After getting a clear look at his face, I glanced back at Viola standing beside me.
…They really don't look alike at all.
Aside from sharing the same hair color, the difference between them was so striking it was hard to believe they were related by blood. Their facial features, their presence—everything felt completely different.
How could two people from the same family look this unrelated?
…Though, in a way, it was probably a blessing that they didn't resemble each other.
"I told you not to leave your room!" Count Amorin's voice roared through the space. "Why did you go outside?!"
"I–I'm sorry…" Viola shrank back, her voice barely audible.
His glare only sharpened.
"Just like your mother," he snapped, "are you trying to disrespect me as well?!"
"N-no, that's not—"
"Silence!" he cut her off harshly. "When did I give you permission to speak?"
I stood there, completely frozen.
…This definitely wasn't something I was meant to witness.
