Chapter 8 - Chapter 6

Xue Huiyi, upon hearing this, felt better. She casually gave Ji Heng some psychological hints, saying that she didn't even know Su Xiaocai, and that it was odd how Su Xiaocai disliked her and was very different from others she interacted with.

Every statement didn't speak ill of Su Xiaocai, yet every sentence hinted at Su Xiaocai's lowly background and lack of manners.

Ji Heng didn't comment. His good upbringing from a young age made him incapable of judging a girl he didn't know.

It was clear that Xue Huiyi had instigated the conflict, but it was the other party who backed down.

But Xue Huiyi was his fiancée, and Ji Heng had to side with her. His mother had told him to always consider his fiancée's feelings.

As the dishes arrived, Ji Heng had no desire to speak. "Let's eat. I'm a bit pressed for time."

Xue Huiyi lowered her eyelids, concealing the coldness within, and obediently smiled while eating.

Su Xiaocai, intending to return to school, was caught up by her dorm mates and dragged elsewhere. "Let's go eat somewhere else. Xiao Cai, aren't you fond of farming? I know where the biggest plant trading market is. Let's check it out together later."

Su Xiaocai, naturally optimistic, didn't dwell on why they didn't seize this chance to befriend Xue Huiyi. "Sure."

Liu Xun, Hu Ping, and Pan Mingjie also joined in.

Saying they would eat together.

During the meal, the girls uncovered basic information about the three boys.

All three guys were studying the Mecha major.

Apart from Liu Xun, Hu Ping and Pan Mingjie were locals from Capital Star.

Hu Ping came from the best background, belonging to a wealthy family with plenty of mines. He loved gossip, knowing which female celebrity had an affair with a seemingly tough yet weak muscle man.

Pan Mingjie was very quiet, eating quietly and chatting quietly, like an invisible shadow.

As for Liu Xun, he was a straightforward guy. Despite clearly having a good impression of Xing Miao, he foolishly failed to express it, missing the chance to show his feelings.

The overall atmosphere among the seven was great, but the meal left Su Xiaocai slightly uncomfortable in her stomach.

The food was mostly raw, the steak was rare, the vegetables were also raw, and worst of all, there was a dish called raw marinated crab meat with fries, an extreme culinary experience.

The fries were fried golden but unsalted.

The crab meat was crisp and smooth but not without its fishy odor.

Barely managing two bites, Wu Qingqing, who claimed to be her rebellious disciple, placed another piece of crab meat on her plate.

Might as well embrace destruction. She would never venture out to eat again.

Su Xiaocai took a sip of lemon tea to mask the crab's fishy taste.

She couldn't wait to settle the bill.

Although they split the bill, she still felt a pang for her wallet. On Su's Planet, crabs were free for the taking by the seaside, and they tasted a hundred times better.

The food was bad and costly; she would never dine out again.

Lunch concluded, and the group headed to the plant trading market.

Capital Star truly lived up to being the most populated planet; the trading market was absurdly large. Not only did it have the largest plant trading market, but there was also a machine parts market, clothing and crafts stores, and local specialties in abundance.

Feng Wansha wanted to browse the machine parts market because it displayed the latest models of Mecha available in the market, and she wished to see them up close.

Su Xiaocai noticed that her roommates and the boys wanted to go as well, so she waved them off, saying they didn't need to accompany her.

They wouldn't understand planting matters, and going with her would surely bore them.

Thus, with Su Xiaocai's insistence, the three boys and three girls went to the machine parts market, while Su Xiaocai wandered through the plant stores alone.

Agricultural Research Institute had already allocated land to newcomers during enrollment, and the admission documents included the planting tasks for new students this year.

The task content was flexible—grains, fruits, or vegetables could be chosen. Any ordinary variety would do, successfully growing it would require writing reflections, reports, and papers.

If not successful, a mentor would guide them to continue planting in the second year.

Additionally, there was a daunting cultivation task without a deadline, akin to the scope of postgraduate thesis research at the Agricultural Research Institute.

Several plants with high medicinal value needed student research. If fully researched and successfully grown on a large scale, congratulations were in order, as it would lead to graduation and an honor certificate.

For those without research results, only a diploma would be granted.

Since receiving her acceptance letter, Su Xiaocai had been pondering this issue.

During the meal, she also kept an eye on the menu's vegetable varieties and noticed that bamboo shoots weren't on it.

The specialty area they passed just now didn't have anyone selling them either.

Su's Planet had a kind of bamboo shoot, Martial Emperor Bamboo. Records of it existed online, but not detailed ones, since not every plant was studied.

With so many plants and slight climate differences on each planet, it was no exaggeration to say there could easily be trillions of them combined.

So Su Xiaocai named this bamboo herself.
