It was evening now.
The pool party had finally burned itself out.
The music faded into background noise. The crowd had thinned to just a few people. The air was cool now. The crazy energy that had once pulsed through the resort now settled into something quieter.
Zuri stepped out of the pool, a towel slung over her shoulder, her black hair damp and clinging to her skin.
She didn't say much — just walked toward the building, her steps steady and purposeful.
Behind her followed Leon, stretching with a satisfied groan, his voice still buzzing with adrenaline.
"That party was lit. Like, way better than I thought it'd be."
Joren and Lana emerged just behind him, walking side by side. Joren ran a hand through his damp hair, still grinning.
"Yeah. It definetely exceeded my expectations."
Zuri gave him a sidelong glance as he spoke, brief and unreadable. Then she looked forward again, her expression smooth.
Lana didn't notice. Or maybe she did and chose not to say anything.
