Chapter 48 - Chapter 48

Early Morning – Gojo's Apartment, Chiba, Tokyo

The faint glow of sunrise crept into the large apartment.

Gojo Satoru slowly opened his eyes, letting out an unrestrained yawn. His silver lashes flickered under the soft light, and he rubbed his temples lazily.

Turning his head, he saw Subaru Mitejima lying next to him, naked, still fast asleep. Her golden hair spilled across the pillow as she clutched his arm tightly, her breathing light and steady.

Gojo smirked faintly.

Last night… really was bloody.

Carefully easing his arm free from her grip, he slid out of bed and padded over to the closet. He pulled out a fresh pair of pants, buttoned them on, and crossed to the window. With a single motion, he pushed it open.

The crisp morning air flooded the room, chasing away the… strange lingering scent of the night before.

Gojo inhaled deeply, stretching his long arms.

"Mhm… morning already?"

A soft, drowsy voice floated from the bed. Subaru stirred, her eyes fluttering open to find Gojo standing by the window, sunlight outlining his tall frame.

"Good morning, Satoru~," she murmured, her lips curling into a gentle smile.

Gojo turned back slightly. "Did I wake you?"

Subaru shook her head, her blonde locks tumbling down her shoulders. "Not at all."

Her smile deepened. She had been thinking about this moment for a long time. And now, she had given her first time to him. There was no regret in her expression.

Gojo returned her smile with his usual casual air. He pulled on a crisp white shirt, tucking only half of it into his pants, then sat down on the edge of the bed, one leg crossed over the other.

"So… what do you want for breakfast?" he asked.

Subaru tilted her head, teasing. "Anything you make. Just don't poison me, alright?"

"Hah, as if." Gojo chuckled, reaching out to ruffle her silky golden hair. "I can't say no to you anyway."

For the first time, he allowed a softness to linger in his eyes. After all, Subaru wasn't just any woman now—she was his first.

Off to the side, if Hiratsuka-sensei had been watching, she'd already be cracking her knuckles: "Gojo! Say hello to my fist?!"

Gojo stood, buttoned his cuffs, and gave her a small nod before heading for the door. "Stay put. I'll make something, quick."

"Mm. Don't be long," Subaru replied, stretching her delicate body. Despite some stiffness from some...causes, she still looked effortlessly graceful.

The moment Gojo stepped out into the living room, he was met by a familiar scene.

His younger sister, Gojo Umaru, was sitting on the sofa with puffed-up cheeks, glaring daggers his way.

When her brother appeared, she turned her head with a sharp "hmph," though her face flushed red at the same time.

'Damn these apartments! Soundproofing is trash!' she thought angrily, remembering the… noises she overheard last night.

"What's wrong, Umaru?" Gojo teased, pretending to not notice, as he pulled open the fridge. He grabbed a pack of quail eggs and a bottle of sake.

Umaru's face flared deeper red. "Don't ask, you stinky brother! Just hurry up and make breakfast—I still have to go to school!"

"Yes yes, ma'am~." Gojo grinned, strolling into the kitchen without a hint of embarrassment. His skin was thicker than steel armor.

As he cracked the eggs into a bowl, he thought to himself, Today's breakfast should be something comforting… especially for Subaru.

He whisked the eggs into a fragrant soup, sprinkling in goji berries and red dates—something he remembered from his "previous life."

From the sofa, Umaru pouted harder.

I was here first… but I'm just his sister.

Her eyes darkened slightly, but before she could brood too long, a new voice interrupted.

"Good morning, Umaru-chan!"

Subaru Mitejima appeared, stepping lightly into the living room. She waved casually, though her voice carried a hoarseness that made Umaru's face burn scarlet.

'Elegant beauty on the outside… and last night she sounded like that?!' Umaru screamed inwardly, hugging a cushion to her chest.

Gojo, of course, pretended not to notice, busying himself with plating breakfast.

...

Later – On the Way to Sobu High,

Meanwhile, elsewhere in Chiba, another scene unfolded.

Kitagawa Marin (the cheerful gyaru known as a fashionista among students) walked down the busy street. A designer handbag hung from her arm, and her long blonde hair shone under the morning light.

Her fashionable outfit drew plenty of stares from passing Sobu High students.

"Wow, who's that? She's gorgeous."

"She must be from our school, look at the uniform lining… but I don't remember her at all."

"You don't remember? With a face like that, I'd definitely remember!"

"Maybe she's new? Either way, I'm gonna try asking her out."

"You? Hah, dream on."

Their chatter followed Marin all the way into the school gates.

But soon she realized—she had no idea where her classroom was. The entrance signs for first-year classes had already been removed.

"Crap… where's Class 1-F?" Marin muttered, twirling in confusion.

Just then, she spotted a girl with long silver-white hair walking ahead. Without hesitation, she jogged up and tapped her shoulder.

"Hey, classmate! Do you know where Class 1-F is?"

The girl turned. It was Shirakawa Shiroha—or rather, Shirakawa Shiroha from another mixed world—Her pale blue eyes blinked softly.

"Actually… I was looking for Class 1-F too," she admitted with a sheepish smile.

"Eh?! Really? Then we're classmates!" Marin beamed, her energy exploding. "I'm Kitagawa Marin! Nice to meet you!"

"Shirakawa Shiroha. Please take care of me."

"Can I call you Shiroha-chan?"

"That's fine, Marin-san."

The two linked up naturally, chatting as they walked.

"So why are you late to school, Shiroha-chan?" Marin asked.

"I just returned to Japan recently, then transferred here," she explained politely. "What about you?"

"Ahaha… I got into a car accident right after school started. Spent weeks in the hospital. It was a pain."

Shiroha's eyes widened. "Are you okay now?"

"Yep! All healed." Marin grinned.

The two laughed together, still wandering in search of their elusive classroom.

And then—

"Yo~! My two cute students, good morning."

Both girls froze at the familiar voice.

They turned around to see Gojo Satoru, strolling casually through the school courtyard. His white shirt was crisp, but instead of his usual blindfold, he wore a pair of sleek black sunglasses.

"Gojo-sensei?!" the two chorused in disbelief.

Gojo grinned, hands in his pockets. "Heh. Looks like fate's brought me and my students all in one place."
