Although Dragon had entrusted his son to his own father to raise from a young age, to the point where Luffy couldn't even remember his father's face growing up, Dragon's primary reason was the extreme danger associated with his work with the Revolutionary Army.
To avoid drawing attention, he intentionally kept his distance from his son.
This was fundamentally different from the trio of Roger, Shanks, and Yasopp, who actively abandoned their wives and children.
This could be seen from how he personally saw Luffy off at Loguetown, and later repeatedly dispatched Revolutionary Army's cadres to protect his son from the shadows.
It showed a degree of concern for his son.
Compared to Roger, who hit it and quit it, having a child but taking no responsibility, Dragon was indeed a hundred thousand times better.
However, this paternal love was now about to become his death warrant.
Because Dragon, who understood Luffy's personality very well, knew perfectly that if Nami and Robin remained on Jin's ship, by the time the agreed-upon [3D2Y] reunion day for the Straw Hat Pirates arrived in two months, Luffy, having completed his training, would definitely come looking for Jin.
Knowing full well about Jin's various actions up to now, Dragon would rather Luffy provoke a Marine Admiral like Borsalino than have him go up against Jin.
This guy really doesn't play pirate games.
Once he confirms someone as his enemy, he will mercilessly eliminate them.
After much internal struggle,
Dragon decided to seize this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take Nami and Robin away.
Even though Jin would most likely come after them again, the world was, after all, a very big place.
Finding a specific person wasn't easy.
At the very least, it was better than Luffy delivering himself to Jin's doorstep, right?
"Dr-Dragon-san, wh-what's going on?"
"Wh-what happened? I remember we were just blown into the sky by the wind?"
"Am... am I dreaming?"
Koala, Nami, and Robin looked around in utter confusion.
Because they found themselves standing on the artificial lawn on the deck of the Sunny.
'How... how was this possible?'
They clearly remembered being swept high into the air by the storm Dragon created, flying hundreds of meters away from Sunny in the blink of an eye.
So how could they be back on Sunny with just a flicker of an eye?
Dragon himself was also dumbfounded.
He turned his head with an expression of utter disbelief.
He saw Jin sitting on the public bench near the mast, legs crossed, looking at the four of them with a smile.
As the one among the four who had spent the most time with Jin, the surprise on Nami's face was actually the least.
She had seen too many unbelievable feats from Jin already.
From the looks on the faces of Konan, Gyuki, and the others around them, Nami deduced that they didn't know what was going on either.
A drop of sweat trickled down the side of Dragon's face.
The skeptical Revolutionary Army's Supreme Commander summoned another storm, causing himself and the three women to rise, riding the wind.
Once again, they escaped Sunny in the blink of an eye.
Yet, with another flicker, Nami and the others found themselves standing on Sunny again.
The familiar scenery, the familiar lawn, and the familiar sight of Jin sitting on the bench, legs crossed, looking at them mockingly.
'Wh-what kind of ability is this?'
Falling for it twice in a row made it difficult for the Revolutionary Army's Supreme Commander to remain calm.
If Jin had only displayed overwhelming power, he wouldn't be so panicked.
The problem was, he didn't even know what was happening.
That was terrifying.
Jin had no intention of answering Dragon's question.
He stood up leisurely from the bench and said with a smile, "Logia-type Kaze Kaze no Mi? Or perhaps the Weather Fruit that can control various climates? Whichever it is, it's an exceptionally excellent fruit." (T/N: Wind-Wind Fruit.)
As soon as Jin finished speaking, Dragon and the others heard the sound of ships cutting through the waves behind them.
Turning to look, they saw two large ships, with huge logs forming their sides, speeding towards them.
"That's... the Blackbeard Pirates' Saber of Xebec!"
Koala exclaimed in shock.
As the other pirate on the seas, besides Jin, who didn't play pirate games, the Blackbeard Pirates were arguably the pirate group that had clashed with the Revolutionary Army the most in the past two years.
"So, you really did reach some kind of agreement with the Blackbeard Pirates."
Dragon said solemnly.
Previously, Jin handing over Aramaki's body to Shiryu had sparked much speculation.
Such a valuable thing...
Jin wouldn't just give it away for free.
He must have made some deal with the Blackbeard Pirates.
"Kurenai, your Devil Fruit is settled."
Ignoring Dragon's question, Jin said cheerfully to Kurenai, who was now standing behind him.
Jin's words caused Koala's expression to change drastically once more.
In the nearly two years since the Summit War, Blackbeard Pirates' reputation as [Ability Hunters] had spread across the seas.
Now, the Blackbeard crew was heading this way, and Jin was saying such things, did they even need to guess what he intended to do?
"Jin! He's Luffy's father!"
Nami cried out.
"I killed Usopp's dad, what's stopping me from dealing with Luffy's?"
Jin said indifferently:
"But let me clarify, Yasopp was killed by Little Eight. I just provided the weapon."
As soon as he finished speaking, Dragon's arms transformed into a faintly visible, spiraling storm form.
