"Ahh... trying to act tough, huh? Or... maybe you already have eyes for someone who's present right now?"
.....
Sunny stopped for a second.
'How the...' He somehow managed to control his expression. Seems like all that time as Master Sunless helped him practice keeping a straight face quite a bit.
Nephis was as composed as ever.
Thankfully, that wasn't a question—so he didn't have to answer. Though, he still had to say something.
He sighed.
"No, I'm not acting tough or anything. Why would I like what I see? I'm not some horny teenager! And no, I don't have eyes for anyone who's present here or not present here." He didn't have eyes for anyone.
Effie chuckled and waved.
"Yeah, yeah, like I'd believe you."
With that, they again slowly made their way toward the Bright Castle.
Though Cassie...
She turned toward Sunny's voice direction, then back to Nephis direction.
'Eyes for someone who's present right now...' she muttered softly. She knew a hundred percent it wasn't her. But those two... yeah, they could have something.
'But... yeah, there's a chance they like each other, but definitely haven't confessed yet. Anyway, this isn't the time to think about it. Our situation's not exactly ideal for romance.'
And Nephis... was laughing inside while maintaining an expressionless face.
...
They finally reached the outer settlement.
It was just as bad as they remembered—like slums. And no, we're not wasting time describing the same thing again as the novel.
They said goodbye to Effie and went directly toward the Bright Castle. Though, people were looking at Nephis even more than before—because she'd become more beautiful by her sealed Supreme Status.
And it was making Sunny mad as hell.
'Why they looking at her!? Those perverts don't have better things to do!? Like die or something!? How dare they look at her like that!'
He didn't show it on his face, but every now and then, he'd glare at people who looked at her too long—scaring them off with a touch of his will. Those people didn't even know why sudden fear gripped them.
And... Nephis had a similar reaction. Because other girls were looking at him!
He was a thousand times more handsome than before, and she hated how much attention he was getting.
She sighed.
'It would've been better if he didn't become this handsome. Who told him to become this damn attractive!? If he wasn't, then no one except me would look at him—and that would be perfect! Because only I can do that!'
Though, when she noticed how he was glaring at people who staring at her, her anger dimmed a little.
'Well... it doesn't matter anyway. He'll only be mine.'
With that, they entered the Bright Castle.
The guards didn't say anything filthy this time—somehow, fear gripped their hearts the moment they passed.
They went to the reception desk and met Harper.
Sunny decided to not make a mistake like last time and not to kill him again.
Hearing this, Sunny fell deep into thought and said,
They didn't dwell on it further—knowing it was useless to guess without clues.
Harper then guided them to the quietest area of the castle for their rooms while explaining the castle's rules, structure, and basic information—things they already knew.
Though... he kept throwing glances toward Nephis. And it made Sunny reconsider his plan to not kill Harper.
...
They took two rooms—one for Sunny, another for Cassie and Nephis.
Sunny was lying on his bed, staring at the ceiling with nothing better to do.
After a moment, she replied,
<...Yes. And Cass already fall asleep.>
He hesitated before saying,
Nephis sighed in her room.
Sunny thought for a bit. They didn't want to reveal their relationship yet.
They talked for a while, about their tomorrow plans, future and past moments and then went to sleep.
In the morning, they woke up, got fresh and ready, then went to the cafeteria for breakfast together.
They entered the hall, grabbed their food, and settled at a corner table.
Though the moment they entered—every single pair of eyes turned toward them.
And, of course, every mothe—... person in there was throwing glances at Nephis.
Worst part? Sunny couldn't glare at that many people at once! So he have let them take glances that he doesn't like at all.
Some were also looking at Cassie too, of course.
'These monk—... these bastards don't have anything better to do!? Be creepy all day!? They don't have mothers or sisters—or are they just as disgusting!?'
Meanwhile, females were glancing at him too—but he didn't care.
He calmed down and began eating breakfast.
The trio chatted about random stuff—Cassie and Nephis talked about Kai's songs, music, and such. Sunny joined in occasionally, now that he wasn't as clueless as before.
They were having breakfast peacefully... until trouble arrived.
'Sigh... I knew this would happen.'
Two rough-looking young men suddenly stood up from their benches and walked across the hall toward them, unpleasant excitement burning in their eyes.
They were staring at Cassie and Nephis.
Sunny gritted his teeth.
Nephis said though telepathy.
He looked at her strangely, realizing he hadn't told her about this yet. He had forgotten—probably because of how unimportant it was.
Sunny didn't even nodded. Before he can tell her that he already faced this situation, those two Gunlaug's gang soldiers reached them.
The Sleepers sitting nearby turned away with heavy expressions—clearly afraid and uncomfortable.
As those two guards reached them, they were practically undressing Cassie and Nephis with their eyes.
One of them licked his lips.
Sunny almost snapped.
'...You know what? Politeness can go to hell!'
He turned toward them, opened his mouth, and said—
"Where you motherfing mo*key a** bi*hes think you're staring at!? You hrny degenertes sh*ts!!"
...
Entire hall is in silence. No one move or talk, trying to process what had happened.
Nephis wanted to facepalm so freaking bad right now.
