The backlash hurled the Howler flying away as if struck by an invisible hammer. It crashed through two trees, splintering wood and scattering leaves before slamming to a brutal stop.
A mouthful of blood spilled from its mouth, dark and heavy as it splattered across the forest floor.
Yet the madness in its eyes didn't fade.
Snarling, trembling, it forced itself back up, ready to throw its broken body into the fight again while the golem still remained restrained.

The Gravelback Howler froze mid-step. Its breath hitched as a violent tremor ran through its frame. It suddenly spat another mouthful of blood. Slowly, unsteadily, it glanced down at its own chest—
A black claw was jutting out, pierced clean through its chest from behind.
Held within those metallic talons was a round, faintly pulsing object, its grey, veiny surface slick with blood.
