Chapter 134 - Zhū Qīng and I Are Husband and Wife

The fifth traversal through parallel worlds came to an end.

It concluded with the execution of Yu Xiaogang and the capture of Zhu Zhuqing.

Zhou Sidong carried Zhu Zhuqing in his arms as he walked through the seven-colored passageway. He glanced down at her and couldn't help sighing.

"How am I supposed to explain this to Zhuqing now…"

Ever since Zhu Zhuqing learned that Zhou Sidong could travel through parallel worlds, and after listening to his smug explanation, she came to understand that in another timeline, another version of herself existed.

Truthfully speaking, Zhou Sidong had wanted to do this for a long time.

The little cat belonged to him—always had, always would. No one was taking her away.

He had already given the Zhu Zhuqing of the main world a heads-up beforehand. Back then, she had merely looked at him with a half-smile, saying nothing at all.

Now, Zhou Sidong had abducted the Zhu Zhuqing from a parallel world. On one hand, he didn't want her ending up with Dai Mubai. If the two of them really got together, it would be no different from him getting cuckolded.

On the other hand—

He wanted to enjoy the blessing of having more than one.

The biggest problem right now, however, was that the Zhu Zhuqing in his arms hated him.

Back in the Star Dou Forest, when he had taken advantage of her, it had also planted the seeds of conflict between her and Dai Mubai later on.

Otherwise, Zhou Sidong wouldn't have had any chance with this parallel-world Zhu Zhuqing at all.

There was a saying: from love comes hate.

The more you hate someone now, the more you'll love them in the future.

"Hopefully this doesn't turn into a bloodbath of jealousy…"

Zhou Sidong sighed, stepped out of the seven-colored passageway, and returned to the main world.

The moment he arrived at Qian Renxue's residence, the Zhu Zhuqing in his arms showed signs of waking up.

When she opened her clear, watery eyes and locked gazes with Zhou Sidong—

"Ahhh!!!"

A sharp, piercing scream echoed throughout the room.

Zhu Zhuqing sprang out of his arms, quickly checking her clothes. Seeing that they were still neat and intact, she finally let out a breath of relief.

"Who are you? …Where is this? What do you want by bringing me here?"

Fear flashed across her face. Three soul rings lit up beneath her feet as she stared at Zhou Sidong with intense vigilance.

Zhou Sidong didn't answer her immediately.

After dismissing Porcupinefish Douluo, who had rushed in due to the scream, he finally walked toward her.

"D-Don't come any closer!"

Zhu Zhuqing was extremely sensitive right now. The boy before her held far too many secrets. Not only was he powerful, but most importantly—

He had kidnapped her.

Looking at the utterly unfamiliar surroundings, Zhu Zhuqing understood that this time, she was doomed.

There were many bad people in the world.

And in her eyes, Zhou Sidong was the worst of them all.

"Let me introduce myself," Zhou Sidong said calmly. "My name is Zhou Sidong. I'm fourteen years old. And you—Zhu Zhuqing—are my partner."

Zhu Zhuqing's face instantly flushed red. She clenched her teeth and snapped,

"I don't even know you! You—"

She was rendered speechless by his shamelessness.

"Where is this?! Send me back immediately!" Zhu Zhuqing said angrily.

"This is the Douluo Continent. Where else would it be?" Zhou Sidong smiled, then added after looking her over, "But this isn't Spirit Hall. This is Heaven Dou City."

"Heaven Dou City?!"

Zhu Zhuqing froze.

Rubbing the spot on her neck where Zhou Sidong had knocked her out, she asked in confusion,

"H-How long was I unconscious?"

Traveling from Spirit Hall to Heaven Dou City would take at least half a month.

Could it be that she had spent half a month alone with this boy?

For someone as clean-living as Zhu Zhuqing, that was an extremely serious issue.

"Only a short while. I didn't hit you that hard," Zhou Sidong said casually, watching her adorable confusion with growing amusement.

"I don't care who you are or where I am—send me back. Right now!" Zhu Zhuqing said fiercely.

"Back to where?" Zhou Sidong countered. "Back to Dai Mubai's side?"

The moment Dai Mubai's name was mentioned, Zhu Zhuqing's expression darkened.

Over the past two years, conflicts between her and Dai Mubai had only grown. Staying together would only worsen things.

The last time, Dai Mubai had taken the initiative to soften his stance and asked her to perform a Martial Soul Fusion Skill together—

She had refused.

A Martial Soul Fusion Skill required perfect unity of heart and mind. Between her and Dai Mubai, the cracks had long since formed.

