When Uraan's Raven cast [Moonsight] to make the panther more visible, it simply didn't work.
This was because the Raven's rank was too low, only Low 3-star compared to the Mid 4-star Voidfang Panther.
As the fight continued, they realised that there was no presence of the second beast.

In other words, they could focus on one beast at a time.
