Chapter 83. Pure Kashtira's Dark Armed! The Entertainer's Final Fenrir!
Use a Trap Card!
Pull out four Dragons that can use their effects!
Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon alone already provides an excellent monster-effect negate!
But obviously.
The other three monsters on this field aren't doing enough!
Truly an Entertainer player!
Even Supreme King Z-ARC is used for cursed entertainment!
Now all six worlds are watching with curiosity.
They want to see how this so-called Kashtira is actually played!
In the short video.
Seeing four Dragons come out in one breath!
The Entertainer's Shangri-Ira seems completely unfazed.
Entertainer's Shangri-Ira: "Amazing! Too amazing!"
Entertainer's Shangri-Ira: "You've finished your plays, so it's my turn to activate effects!"
"According to the effect of Kashtira Shangri-Ira!"
"I Special Summon from my Deck!"
"Kashtira Fenrir!"
"I activate Fenrir's… temptation—pfft."
"Fenrir's effect! Add Kashtira Riseheart from my Deck to my hand!"
Odd-Eyes Entertainer: "Can't you see the Supreme King in my Pendulum Zones?"
Odd-Eyes Entertainer: "You still dare to search?"
Odd-Eyes Entertainer: "I activate the effect! I'll blow it up and send it to the Graveyard."
Entertainer's Shangri-Ira: "Then I activate Scareclaw Kashtira!"
Odd-Eyes Entertainer: "I activate Crystal Wing's effect! Negate the effect of that card in your hand!"
Nonstop interruptions!
Nonstop destruction!
He's practically solved and sent all of the Entertainer's Shangri-Ira's key cards to the Graveyard.
Whether it's Riseheart or Scareclaw Kashtira!
They're both key to the follow-up lines!
Entertainer's Shangri-Ira didn't expect this guy would actually dare to use Crystal Wing's effect!
Shouldn't he have saved it for Fenrir?
But the price for that.
Is welcoming the crazy face-down banish from the "Exclusion Saint" boss later!
Either way.
There's no loss!
Entertainer's Shangri-Ira: "Hahaha! You activated a monster effect, huh? Then I'll activate Fenrir's effect!"
Entertainer's Shangri-Ira: "Your on-field Pendulum Zone Supreme King Z-ARC—banish it face-down!"
Entertainer's Shangri-Ira: "Unicorn chains its effect!"
"Let me look at your Extra Deck—your Odd-Eyes Venom Dragon, banish it face-down!"
"Then I enter the Battle Phase! Unicorn destroys your Defense Position Brave-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!"
"My Main Phase 2!"
"Two cards overlay!"
"Construct the Overlay Network!"
"Xyz Monster in Defense Position—Kashtira Shangri-Ira!"
"My turn ends!"
...
After that final exchange of resources.
With two turns back and forth.
Entertainer's Shangri-Ira can only sit on a single 3000 DEF body with protection—Shangri-Ira.
It looks like the field advantage is still in the hands of the Supreme King Odd-Eyes Entertainer.
But in reality it's an even 50–50.
And for duelists in the other six worlds.
From this sequence.
The card that truly shocked them is that Trap Card, Soul of the Supreme King.
With a single card, pay half your LP to Special Summon Supreme King Z-ARC.
Then, banish it from the Graveyard to continue and bring out the Four Dimension Dragons.
Who wouldn't be baffled by this card?
As for Shangri-Ira.
Or rather, this "Kashtira."
They don't know it well enough yet, but once the later Kashtira combo breakdown appears.
They might realize Kashtira is actually the scariest existence.
In the short video.
Odd-Eyes Entertainer: "My turn! Draw!"
Odd-Eyes Entertainer: "I overlay my on-field Level 8 Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon and Level 8 Starving Venom Fusion Dragon!"
Odd-Eyes Entertainer: "Construct the Overlay Network!"
"Transcend the limits of the galaxy! Xyz Summon!"
"Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon!"
"Then I activate Cipher Dragon's effect! Detach 1 material!"
"Your Shangri-Ira—hand it over!"
"And then, rank up over your Shangri-Ira!"
"Overlay!"
"Xyz Summon! Galaxy-Eyes Full Armor Photon Dragon!"
"Alright! I set 2 cards!"
"Because I can only attack with Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon!"
"I attack directly!"
"You take 3000!"
"Your LP are down to 5000!"
"I'm at 2000. No problem—right now, the advantage is mine!"
...
Seeing this Galaxy-Eyes "bull-headed" play mirroring the first half of the video.
Plenty of duelists across the six worlds twitch at the corners of their mouths.
At this moment.
They finally understand why these two exciting duels were cut into a single video.
This Odd-Eyes Entertainer.
Apparently got salty after his Odd-Eyes got "bull-headed" by an opponent's Galaxy-Eyes line.
