***Cassius***
Three days passed in a blur of packing and preparations.
By the final morning, my shop stood empty. Bare shelves, clean counters, all traces of the life I'd built here carefully packed away or transferred to the other healer who'd take over my patients.
I stood in the doorway looking at the space one last time, and all I could think about were Silas's words from two days ago.
I'd gone to see him the afternoon after Aldrik left my shop. Found him at his workshop like always, and told him I was leaving, going back to Ravenshollow to be with my family.
He was surprised but he'd taken it well, or at least he'd seemed to. Said he was happy for me, that I should be with people who loved me.
Then he'd mentioned what the town chief had announced the day before, that the man who'd stopped the fire was Aldrik Von Draven. That Sailcrest had been hosting great nobility without knowing it.
"He called you Cassius," Silas had said quietly. "I heard him do it twice. Not Caelan."
