A was beyond happy. His father had entrusted him with this mission — one that mattered not only politically, but personally.
This was revenge.
No one kills a Kumo shinobi and walks away unscathed.
At first, he had been cautious. After all, he'd heard plenty about Konoha's infamous shinobi — especially the legendary trio known as the Sannin.
Crowned in the last Great War, their names carried power and fear alike. The tales of their monstrous summons alone were enough to make even A's blood run cold.
After all, the only large summon he'd ever seen in his life was Gyūki — his brother B's tailed beast.
Even though the Sannin didn't possess such creatures, the thought of them still made his stomach twist. Was it trauma? Or cautious instinct? He didn't know.
But contrary to all his expectations, this mission had been laughably easy.Konoha's defense was unprepared. No big names, no reinforcements — just panic and slaughter.
It was pure annihilation.
A's cold eyes scanned the battlefield, landing on the bloodied corpses of fallen Jōnin. For a brief moment, satisfaction flickered in his gaze.
Then—
SWISH!
A sharp sound cut through the air.
His instincts screamed. Chakra surged into his legs as he dodged, lightning sparking to life around him.
A kunai whizzed past, missing his neck by an inch. A bead of sweat rolled down his cheek. If I hadn't dodged…
Before he could even relax, the kunai detonated.
White smoke exploded outward, filling his vision. His muscles tensed. Smoke bomb… clone? Transformation?
Through the haze, a fist shot out — pale, slender, and deceptively graceful. Yet A could feel the power behind it.
Lightning armor crackled to life around him at the last second. His shaken confidence steadied, and a cocky smirk crept back across his face.
He pushed off the ground. The earth cracked beneath his feet as he vanished — human lightning streaking through the clearing.
"Mess with Kumogakure," he growled, "and you die!"
His punch connected squarely with his attacker's head—
Only for the figure to explode into smoke.
Shadow clone?! His pupils contracted. Then the real one—
He turned sharply.
A massive wind blade was already screaming toward him.
He barely managed to cross his arms in front of himself before impact.
BOOM!
The blast tore through the ground. Even through his lightning cloak, deep gashes ripped across his forearms.
He gritted his teeth — half from pain, half from humiliation.
And then he saw him.
A man stood calmly amid the smoke. Long black hair tied back, pale skin catching the dim light, and slitted snake-like eyes that held no emotion.
A's expression darkened as realization struck.
One of the Three Sannin… Orochimaru, the Genius.
The man in such a small time executed such a difficult manoeuvre, Transforming his shadow clone into a kunai before throwing it at A.
The moment A dodged, the Kunai turned back into the shadow clone, using the white smoke as a blind screen to land an attack.
Seeing A dodge it, orochimaru had long since prepared his wind release Jutsu- All this planning, All these moves was culminated into one.. sure shot attack.
Such was the intellect of the man crowned as a Genius of the leaf.
....
Kyojiro's eyes widened at the sight before him. His ears twitched with every scream, his two-tomoe Sharingan spinning furiously.
The battlefield was a nightmare.
Corpses with their guts split open. Bodies still smoldering from lightning burns. The smell of iron and blood thick in the air.
It wasn't a fight — it was a massacre.
And in the midst of it, that familiar feeling stirred deep within him.
Rage.
His teeth clenched, his breathing deepened. His training with Jiraiya echoed in his mind.
"You don't have a choice, kid. It's either you or them. If you lose, Konoha burns."
Kyojiro's fists trembled. We have to win here… he thought. I have to protect as many as I can.
SWOOSH.
His katana tore through the air, a blazing streak of steel. His movement was so fast it left afterimages behind.
SLICE!
Screams followed. But this time, it was the Kumo shinobi who fell — their bodies cut cleanly in half.
Kyojiro didn't stop. His mind was calm, his fury absolute.
There was only one purpose behind his carnage.
I need to draw their attention to me.
With the Leaf Jōnin already dead, the Kumo attackers had begun slaughtering Konoha's lower ranks. If he could drag their focus toward him, even for a while — more lives could be saved.
Flame Breathing, First Form — Unknowing Fire!
A blazing arc swept across the field like a wave of pure flame.
Four Kumo shinobi fell in unison, their heads severed before they even realized what had happened.
For a brief instant, silence consumed the battlefield. Even the most hardened warriors felt the chill crawl down their spines.
Gone was Kyojiro's gentle nature. The Uchiha now moved like a demon of fire — a man who had abandoned humanity to become a storm of steel and vengeance.
But Kumo's elite weren't about to stand still.
The moment they spotted the fiery-haired swordsman, a dozen of them surged forward, lightning sparking across their bodies. Their speed spiked — their reflexes sharpened.
Two of them, both close-combat swordsmen, charged head-on.
Kyojiro felt the air shift behind him. Instinct screamed. His blade flashed in a perfect circular arc, clashing with both their weapons simultaneously.
CLANG!
A small shockwave rippled out from the collision. Sparks flew as metal met metal.
Kyojiro's eyes narrowed. Strong…
His Sharingan flicked across the field, analyzing — two in front, three circling behind.
Even through his rage, doubt whispered at the back of his mind. Can I really take on this many Jōnin at once?
He tightened his grip on his sword. No… I can't back down now.
A fleeting image crossed his mind — that of a man standing tall beneath the sun, flame-patterned cloak rippling in the wind.
If I retreat now… how can I ever call myself his successor?
He leapt backward, recalling Jiraiya's words:"First step of any shinobi combat — what they taught you at the Academy."
Kyojiro's hands blurred as he threw a wave of shuriken across the field.
Information gathering.
Know how they fight — and then dismantle it.
