Chapter 165Lily's POV
For a while, I couldn't move. My body was a mess of pain and confusion, my limbs heavy as stone. The air felt sharp in my lungs as I tried to remember what had happened. One moment I was running and climbing the fence and the next minute, I was hitting the ground hard enough to see stars.
My ears were still ringing when I noticed shadows shifting around me.
No. Not shadows.

"Fucking bitch". I heard one of the figures growl.
"Shit". I knew I was fucked.
My heart slammed in my chest when I looked up and saw two wolf guards standing over me, their glowing eyes like twin orbs of fire against the night. Their presence made my blood freeze. I stumbled backward, trying to get up, but my body screamed in protest. My knees gave way.
One of them growled low, the kind of growl that vibrated through the ground.
I turned to run, but I didn't get far before I slammed into something solid and fell hard to the ground again.
No, not something.
