A few hours ago
The afternoon sun cast a golden glow like a painting. The magic of the sunset's colors and soothing vibes seemed to create a natural stress relieving effect after a long, tiring day. Sweat dripped from her temples as her pace slowed, changing from a light jog to a leisurely walk. She was breathing heavily. Alyssa collapsed onto the green grass in the park. She took a deep breath, inhaling the evening air that soothed her soul. She bent down, stretched her legs, and patted her tense calves.
Several people were still running past her. The sound of footsteps mixed with the rustling of the wind. In the distance, the sun began to sink slowly, welcoming the night with a beautiful symphony. After she was satisfied with her photos of the orange sky, Alyssa decided to go to a bakery across the street.
Her hands nimbly scrolled through the photos she had taken. Her gaze stopped at one photo of a small child in the frame. The corners of her lips turned up as she imagined how cute her niece would be. Just imagining it made her happy, let alone being able to hold her and play with her.
Alyssa left the bakery with two bags of bread in her hands. She was going to give them to Alexa, who loved them. She reached into her bag for her cell phone to send Alexa a message saying she would stop by her mansion to give her the bread. Before she could send the message, she saw Alexa walking along the side of the road.
Seeing Alexa stop at the side of the road, Alyssa ran, looking left and right. Soon, a car came speeding from the opposite direction. Her body froze for a split second. Her fingers trembled, dropping the two loaves of bread from her grasp. She screamed.
"LOOK OUT!." she shouted.
Alexa's terrified scream echoed. Alyssa ran quickly. Her hands reflexively pushed Alexa to the side of the road so she wouldn't be hit directly by the car.
Her body was thrown back, her bones felt broken. Thick fluid flowed freely from her body. She felt she needed anesthesia right now. Her breathing felt heavy. Before losing consciousness, Alyssa turned to Alexa to make sure she was okay. Their eyes locked, Alyssa gave a faint smile. The world seemed to blur. Her vision, sounds, even her own heartbeat. In an instant, everything vanished.

The smell of medicine filled the room, her eyes blinked as they caught the dazzling white light. Her eyelids opened again, but it wasn't a garden. Only white walls and an IV tube in her hand. Flashbacks of memories suffocated her chest. She dared to touch her stomach, where the child was. There was no longer a protruding belly there. Her eyes closed tightly as she took a deep breath.
"I told you to wait for me, Lexie." He growled.
Alexa slowly opened her eyes. She looked around. All her family was there. She chuckled, seeing everyone gathered to pity her.
Alexa pulled out her IV tube and got off the stretcher. Her eyes stared intently at the man standing in front of her.
"Until when, huh? Until I die waiting for you to come?" she snapped.
"Look at this now, you killed my child too!" Sean stared at Alexa, searching for an answer in her eyes. Whatever that might be.
"Whatever, that child shouldn't have existed in the first place, right?" Alexa turned her face away. She turned around and sat on the edge of the stretcher.
"I NEVER CONSIDERED HER PRESENCE A MISTAKE!" His eyes reddened, his hands clenched into fists as he tried to hold back his anger.
Alexa's lips pursed. "But you always use her as an excuse for why you can't be with Liora because of her presence!"
"You can marry Liora now. Sooner than our previous agreement. Shouldn't you be happy, Sean? Why are you wasting your energy discussing this?" Alexa chuckled, her hand reaching for the drink on the table.
"Enough, Alexa. She's my daughter, after all! I have the right to be sad." He growled.
"Then you have the right to judge me!?" She threw himself onto the bed and tried to go back to sleep.
Only the sound of the clock could be heard. Until Alexa spoke again.
"Alexa, no one has the right to judge you, dear," Nathalia said softly. Her eyes stared intently at Sean. She moved closer to Alexa and gently stroked her hair.
"I need to rest." Alexa pulled the blanket up to her shoulders.
Sean signaled to everyone there to leave first. Leaving himself sitting on the waiting sofa. Sean stared at Alexa's back with a blank look.
"Hope you sleep well, Lexie." he said sarcastically.
Alexa understood what Sean was saying. She turned to face Sean.
"Everything is clear. There's nothing more to discuss. The child is gone." she said.
"Do you really not love her? Don't you have any feelings for her? You're her mother, Lexie." Sean walked closer and sat on the edge of the bed.
"Then what should I do, Sean? You mean I should cry? Cry bitterly over the loss of my child? Like that?" Alexa rolled her eyes lazily and turned her back on Sean again. Her body was very weak.
"If you still want to blame me, get out of here. I want to rest." Alexa emphasized her last sentence.
He nodded slowly. He laughed sadly." You never wanted it from the start."
Sean stood up from his seat. There was a long silence. Until he spoke. "You even continued taking the medication while you were pregnant."
