"Xiao Hao? Are you free tomorrow?" Aunt Meijing was overjoyed to receive Su Hao's sudden call.
"Yes, I just finished chatting with the President, and she said there's no rehearsal tomorrow, so I'm free." Su Hao casually lied, "Aunt, shall we go out tomorrow?"
"Oh, that's wonderful, Xiao Hao. Where do you want to go?" Aunt Meijing asked softly.
"How about an amusement park? I've always wanted to ride a carousel," Su Hao thought for a moment and replied.
"Alright, then shall we meet tomorrow at nine in the morning?" Aunt Meijing asked obediently.
"Okay, then Aunt, goodnight."
"Goodnight." Aunt Meijing hung up the phone, took a deep breath, and then got up from Su Hao's bed.
She had been sleeping in Su Hao's bed for the past two days.
Looking at the bright moonlight outside the window, her lips curved slightly. It was rare for Xiao Hao to proactively ask her out, so she had to choose a good outfit.
Thinking this, she excitedly ran out, only to see Wan'en as soon as she pushed open the door.
"Mom? Why are you in Su Hao's room?" Wan'en held a glass of water, looking at Aunt Meijing with confusion.
"I was cleaning Xiao Hao's room today and forgot my phone here, so I came to get it," Aunt Meijing said, thinking quickly.
"Oh." Wan'en nodded, then hesitated before asking, "Mom, have you talked to Su Hao recently? Why hasn't he been home for two days? When I ask him, he always says he's busy."
"Xiao Hao has indeed been quite busy lately. Their club has rehearsals, so he can't spare any time."
"Sigh, alright then." Wan'en sighed. "I'm going back to my room. Mom, you should also go to bed early."
"Okay." Looking at Wan'en's retreating figure, Aunt Meijing felt a twinge of guilt.
She knew Wan'en liked Su Hao, and even Peilin liked him, and now, she was getting involved too. Was this really okay?
Aunt Meijing pressed her hand to her chest, her mind filled with countless thoughts.
But in the end, she still walked to her own room and began preparing her clothes for tomorrow.
Because she remembered that when Su Hao asked her out, she was happy, and that was enough.
Aunt Meijing decided to follow her feelings this time.
…
At nine in the morning, the sun rose, and under the clear blue sky, Su Hao sat on a bench in front of the amusement park, anxiously waiting for Aunt Meijing.
Ever since he learned about the fatal crisis awaiting him within a month yesterday, Su Hao couldn't sleep well, closing his eyes only to see images of his tragic death.
Yet, there was nothing in the Points Mall that could save his life. Su Hao could only place all his hopes on Lin Yingchun and Aunt Meijing.
Although he didn't know how they would save him, Su Hao could only try his best to conquer them within a month.
For this, Su Hao specifically wore his most handsome jacket today, all for the purpose of charming Aunt Meijing.
"Xiao Hao!" Just as Su Hao was getting anxious, a clear call rang out.
He turned his head and saw Aunt Meijing slowly approaching, amidst the astonished gazes of passersby.
"Sorry, there was traffic on the way. You must have been anxious waiting, right?" Standing in front of Su Hao, Aunt Meijing leaned down, tucking her long hair behind her ear as she spoke.
"It's fine, I just arrived a little while ago too." Su Hao looked at the surging waves before him, feeling his own heart become restless.
"Then let's go, what shall we play today?" Aunt Meijing turned to look at the amusement park, a girlish excitement in her eyes.
"How about we check out the haunted house first?" Su Hao said with ill intent.
The main reason he came to the amusement park was for this haunted house.
It was just like a horror movie; if you scare a girl, she'll naturally snuggle into your arms.
"Haunted house? Will it be very scary?" Aunt Meijing frowned, but a joy secretly bloomed in her heart.
If they went to the haunted house, she could legitimately hold onto Su Hao.
"It's fine, I'm here." Su Hao patted his chest. "Besides, it's daytime now, the yang energy is strong, it's a good time to go to a haunted house. If we went at night, we might actually meet real ghosts."
"Then… then alright." Aunt Meijing hesitated, then hugged Su Hao's shoulder. "Then let's go together."
"No problem!" Su Hao wrapped his arm around Aunt Meijing's waist, silently thinking "nice!"
He didn't know that Aunt Meijing was also secretly delighted in her heart.
And so, the two, each aiming to win over the other, entered the gloomy haunted house together.
As soon as he stepped into the haunted house, Su Hao froze, because it was too dark; the kind of darkness where you couldn't see your hand in front of your face.
Su Hao had never been to a haunted house before. He originally thought a haunted house just played some eerie background music and had some scary decorations and NPCs.
But looking at it now, it seemed very different from what he had imagined.
"Xiao… Xiao Hao, why is this place different from all the haunted houses I've been to before?" Aunt Meijing clung tightly to Su Hao's arm, her voice trembling slightly.
"It's fine, it's just a bit dark." Su Hao said, turning on the small flashlight the staff had given him.
A faint white light shone out, making the surroundings a little brighter.
Su Hao saw that it was a cave, about one and a half meters wide, just enough for two people to walk side by side.
"Should we go forward?" Aunt Meijing stared at the endless darkness ahead, whispering.
The flashlight's beam wasn't bright, only illuminating about half a meter in front.
"Of course, there are no forks here, we can only go forward. Aunt, hold my hand tightly."
Su Hao held the flashlight in his right hand, his left arm around Aunt Meijing's waist, and walked forward cautiously.
After only two steps, Aunt Meijing suddenly let out a scream.
"What's wrong?" Su Hao quickly turned his head to look at Aunt Meijing.
"S-something fell on my back," Aunt Meijing said, trembling as she huddled in Su Hao's arms.
"Let me see." Su Hao raised his flashlight and shone it on her back. He saw a drop of blood-red liquid on her shoulder.
"It's nothing, it's nothing, it's just water. The cave is too damp." Su Hao reached out and wiped away the drop of blood, then slowly looked up at the cave ceiling.
A somewhat dim skull came into his view, and blood was flowing from the eye sockets of the skull.
"Xiao Hao, what did you see?" Aunt Meijing saw the troubled expression on Su Hao's face and also looked up.
"Don't look!" Su Hao pressed down on Aunt Meijing's head and repeated, "Don't look."
"Okay, I won't look." Aunt Meijing quickly lowered her head.
"Let's keep going." Su Hao pulled Aunt Meijing forward, his gaze returning from the skull.
As they walked, drops of blood fell from the cave ceiling, some landing on them, others on the ground, forming small puddles of blood.
"This cave is indeed too damp." Perhaps it was too oppressive, so Su Hao spoke, hoping to lighten the mood.
"Yeah, I feel like my clothes and shoes are soaked." Aunt Meijing frowned, her face slightly flushed.
No wonder I felt the texture change a bit, Su Hao muttered to himself, but said aloud, "After this section, it should be better."
After speaking, he turned his head to see how much further the cave extended, but instead saw an unknown rectangular object at the very end of his vision.
"Xiao Hao, is that... is that... a coffin?" Aunt Meijing also noticed the rectangular object and asked in a terrified voice.
