Chapter 63 - Sensible and Obedient Cat Pillar

The piece of fish he'd given Chachamaru wasn't huge, but it wasn't small either.

For a cat of its size, that portion should last a while.

Unexpectedly, Chachamaru seemed to have a bigger appetite than the average cat.

Fortunately, Lin Feng had plenty of ingredients. He sliced another piece of fish for Chachamaru, even bigger than the first.

That should satisfy its hunger for now.

"Meow~!"

Clearly, Chachamaru appreciated Lin Feng's generosity, meowing happily before starting to savor the delicious fish.

Lin Feng could only shake his head and smile, feeling a little helpless.

If this had been before, he definitely wouldn't have been willing to use expensive salmon as cat food.

After all, back then, he didn't have much money in his pocket.

The property left by his parents wasn't enough to live on.

Fortunately, after Lin Feng received his first round of royalties, he wasn't so short on cash anymore.

Not to mention Chachamaru wanting to eat salmon, even if it wanted to eat shark, it wouldn't be a problem.

As long as he had money, what fish couldn't he get?

But for now, it'd be best to solve the dinner problem.

Having experienced so much just now, Lin Feng was indeed feeling a bit hungry at the moment.

Fortunately, this time Chachamaru seemed satisfied. After eating this piece of fish, it didn't come back to Lin Feng for more.

After settling the dinner issue, Lin Feng went straight to the desk in his second-floor bedroom.

He intended to use this time to experiment with how his artwork would change after spending a significant amount of reputation points to enhance his drawing skills.

Chachamaru, after eating his fill, had been obediently following Lin Feng the whole time.

Seeing Lin Feng at work, Chachamaru didn't disturb him, but instead quietly lay beside the desk lamp, watching Lin Feng draw without moving.

It must be said that since Lin Feng's overall drawing skills were completely improved with his reputation points, the changes were indeed obvious.

Firstly, Lin Feng's sketching became more fluid and natural.

Before, when he drew each draft, he would replicate and imitate the original manga in his mind, page by page.

It was somewhat like tracing a gourd to draw a gourd.

However, every line he put down on the drawing seemed to be deeply imprinted in his mind.

Even if there was a completely blank sheet of paper in front of him, Lin Feng could quickly turn it into a drawing with exciting content.

And before, Lin Feng would feel a bit tired after drawing two drafts in a row.

Now he had already drawn the third draft, and only his wrists were a little sore. This also proved once again the importance of improving his drawing skills, which was self-evident.

But there was no need to draw too late today; he wasn't in a rush to submit his work recently anyway.

After tidying up the drafts on his desk, Lin Feng turned off the desk lamp and prepared to go to bed.

The next morning.

Waking Lin Feng up wasn't an alarm clock, but a fluffy, long tail.

For someone who had never kept a cat before, this feeling was quite unexpected.

Especially since Lin Feng hadn't fully adjusted to having a pet cat in the house, he was startled when he woke up in the morning.

"Alright, I'm going to school now, Chachamaru, you stay home and don't run around, okay?"

Because pets weren't allowed in school, Lin Feng couldn't take Chachamaru with him.

But he was still a little worried about leaving it alone at home.

After all, Chachamaru used to be a pet cat from Demon Slayer, and it might not know much about this world.

If it ran out onto the road and got hit by a car, or got electrocuted by high-voltage power lines outside, that wouldn't be good.

Even an ordinary cat wouldn't wander into the middle of the road to get hit by a car without reason.

But in the world of Demon Slayer, there aren't many dangers like cars and high-voltage power lines.

Horse-drawn carriages are more common, and though steam trains exist, they only run on designated tracks.

"Meow~"

Chachamaru meowed in response to Lin Feng's instructions, then affectionately rubbed against his pant leg.

It could be said that it understood most of what Lin Feng said.

Seeing Chachamaru's well-behaved and understanding demeanor, Lin Feng nodded and then opened the door, heading towards the school.

When he passed Shizuka's house, Shizuka happened to be walking out of her yard.

"Good morning, Lin Feng!"

"Eh, you look like you have something on your mind...? Did something happen?"

Shizuka greeted Lin Feng with her usual smile when she saw him.

However, after getting closer, she realized that Lin Feng seemed a little different from usual.

But she couldn't quite put her finger on what was different.

"Hmm... is that so?"

"Nothing really happened. I just stumbled upon a shady shop yesterday, nothing major. Don't worry about it."

Lin Feng hadn't expected Shizuka to ask so suddenly. He instinctively touched his nose and smiled, brushing off her concern.

Yesterday's damn system reputation lottery really felt like a scam.

But he only needed to know that himself; there was no need to tell Shizuka.

Hearing the hint of indifference in Lin Feng's tone, Shizuka nodded understandingly and didn't ask further.

If Lin Feng wanted to talk about it, he probably would have said something already.

Since he didn't, it meant he didn't want to.

Although Shizuka was indeed a little curious, she wasn't going to press Lin Feng about something he didn't want to discuss.

Everyone has their own privacy, and one should respect the other person's wishes.

The two of them changed the subject and started chatting about something else.

"...Right, Lin Feng, have you contacted Miyako to ask about how your work is doing?"

Shizuka suddenly remembered the scene of the massive crowds when she went to the bookstore to buy the Weekly Shonen magazine yesterday.

So, she turned to Lin Feng and asked with some curiosity.

Shizuka had occasionally bought the Weekly Shonen magazine before, but she had indeed never seen a scene like yesterday's, where people had to queue up to buy it.