So he also teched in Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon to bully others.
ZEXAL World.
Kite Tenjo nearly spits blood.
"What? My Galaxy-Eyes Xyz in the Extra Deck!"
"Is it really this popular?"
"Blue-Eyes wants my Odd-Eyes."
"Utopia wants my Galaxy-Eyes boss!"
"Now the Supreme King deck also wants my Galaxy-Eyes!?"
"Why does it feel like—"
"My Galaxy-Eyes..."
Kite can't even describe the complicated feeling.
In the end, the Numbers Hunter became the hunted, huh?
"Rank 8 is just too hot."
"And your Galaxy-Eyes doesn't even self-restrict to in-archetype."
"If a Rank 8 deck can run it, of course they'll jam it."
Yuma Tsukumo shrugs in explanation.
If not for his Utopia build being bad at making Rank 8.
Otherwise.
He'd absolutely stuff in Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon for fun, too.
5D's World.
Yusei Fudo notices something odd.
Same Galaxy-Eyes line.
Unlike the previous game.
The Odd-Eyes Entertainer didn't activate Galaxy-Eyes Full Armor Photon Dragon to gain targeting protection and secure the field.
Was that sloppy play?
Or.
Is there some other purpose?
"How strange."
"If you don't activate the protection."
"Then this card came out for nothing."
"On the field, it'll be easy for the opponent to clear."
"And he only has 2000 LP. That's dangerous."
Jack Atlas also picks up on the difference in the Galaxy-Eyes line here.
Yusei quickly looks toward the back row.
Could it be… those 2 set cards?
And in fact—just as Yusei predicted.
Set in the back row.
The Odd-Eyes Entertainer has a mysterious Trap—Magic Cylinder.
He's just waiting for the opponent to explode and swing in.
Entertainer's Shangri-Ira: "My turn! Draw!"
Entertainer's Shangri-Ira: "I Special Summon Kashtira Fenrir!"
"Activate effect! Add Tearlaments Kashtira from my Deck!"
"Activate its effect!"
"Banish Kashtira Riseheart from my Graveyard."
"I Special Summon this card!"
"Send the top 3 cards of my Deck to the Graveyard!"
As the three cards are revealed.
He's instantly stunned.
They are.
Pressured Planet Wraitsoth, Kashtira Overlap, and Planet Pathfinder.
Seeing this.
Not only is he stunned.
Even the Odd-Eyes Entertainer is stunned.
What the heck.
Even the heavens are helping him.
Seriously?
Play a fun deck, get to enjoy Supreme King Z-ARC.
And still win comfortably?
That pile—none of it is useful!
He even milled the Field Spell Wraitsoth.
And Wraitsoth got milled together with Pathfinder into the Graveyard.
After all, Wraitsoth isn't a "Kashtira" card by name.
It's hard to retrieve.
Entertainer's Shangri-Ira: "Terrible luck. Whatever, I have two Level 7 monsters on the field!"
Entertainer's Shangri-Ira: "I'll construct the Overlay Network and Xyz Summon!"
"Dark Armed, the Dragon of Annihilation!"
"Activate effect! Detach 1 material!"
"Destroy your Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon!"
"Also, banish Wraitsoth in the Graveyard!"
"I add the banished Kashtira Riseheart back to my hand!"
"Continue—activate effect! Detach 1 material!"
"Destroy your Galaxy-Eyes Full Armor Photon Dragon!"
"Because I activated its effect this turn, Dark Armed cannot attack."
"I set 1 monster and end my turn."
...
One Dark Armed goes on a bombing spree.
And then he simply doesn't attack.
The Odd-Eyes Entertainer is baffled.
What is this?
What kind of Kashtira splashes in such a baffling Dark Armed Xyz?
Well, great.
The Magic Cylinder plan fell apart.
Odd-Eyes Entertainer: "..."
Odd-Eyes Entertainer: "Alright, alright! So you like blowing things up, huh?"
"Then it's my turn! Draw!"
"I rank up the on-field Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon!"
"Construct the Overlay Network with a single monster!"
"Overlay!"
"Rank-Up Xyz Summon! Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon Overlord!"
"When this card has a Rank 7 Xyz as material."
"I can make multiple attacks!"
"First strike! Destroy Dark Armed!"
"Second strike! Destroy your Set monster!"
"Third strike! Direct attack!"
"Your LP are down to 1800!"
...
The advantage is taken back.
Or rather.
He's already computed the equation for victory.
Ranked-up Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon Overlord's furious multi-attacks.
With just 2000 LP, he forces the opponent down to 1800.
Originally, Kashtira's LP lead was an advantage.
But now.
That advantage is stripped away.
Yet after so many momentum swings.
At this moment.
