I found the old library by accident.
It was several days after the incident in the training grounds. I'd been walking without purpose, drifting through corridors I had no reason to be in. Moving just to move, like maybe if I kept walking I could outpace the thoughts that wouldn't leave me alone.
Ravenshollow was big enough that there were still places I'd never seen, corners that seemed forgotten even by the servants.
The west wing was one of them.
The corridor was colder than the others, the stone was darker. I almost turned back when I noticed a door set slightly apart from the rest. It was unmarked, the handle dull with age, dust thick along the frame.
I hesitated. Then pushed it open.
