon, the outline of the abandoned dock appeared in front of them.

Only a half-moon cast a faint glow, dimly illuminating everything in front of me.

The cement floor of the dock was cracked, with weeds growing freely in the cracks. The steel bridge was rusted, and the wooden planks jutting out from the bay were rotten, making it look like the place had been abandoned for a long time.

But deep in the river bay, hidden by buildings, an unknown cargo ship was docked. From the outside, the ship was blocked by the rambling buildings. Coupled with the remoteness of the place, no one would have noticed the existence of such a cargo ship unless they came here specifically!

"What the hell"

Leonard also sighed. Unlike the dilapidated dock, this ship looked intact, without any signs of damage or wear. It was obviously a ship that could operate normally.

A shadowy figure appeared at the bow, seemingly the hooded man who had attacked them. He leaped lightly from the bow, splashing into the Tussock River, disappearing beneath the water.

"Don't chase them, go aboard and take a look."

Leonard said in a deep voice.

The boat extended its wooden planks toward the shore, and the two men carefully stepped on the planks and came onto the boat.

As soon as I entered the cabin, the smell of fresh blood hit me in the face, strong and undisguised, rushing into my nostrils.

The two exchanged glances, then followed the scent of blood and searched around, finding bodies on deck, in the crew quarters, and even in the captain's cabin. Some lay in beds, perhaps asleep, others on deck, perhaps keeping watch. A crowd of sailors gathered in the dining room, seemingly at a party. Now, they were all dead.

He was really cruel.

Lu Ze said to himself, and walked into the captain's room, where he found a man dressed as the captain slumped over the navigation table. The navigation log had been thrown into the brazier and burned to only the shell.

Who was it that silenced the witnesses and for what purpose?

Perhaps checking what cargo they are transporting will shed some light.

They walked down to the lower deck, pulled up the hatch, and a wave of hot air with a foul smell rushed up. They took the revolver, raised the gas lamp, and stepped down the stairs to the lower cargo hold, step by step, very cautiously.

The bright orange edge of the gas lamp extended forward, illuminating faces deep in the cabin that were either frightened, numb, or tired.

The cargo they transport is people.

"The situation is beyond our capabilities. We must report to the captain."

After coming out of the cabin, Leonard said to Lu Ze with a sullen face.

No one could have imagined that what was originally just a simple investigation into an affair would eventually involve human trafficking involving Beyonders.

The skin color and appearance of the people in the cabin were obviously from the Southern Continent. When asked questions, they would only reply in the Dutan language of the Southern Continent, and communication was impossible.

"Asshole!"

Leonard looked a little annoyed and suddenly started cursing Mr. Pound, whom he had never met before. "I thought he was just having a little affair, but I never thought he was actually involved in human trafficking!"

"Many of the girls there looked like they had been assaulted."

Lu Ze also nodded in understanding. No wonder the spirit creature seemed so confused when he asked about it. Because Mr. Pound was not having an affair at all, but taking advantage of the convenience of the slave trade to wantonly rape the young women.

Leonard was angry in the cabin for a while, but gradually regained control of his emotions. He then looked up and said to him, "Let's go back and report to the captain."

Lu Ze squeezed the small bottle in his pocket, which contained the hooded man's blood.

"Why don't you go alone? I'll stay here."

He said to Leonard.

Leonard was stunned. "But this is not safe."

"That guy has already escaped. Can he come back on his own for us to catch?" Lu Ze said, "I can still protect the scene here. Besides, if you go alone, you can go faster without me holding you back."

What he said did make sense, and Leonard was quickly convinced. After reminding him to be careful, he left alone.

After watching Leonard disappear into the distance, Lu Ze walked into the cabin with a gloomy expression, holding the small bottle of blood in his hand.

The reason for sending Leonard away was not for anything else, but simply to take revenge on the guy who dared to stab him!

He will use a ritual to curse the other person and even take his life!

Lu Ze walked into the restaurant, where many corpses were lying scattered around. They were the sailors who had been having a banquet earlier. The grilled fish and mushroom soup on the table were still steaming, but the people who were going to enjoy them were already dead.

Terror was frozen on the sailors' faces. Each one was killed with a single blow, hitting the vital points cleanly and efficiently.

"Very good. With so many people killed, we don't even have to look for sacrifices for the ritual."

Lu Ze sniffed the strong smell of blood in the restaurant and sneered.