Expecting such a miracle was wishful thinking at best.

"Sorry. That was my mistake," Zhou Sidong said. "Before I answer your question, I want you to come with me somewhere—to meet someone."

He looked at her with unprecedented sincerity.

After a long moment of eye contact, Zhu Zhuqing finally nodded.

Not because she was moved—

But because she was trapped like a caged bird, stripped of freedom.

"Put this on."

Zhou Sidong took out a black cloak from his soul guide ring and handed it to her.

"What? Am I that shameful to be seen?" Zhu Zhuqing frowned.

"What you're about to see will seriously challenge your worldview," Zhou Sidong said solemnly. "I hope you prepare yourself mentally."

Zhu Zhuqing took the cloak and put it on, concealing her appearance completely.

"Fits well," Zhou Sidong nodded, then led her into the city.

The scene before her shocked the Zhu Zhuqing from the parallel world.

It felt… familiar.

"This… this is… Heaven Dou City…" Zhu Zhuqing covered her mouth, then stared at Zhou Sidong in disbelief.

"That's right," Zhou Sidong nodded.

Because of the black cloak, Zhu Zhuqing attracted quite a bit of attention as they walked.

"But the Continental Advanced Soul Master Elite Tournament just ended… why is this—"

She looked at the city decorations: lanterns, banners, and clear announcements marking the opening day of the tournament.

Zhu Zhuqing stopped in her tracks.

She rubbed her temples.

She felt like she had actually time-traveled.

She had just finished the finals—then got knocked out by this boy—and now the tournament was just starting?

Was the world joking with her?!

Zhu Zhuqing turned to Zhou Sidong, her face filled with fear.

"What exactly did you do to me?" she asked coldly.

"If you want answers, don't speak," Zhou Sidong replied. "Follow me to the Heaven Dou Grand Arena. Everything will be explained there."

With that, he grabbed her hand.

"I can walk on my own!"

She tried to break free, but she was far too weak. In the end, she could only be dragged along.

The Heaven Dou Grand Arena was bustling with people—crowds everywhere.

A once-in-five-years grand event. Miss it, and you'd regret it for a lifetime.

In this era of poor communication, such a tournament was equivalent to the Olympics of Zhou Sidong's previous life.

"Good. We made it in time."

Zhou Sidong looked at the utterly stunned Zhu Zhuqing beside him.

Because on the stage below, a scene incredibly familiar to her was unfolding.

"Xiao Wu… Jiang Zhu… Huang Yuan… Jing Ling… Ma Hongjun… that short-haired boy… Tang Yin… and…"

She bit her lip.

"Dai Mubai."

That's right.

The match currently underway was the opening battle between Shrek Academy and Heaven Dou Royal Academy's Second Team.

And the leader of Heaven Dou Royal Academy's Second Team—

Was Zhu Zhuqing.

Not the one sitting beside Zhou Sidong.

But the Zhu Zhuqing of this world.

The match had already been going on for some time.

Four soul rings lit up beneath Zhu Zhuqing's feet—two yellow, one purple, one black.

The sight left the Zhu Zhuqing in the stands utterly stunned.

"That's… another me?"

She pointed at herself instinctively.

"Then… what am I?"

"You're you," Zhou Sidong explained. "And she's you too—just the version from this world. The Spirit Hall I went to earlier belonged to another world, so I brought you here."

At first, Zhu Zhuqing was confused.

This world? That world?

What was this boy even talking about?

But when realization finally hit—

She stared at the version of herself on the stage, who was crushing Dai Mubai and the others.

"That's me… and I'm me… she's this world's me, and I come from another world…"

Her heart couldn't calm down.

On the arena, Zhu Zhuqing fought seven against one.

With Soul King-level soul power and Soul Elder-level ring configuration, she completely overwhelmed them.

Dai Mubai knelt on one knee, gasping, his hands trembling uncontrollably.

"So strong…"

Inside, he roared,

"What the hell has that bitch Zhu Zhuqing been through?! Seven of us together and we still can't beat her?! Damn it!"

"Zhu Zhuqing—you bitch!"

Dai Mubai's face was livid, blood trickling from his lips, wounds covering his body.

Tang San wasn't much better—his back bore a long gash, blood soaking his clothes.

Ma Hongjun had already lost the ability to fight and was carried off.

The rest were barely holding on.

Moments ago, Zhu Zhuqing had single-handedly crushed the entire Shrek team.

A legendary one-versus-seven scene—played out against Shrek themselves.

"Dai Mubai, you were never my match in the past—and you won't be in the future either."

