Simon also looked at her amusedly and said, "Did you notice when that old man spoke earlier, his speech had a heavy dialect accent?"

"Exactly, each region has its own accent unless someone speaks very standard Mandarin. But even Mandarin has regional differences, like here we often mix up 'n' and 'l', Northerners have a northeastern accent, and when people from Fujian start talking, it's in the Hokkien dialect," Simon slowly explained to Vivian, "Once that old man spoke, he had a very strong dialect accent, and at his age, it's not something you can change."