He lit two candles on the dining table, then pulled out a ritual dagger from his bosom, cut his finger, and evenly smeared the blood on the blade. Instead of creating a spiritual wall, he raised the dagger in the restaurant filled with corpses.

"The Lord who created everything."

He used the Hermetic language to call upon the name of the true Creator.

The surroundings became quiet. In this summer season of August and September, even the chirping of insects outside could not be heard.

"The Lord behind the veil of shadows."

The cabin began to shake, and the gas lamp in the ceiling swayed and cast shadows.

Lu Ze still only uttered the two honorific names, not the full name. But a certain blasphemous and evil power had already subtly descended, and the hidden being he called upon was eager to grant him a gift, like a generous sales manager constantly extending a customer's trial period.

But the sales manager only wants your money, while the evil god wants more than just your soul.

"Praise the Lord and offer a feast to the great Lord."

Lu Ze said pious words in a tone that was not pious at all, "May the breath of the Lord always be with me and eliminate the enemy obstacles for us."

A phantom sound of wind echoed through the restaurant, carrying the shrill wails of the dying. After the wind died down, the thick, bloody odor suddenly became very thin, as if swept away to an unknown location. The faces of the deceased grew unusually pale, transforming from the pale color of corpses to the paleness of inorganic matter.

Lu Ze raised the ritual dagger and flicked it lightly in the air. A certain evil and pure depravity entangled the blade. He turned the dagger again and again, allowing the aura to evenly adhere to the blade, and then squatted down, holding the dagger.

The cabin floor was made of wood, and he easily carved a crude little figure with his dagger. The figure was crude, about the size of a palm. Lu Ze finished the outline of the figure, then took the bottle of blood from his pocket and poured it over the stick figure.

A small amount of blood dripped down, and under the impetus of some unknown force, it spread evenly, covering the outline of the little man evenly without spilling out.

Luze raised the dagger, blade pointing downward.

"Dare to stab me?"

He said with a sneer, and stabbed down fiercely with the knife!

"puff!"

The dagger went straight through the wooden board. Although it was the wood that was pierced, Lu Ze felt an elastic feedback as if he had pierced flesh.

The blood on the stick figure's surface began to fluctuate, as if it was screaming in extreme pain.

"Is it good?"

Lu Ze smiled coldly, pulled out his dagger, and stabbed the villain again.

"Um?"

This cut had less feedback and a subtle resistance.

Someone was stopping his curse.

"Humph, dare you stop me?"

Lu Ze laughed viciously, picked up the dagger and cut open his palm, letting the blood flow into the outline of the villain, then raised the dagger with both hands.

"Praise the Lord!"

He shouted with a ferocious look on his face, and stabbed the villain with all his strength!

"puff--"

The blood on the villain's surface was almost boiling! Blood droplets splashed and leaped, but soon lost all vitality and became dead, slowly seeping down along the gap made by the dagger.

Lu Ze watched all this coldly until the vision ended. He drew his knife and quickly cleaned up the scene, then stood up and strode out of the cabin.

Leonard was coming back soon, and he had to hurry back to the deck and pretend nothing had happened.

At the same time, somewhere in Tingen City.

The luxurious ball was in full swing. Amid the melodious music, more than a dozen pairs of gentlemen and ladies in gorgeous attire were dancing gracefully on the dance floor.

The lights from the crystal ceiling illuminated the magnificent hall, reflecting the jewels on each woman's snow-white neck. Ambiguous whispers echoed beneath the music, and cheerful laughter, along with the scent of perfume on the ladies' ears, filled the air.

The gentlemen's eyes wandered through the crowd, searching for the most charming figure, but found nothing.

So, those eyes could not help but turn into disappointment and regret, sighing, wondering which lucky person will be able to have a close encounter with her tonight?

In a secret room on the second floor, the slender and charming Madam Sharon, with her icy face that had captivated countless people, asked, "Night Watcher?"

Next to her stood a beautiful girl with a round face and wearing a skirt. She was the girl Lu Ze had seen before.

"Yes, there is at least one Sequence 8 'Midnight Poet'."

Across from them stood the hooded assassin. He had removed his hat, revealing a young man. He clutched his injured arm and replied, "But I've already killed everyone on the ship."

At this moment, before he finished speaking, he suddenly showed an expression of extreme fear.
