Chapter 6 - Chapter 2: A Perilous Situation

Liu Pengyi and Liu Zhenlan pretended to show concern and said a few words, then threw the "stubborn" Tang Yiyi aside, leaving the place "heartbroken." Tang Yiyi wasn't in the mood to act along with them; her mind was a mess, thinking that even if she gave birth, she would become a breeding machine!

Given her current criminal status, even if she bore children for them, they wouldn't possibly marry her, and might even erase her existence entirely, while the child she bore would never know of a mother like her. Such a dark and miserable life was not what Tang Yiyi wanted! She hadn't killed anyone, so why should she suffer such injustice? Those who should pay for their crimes were Liu Pengyi and Liu Zhenlan, who orchestrated all of this!

Tang Yiyi frowned. Although she hadn't killed anyone, the pregnant woman was indeed dead, and that couldn't be fabricated. So, who exactly killed her? Or perhaps Liu Pengyi and Liu Zhenlan really killed a heavily pregnant woman to frame her? However, the pregnant woman's identity seemed problematic; who was she?

She couldn't figure it out after pondering for a while, and just then the prison visit ended. A guard opened the door and said coldly: "The visit is over. Come out now, get ready to get on the car."

Business City had several Safe Cities, and the sanatorium Tang Yiyi had to go to was located in another Safe City; she would have to take a car there. The verdict was already decided, and she was to be sent away today, which was why Liu Pengyi and Liu Zhenlan came to visit her. Others who saw them looking worried assumed they were concerned for their foster daughter. Only Tang Yiyi knew that they had ulterior motives!

But if Liu Zhenlan hadn't deliberately revealed her future fate, Tang Yiyi might have stayed in the dark until the child in her belly was safely born!

Tang Yiyi glanced at the guard without speaking, stood up silently, and walked outside. Although this was a prison, since convicted prisoners were sent away to various places, there weren't many detained, making the path eerily quiet with only the sounds of breathing and footsteps.

Tang Yiyi was accompanied by a male and female guard. Due to her crime of killing a heavily pregnant woman in a fit of rage, even though she bore the title of a pregnant woman, the guards treated her with cold indifference. Even their gaze resembled that of looking at a psychopath murderer.

Tang Yiyi couldn't be bothered with this, her mind full of thoughts about what to do. She was going to a fully enclosed sanatorium, where although the environment was nice, her freedom would be severely restricted. The security measures at the sanatorium were impeccably done; outsiders couldn't enter, and insiders couldn't leave!

If she really ended up in such a place, as her belly grew larger, her mobility would only worsen, making it impossible to escape. But she was just a prisoner now, without a personal terminal, so how could she escape from the guards? These guards weren't ordinary people; they were Superpower Users!

She hadn't even awakened her superpowers, and she was pregnant, so how could she possibly be a match for these people? She couldn't even handle one guard, and those assigned for escort were certainly more than one!

The more Tang Yiyi thought, the more despair enveloped her heart; unfortunately, even if the road ahead was a path to hell, if she wanted revenge, she had to walk it step by step! Now she wasn't a match for these guards; clashing with them wouldn't benefit her. If she carelessly caused a miscarriage, she might immediately become someone's "breeding machine," or be sent to Evil Island.

She dared not gamble on this possibility, nor take reckless actions! The only thing she could do now was hope for some change in the coming months.

Though she was told to pack her belongings, she had hardly anything to pack. Soon, she was led to a stretched SUV. Tang Yiyi took a single glance and knew the outer shell and tires were made of high-defense materials, offering significant protection. Moreover, once inside, she found the interior very comfortable, with a seat specially designed for pregnant women in the right spot.

She was forced into the seat, designed to fit the body's curves perfectly, very comfortable; but as a prisoner, her limbs were restrained and couldn't move. After completing the formalities, once all the guards were aboard, the vehicle left the prison, heading out of Safe City.

An air purifier in the car filled the space with the refreshing scent of green tea. Tang Yiyi, sitting in the pregnant woman's seat, felt tired, possibly due to the comfort, and began to slowly fall asleep. She unknowingly dozed off for a bit until the car hit something and suddenly jolted her awake.

She instinctively looked around and caught a glimpse of one guard's eyes quickly flashing with panic! But upon realizing Tang Yiyi's gaze, he quickly composed himself, as if the panic earlier was Tang Yiyi's hallucination. Tang Yiyi knew it wasn't, because as she looked at him, alarm bells rang in her mind, and her intuition screamed that this man was dangerous!

Yet his behavior was so normal that no one could detect any issues. Tang Yiyi instinctively glanced at the others, who were unfazed, seemingly oblivious to the unrest. Instead, sensing her uneasiness, someone looked at her disdainfully, warning her with a glare to "behave."

Tang Yiyi dared not say a word, forced to observe her surroundings without drawing any attention. Soon, she found herself feeling groggy, as if she hadn't fully woken up. She bit her tongue, using the sharp pain to regain clarity. Then she wrinkled her nose and furrowed her brows tightly.

She finally understood why she had fallen asleep earlier; the air purifier in the car had been tampered with! This drug was probably effective only on ordinary people, as the guards seemed completely unaffected, leaving the sole affected person as her, the prisoner.

But she was indeed an ordinary person, so even knowing the air inside the car was laced with sleep-inducing drugs, she had no choice but to breathe. To prevent falling asleep again, Tang Yiyi could only continuously use pain to keep herself alert. She quickly glanced outside the car window, and her heart sank heavily.

They were already outside Safe City, where mutated creatures occasionally appeared, and she had just seen something flash by outside! That person tampered with the air purifier clearly intending to harm her. But what puzzled her was, with so many guards in the car, how did that person expect to succeed?

Or were all the people in the car bought off?

Tang Yiyi couldn't tell if her speculation was correct, but she knew her situation was increasingly precarious!
