As Simon Forrester left, Thomas Reed ruthlessly extinguished the half-smoked cigar in his hand in the ashtray, pacing back and forth in the office, highly agitated.
After a while, the door opened, but he didn't turn around; he stood at the floor-to-ceiling window behind his desk, looking at the view with his arms crossed.
A woman's fair arm snaked around his waist like a water snake, her delicate and alluring face resting on his shoulder.
"Why did Mr. Forrester come by today?" the woman asked as seductively as she could. "His mother was here this morning, and then him in the afternoon? Did you offend them?"
"I don't want to talk about it."
The woman snorted and released him, sitting on the large desk nearby, crossing her shapely, creamy legs and playing with an official seal decor placed on the table.
"Isn't your cousin getting on in years? How come he hasn't found a partner yet? Are his standards too high? What kind of girl is he looking for?"