Elementalization!
Koala also raised her hands to her chest, left hand forward, right hand back, assuming the starting stance of Fish-Man Karate.
"Big-eyed little sister, don't meddle in others' business. I quite like your selfless character. As long as you don't make a move, I won't do anything to you."
Jin said with a sidelong glance and a light laugh.
Almost instantly, Jin and Dragon threw punches simultaneously.
A cyclone air cannon, thick as a pillar supporting the sky, and raging black flames collided violently in mid-air.
"Sunny will be destroyed!"
Nami screamed.
However, the next second, Nami and the others felt a violent tremor beneath their feet.
They discovered Sunny was inexplicably flying into the air without anyone at the helm, and quickly moving away from the battlefield.
Nami, quickly realizing what was happening, turned her gaze to Konan, who had raised her right hand.
Too many major events had happened tonight, causing her to forget that there was a user of the Fuwa Fuwa no Mi on board.
In the distance, wind and fire collided fiercely.
Wind currents mixed with flames scattered in all directions, causing the air to warp unnaturally.
"Oy oy! What's going on over there? Who's fighting?"
On the deck of the left Saber of Xebec approaching from the other side, Blackbeard shouted, looking up.
Laffitte, the Fifth Ship Captain and navigator of the Blackbeard Pirates, took out a telescope and looked, "Captain, it's Uchiha Jin and Monkey D. Dragon."
Originally, the World Government's wanted poster for Dragon only listed his name as Dragon.
However, after his relationship with Garp and Luffy was exposed, the whole world learned his real name.
"Ooh! So that's the ability of the Revolutionary Army's Supreme Commander. Not bad at all."
Blackbeard stroked the beard on his chin, smacking his lips.
"Do we have a chance to claim it for ourselves?"
"I advise you not to provoke prey that Uchiha Jin has his eyes on."
Shiryu, who Jin had encountered at Gran Tesoro, walked up from behind.
As always, he had a cigar in his mouth, squinting his eyes.
"You know what happened to Ryokugyu, don't you?"
"Zehahaha~ Just kidding, just kidding~"
Blackbeard laughed awkwardly.
Knowing when to advance and when to retreat was one of his greatest strengths.
After Shiryu returned from Gran Tesoro, he had told Blackbeard everything about his experiences in the city of gold.
After hearing about Jin's deeds, Blackbeard felt both shocked and exhilarated.
Another monster had come to compete with him for the throne.
But this made it even more fun!
"What should we do, Captain Teach?"
Laffitte asked, looking sideways.
"Now that we have a transaction agreement with the Uchiha Pirates crew, would it be better to lend a hand? Or... take advantage of the situation."
"Wait! Let's see the outcome of this fight first."
After thinking about it, Blackbeard felt it was better not to act rashly.
Personally, he hoped both Jin and Dragon would be severely wounded.
Then he could seize the abilities of both top-tier fighters.
Although the possibility was extremely slim, it wasn't completely impossible, right?
Just like during the Summit War, his chances of success were also infinitesimally close to zero.
Capturing Ace, becoming a Warlord, infiltrating Impel Down, returning to Marineford to steal Newgate's ability...
Which step had a high success rate?
But in the end, didn't he become the biggest winner of that war?
...
"Dragon Claw: Hurricane Wild Dance!"
Dragon pressed his index and middle fingers together, and his ring finger and pinky together on his right hand, forming a claw shape.
Compressed emerald-green wind pressure gathered between his five fingers.
Tearing through the air, it shot forward.
By observing Dragon's fighting style, one could tell that Sabo's combat skills were entirely taught by him.
However, combined with the power of his Devil Fruit and even more formidable physical prowess, Dragon could be called the ultimate, top-tier version of Sabo.
'But never mind a top-tier Sabo.'
'Even if you were a top-tier Whitebeard, you'd have to leave your life here today!'
Jin's body surface suddenly erupted with silvery-white Susanoo rib bones, growing a giant skeletal hand holding a Chakra Sword.
It met Dragon's claw attack head-on.
Their attacks collided once again.
Waves dozens of meters high, one after another, threatened to capsize the two watching ships in the distance.
Boom-
Blackbeard threw a punch against the air beside him.
A shockwave spread out in the opposite direction, actually managing to calm the turbulent waves.
In the chatroom of the deceased, Ace and Newgate's eyes were bloodshot.
They wished they could rush out immediately and grind this despicable man to dust.
[Roger: @Newgate: So this is the kid with the [D] in his name you told me about, the one on your ship? I never thought he'd steal your ability. Next time, be more careful about who you recruit onto your crew!]
Before turning himself in to the Marines, he had shared a drink with Whitebeard.
It was then that he learned Whitebeard also had a guy with a [D] in his name on his ship.
[Ace: @Roger, You watch out in your next life too. Don't let me find you, or you'll get what's coming to you!]
Roger broke out in a cold sweat.
Every time he spoke in the group, there was a 99% chance Ace would come out to retort.