Across the six dueling worlds.
No one believes the Odd-Eyes Entertainer is guaranteed to win.
Nor do they think the Entertainer's Shangri-Ira is certain to lose.
On the contrary.
They're all curious whether the Entertainer's Shangri-Ira can still break Odd-Eyes' board.
And in fact—as expected.
Entertainer's Shangri-Ira: "My turn! Draw!"
Entertainer's Shangri-Ira: "I Special Summon Kashtira Ogre!"
"Activate the effect to add the Trap Kashtira Preparations from my Deck!"
"Banish 1 card in the Graveyard! I then Special Summon Scareclaw Kashtira from my hand!"
"Rank 7 overlay!"
"Kashtira Shangri-Ira!"
"I activate Kashtira Riseheart in my hand to Special Summon!"
"Continue to trigger its effect! You must banish Kashtira Big Bang to resolve."
"You banish the top 3 cards of your Deck face-down, and this card's Level becomes 7."
"Shangri-Ira's effect—lock one of your Spell & Trap Zones!"
"My in-theme Trap Big Bang was banished, so I target Shangri-Ira's Scareclaw Kashtira!"
"Then I Special Summon Scareclaw Kashtira."
"Rank 7—construct the Overlay Network!"
"Riseheart and Scareclaw overlay!"
"Xyz Summon Dark Armed, the Dragon of Annihilation!"
...
Odd-Eyes Entertainer: "???"
A second Dark Armed?
What the—?
Are you playing Kashtira.
Or a Dark Armed deck?
One copy is understandable.
But a second copy?
Even more absurd—after this explosive line.
He clearly had a way to make the ultimate face-down-banish boss, Kashtira Arise-Heart.
But instead.
This guy made Dark Armed again.
Hold on—could it be!
Entertainer's Shangri-Ira: "Detach 1 to blow up your Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon Overlord."
Entertainer's Shangri-Ira: "Detach 1 more, blow up one of your Set back-row."
Seeing Magic Cylinder sent to the Graveyard.
Shangri-Ira smiles in satisfaction.
He knew it—these Entertainer types open with four Sets.
Then they set two more.
And still don't activate any protection.
It had to be a trap.
Dealing with the back-row is the top priority.
Entertainer's Shangri-Ira: "I figured your back-row was up to no good."
Entertainer's Shangri-Ira: "I set 1 card."
Entertainer's Shangri-Ira: "End my turn."
Odd-Eyes Entertainer: "So what?"
Odd-Eyes Entertainer: "My turn! Draw!"
Entertainer's Shangri-Ira: "At this moment I activate my set Trap, Kashtira Preparations."
Entertainer's Shangri-Ira: "I Special Summon a second Kashtira Fenrir from my hand."
"And revive Kashtira Unicorn from the Graveyard."
...
As expected.
All six dueling worlds show the exact same "of course" expression.
They all suspected Kashtira could continue to struggle on stubbornly.
And indeed, it forcibly wrests back advantage again.
With that many monsters on the field.
Odd-Eyes has no monsters.
Which means.
Trying to deal with a protected Shangri-Ira in one go.
Plus all those monsters.
Is incredibly difficult.
GX World.
"Dark Armed? A second Xyz Dark Armed!"
"Cool!"
"In one go it blew up two cards!"
Chazz, seeing there are two Dark Armed copies, has his interest piqued.
But thinking back to when he went from 1v3 to 1v5 to 1v7.
Chazz feels really sour.
High-world dueling is just too mysterious.
Even "Armed Dragon" is absurdly strong.
And this is the Xyz Dark Armed.
Chazz dares not imagine.
How strong the other "Armed Dragon" cards must be.
Odd-Eyes Entertainer: "So strong! Too strong! Since you already know I'm an Entertainer!"
"How could you not anticipate I might have Raigeki in hand?"
"I activate the Spell—Raigeki!"
"Destroy all monsters you control!"
Entertainer's Shangri-Ira: "Shangri-Ira detaches 1 to resist destruction!"
Odd-Eyes Entertainer: "I then activate Monster Reborn!"
"I'm reviving—"
"Your Fenrir!"
"Use your wolf—attack!"
"Activate effect! Your Shangri-Ira—banish it face-down!"
"Deal 2400 damage!"
"Your LP are 0!"
"Duel over!"
Like lightning.
That final ending sequence is executed so smoothly that duelists in all six worlds are left dumbfounded.
What was that?
Raigeki swing.
Monster Reborn.
Dang.
All in one breath—so smooth it's like he'd already foreseen exactly how to finish the opponent.
Even the opposing Entertainer's Shangri-Ira is petrified.
Raigeki? Huh? Raigeki?
Monster Reborn?
Then that last set card?
It was Magic Cylinder!
