Zane Thorne looked grim after Theodore Langdon hung up on him. And... it was clear that Theodore Langdon was nervous just now.
Why be nervous? Unless you have something to hide.
Zane tossed the phone to Felix Langdon and grabbed his own phone to call Genevieve Joyce. The call connected quickly, and as Genevieve was about to greet loudly and respectfully, Zane cut straight to the question.
"Where's Mrs. Thorne?"
Genevieve, with impeccable professionalism, was momentarily caught off-guard by her boss's sudden question.
"Um... Mrs. Thorne..."
Genevieve hesitated, torn about whether to tell the truth or not.
Seeing Genevieve's dilemma, Zane let out a cold snort. Wasn't it obvious?
"Speak."
Genevieve immediately lowered her head and responded firmly, "Yes."
"Mrs. Thorne finished work early today and headed straight to the airport. She booked a flight to Astra City and landed half an hour ago."
Zane's tone turned icy.
"Why didn't you report this to me?"
