Kiki's makeup was still on her face, now a shade darker than before, with a pair of rigid black-framed glasses perched on her nose. It seemed she had done quite a bit of preparation for this audition.
Maya exhaled a breath of relief; it was good that the protagonist was competitive. This way, she could leave quickly and get something to eat.
Kiki stopped in front of Maya, her head slightly bowed, casting a disdainful sidelong glance at her.
But before she could say anything, Maya's impatient voice rang out:
"This isn't a thoroughfare. Why are you squeezing in here? Don't you know blocking someone's view is rude?"
Kiki's expression stiffened, then she smiled and said, "I just wanted to have a chat with you. You don't mind, do you?"
Maya, with a lollipop still in her mouth, absentmindedly raised her head and snorted, "I mind a lot."
"If you know you're annoying, then don't bother coming near others."
