"Did I just say anything about sending you away?"
That one sentence left Chi Yu speechless, unable to respond.
Gu Yuan asked again, "And, did I just say anything about making you disappear again?"
Chi Yu still couldn't answer.
Because Gu Yuan hadn't said anything like that.
She hadn't said a single word; it was all in his imagination.
After a few seconds of silence, he spoke with an inexplicable certainty, "Not saying doesn't mean you won't do it. I've always known you well. You would do this; it's only a matter of time."
As he spoke, his deep eyes were fixed on her.
Just like what he had said earlier, his words penetrated her inside and out.
Gu Yuan snapped out of her daze, realizing that all her heartaches were self-inflicted. If it weren't for her past actions, it wouldn't have come to this. Every reaction and word of hers seemed to carry an ulterior motive in Chi Yu's eyes.
He loved her, but while loving her, he also had to be wary of the thorns on her.
