The little girl entered the police station and immediately, she gathered a lot of attention. The police woman walked towards her and asked softly
"What are you doing here little girl?"
The little girl replied
"I'm looking for my mommy. Big sister said that she's here"
The police woman already had a hunch that it's the missing girl that the woman inside was reporting. But when she heard the child's words, it's finally confirmed. Then, she smiled and said to the child
"Yes. You're mommy is here. I will take you to her"
The child immediately turned happy
"Okay!"
Then, the two of them walked towards the corner and entered the room. A woman was crying while describing what happened earlier to a police officer. The cop was recording her statement and listening to her story
As the door opened, they both looked at the police woman and the child besides her. Then, the woman immediately got up and rushed to her child
"My baby!! Thank God you're here!"
"Mommy!"
The child also ran towards her mother and they hugged each other. They both cried and the two police officers sighed at the sight. After their tearful reunion, the police finally asked the child
"Hello little girl. Can I ask you a question?"
The little girl hesitated, but her mother said to her
"You can tell them. They're good people"
The child then nodded and waited. The police officer asked
"Did you know to head to the police station when you're lost?
The child shook her head
"I don't know. I seek help from a big sister. She said that she will help me find my mommy"
The woman looked concernedly at her child. Thankfully, the woman that her daughter seek help from is kind. If it's a bad person, she dreads what could've happened. The police then said
"So, that big sister accompanied you here?"
The child then nodded and she excitedly said
"Yes! She had magical powers! She said that she's a magical girl!"
The woman and the two police officers smiled at her innocence. Then, her mother teased her
"Is that so? What did she say about her powers?"
The little girl giggled and said
"She can sniff! Like a dog!"
The two cops laughed and shook their heads. The little girl's mother laughed while she hugged her daughter
'No matter who she is. I'm thankful for her'
Then, the three adults soon heard the little girl said
"That's why I'm able to find mommy. She sniffed my handkerchief that my mommy gave me and we arrived here"
The three of them turned silent as if someone pushed the pause button. Then, the two police officers looked at each other with confusion and asked the little girl
"So. She sniffed the handkerchief that your mother gave you. And followed the smell towards here?"
The little girl nodded excitedly and pulled out the fabric. As her mother saw her handkerchief, her eyes widened and the emotion of gratitude towards the mysterious woman turned into fear. The distance between here and the place where her child was lost was 5 kilometers. The fact that she can track someone based on smell alone, no matter far, terrifies her
'And, she remembered my smell and my daughter's smell. Is it possible that she's going to appear in our house at any given anytime'
She shivered and hugged her child tightly
The two police officers were also affected. They felt that the room suddenly turned cold and goosebumps appeared in their arms. Then, the police woman ask the little girl
"Are you sure? You're not lying?"
The little girl grumbled and said
"I'm not lying. Mommy said that it's bad to lie"
The police woman looked at her mother. And the woman nodded and said
"I taught her not to lie. So she will not lie to me"
The police woman nodded and looked at her colleague. Then, they heard the mother asked her daughter
"My baby. Can you tell me what happened?"
The little girl nodded as she was carried by her mother to the chair. Then, she started talking about what had happened. She told them about their meeting, her comforting and when they arrived
The little girl said
"Then, when we got here. She hugged me tightly and said that I didn't need power. I just need to make people smile. She said that's my power. Then, she said to me before leaving"
The little girl looked at the handkerchief in her hand and smiled
"Live happily! Little one!"
The mother's expression turned complicated. No matter how the mysterious woman saved and blessed her child, she's still afraid of the unknown. She had sniffed her smell kilometers away and accurately found her. She felt that it's not in the realm of normalcy. It's abnormal… and horrifying
The police officer records the details while the police woman escorted the mother and child out of the police station after the procedure. While the police woman was outside, the police officer inside put down his pen as he finished his work. Now, he walked out of the room and went towards the surveillance room. Then, checked the footage of the sniffing woman
Before he even played it, the door opened and his colleague entered
"I already sent them off. By the way, are you looking at the footage? What a creepy story"
The man nodded and said
"Here. Take a look"
They both turned their attention to the feed and saw that the girl's statements match what is shown in the footage. The woman in a turtle neck with a sling bag hugged the little girl and said something to her. Then, the woman stood up and waved at her before walking away
The face of the woman was not clearly defined, but based on her appearance. She looked pretty and her body was perfectly proportioned. The man can already tell that she's a stunner from the feed alone. Then, the police woman said to him
"Move the time to where they first appeared"
The man nodded and they watched as the two first arrived. Then, they noticed that the sniffing woman was looking up. To where the sign was. And soon looked at the surveillance camera. The man paused the video and the two felt that the sniffing woman was staring directly at them
A chill ran down their spine and their hair stood on end. The police woman gasp from fear as she really thought that the sniffing woman was not looking at the camera, she felt that she's looking directly at them
Then, the two didn't speak for a moment before the man said
"She's beautiful. But also creepy"
The police woman nodded and asked her colleague
"What do we do now? Do we track her?"
The man scoffed
"For what? Why would we waste our time looking for a creepy woman?"
The man then sighed and said
"Just leave it. She helped someone, that's what matters"
Then, he stood up and walked towards the door. The police woman looked at the sniffing woman's figure on the screen before turning it off. Then, she catch up with his colleague
"We now have a story to tell to our colleagues. The sniffing woman"
The man chuckles and said
"That's right. Our drinking parties will be much more fun"
The two walked towards their stations and they chatted along the way. What they didn't know however, was that the story of the sniffing woman will become the most mysterious incident in the history of police force. And will be told countless times in the future