"And you, Tang San. Don't think that reaching Soul Elder through hard work means you've closed the gap between us."

Facing them as a victor, Zhu Zhuqing stood tall.

Tang San clenched his fists, flames burning in his eyes.

Silently, his left hand reached for his belt.

"You relied on Zhou Sidong's immortal herbs. Your physical strength is far above ours," Tang San panted bitterly. "Of course we can't beat you."

The imbalance in his heart exploded.

Immortal herbs—taken by Zhou Sidong!

In the next instant, Tang San stood up, pulled out a Golden Dragon Whisker Needle from the Twenty-Four Moonlit Bridges.

His hand turned jade-white.

Before Zhu Zhuqing could react—

The needle pierced her shoulder.

"Now's our chance! Everyone, attack!"

Tang San was overjoyed.

Dai Mubai forced himself up.

Xiao Wu rose as well.

Tang San opened a path with Blue Silver Grass. Dai Mubai fired White Tiger Radiant Light Wave.

Xiao Wu teleported behind Zhu Zhuqing—Waist Bow ready!

"Oh no—she's in danger!"

The Zhu Zhuqing in the stands frowned deeply.

"Relax. That Zhuqing is fake," Zhou Sidong said calmly.

Tang San was still too young.

On the arena—

The moment Xiao Wu made contact, Zhu Zhuqing turned into a cloud of black mist and vanished.

At the same time—

Dai Mubai's White Tiger Radiant Light Wave slammed straight into Xiao Wu's face.

Boom!

After the smoke cleared, Xiao Wu lay on the ground, eyes rolled back, hair frizzed, face blackened with soot.

"Xiao Wu!"

Tang San rushed over, then shot a furious glare at Dai Mubai.

A chill ran down Dai Mubai's spine.

"Xiao San! I was aiming at that bitch Zhu Zhuqing! Where did she go?!"

He looked around frantically.

Suddenly—

A cold presence rose behind him.

"Dai Mubai, you bastard. I'm returning those words to you—exactly."

Zhu Zhuqing struck fiercely, her aura completely overwhelming him.

Watching Dai Mubai get beaten half to death by another version of herself, the Zhu Zhuqing in the stands felt inexplicably… delighted.

Her hands, hidden beneath the cloak, even mimicked the movements.

Her clear eyes were locked on the battle as if she herself were on the arena.

Zhou Sidong watched silently, smiling.

Good thing he came back in time.

Missing such a show would've been a tragedy.

"Dai Mubai. Tang San."

"The gap between us… is this big."

Zhu Zhuqing brushed her hands off and glanced disdainfully at the battered duo.

She thought they'd be tougher.

That's it?

"Heaven Dou Royal Academy Second Team versus Shrek Academy—Heaven Dou Royal Academy Second Team wins!"

The announcer declared the result.

Thunderous applause and cheers erupted.

Dai Mubai lay on the ground, eyes filled with hatred and killing intent.

"Zhu Zhuqing… I'll make you pay…"

Tang San stared blankly.

"Why didn't my hidden weapon work?"

He had seen the needle pierce her shoulder.

Why was it useless?

He took out another Dragon Whisker Needle and pricked his finger—

Blood sprayed instantly.

"That was Zhuqing's fourth soul skill—Nether Shadow Assassination Array. It can create a perfect duplicate of herself," Zhou Sidong explained.

He patted the cloaked Zhu Zhuqing beside him.

"Show's over. Time to go."

"Go?" Zhu Zhuqing frowned, alert again. "Where?"

"Don't you want to meet Zhu Zhuqing—your other self?"

Her heart skipped.

Meeting another version of herself?

Wouldn't that be… unbearably awkward?

"You… know her?" she asked cautiously. "What's your relationship?"

"Husband and wife," Zhou Sidong replied casually.

"Oh… husband and wife… wait—WHAT?!"

Zhu Zhuqing's eyes widened in disbelief.

"You—say that again!"

"I'm dating Zhuqing. We're just one step away from marriage."

Silence.

Her heart couldn't settle.

"So that's why you brought me to this world?" she asked softly.

"That's right," Zhou Sidong nodded. "I don't want you ending up with anyone else in another timeline."

Now she finally understood why he had abducted her.

"So that's how it is…"

"But I hate you," Zhu Zhuqing said coldly. "What you did to me in the Star Dou Forest—you haven't paid for that yet."

The memory made her grind her teeth.

Zhou Sidong didn't mind at all.

He smiled lightly.

"That's fine. Feelings can be cultivated."

"You think I'll ever fall in love with you?" Zhu Zhuqing shot back, eyes icy.
