Sobu High School – Diving Club Room (Lunch Break)
"Pshhh…"
Just as before, the moment Kitahara Iori tried to gulp down the alcohol—the liquid didn't go where it was supposed to.
Instead, it sprayed right back out, flowing neatly into the empty glass that Gojo Satoru was holding under his chin.
The scene looked almost magical. Or ridiculous. Or both.
Within seconds, the empty glass was completely full again.
Kitahara wiped his mouth dramatically and slammed the table again.
"Ahhh—! So refreshing! I finished it!"
He roared proudly as if he had finally completed the assignment that was biting the dust on his table.
Around the table—
Everyone didn't say anything and just stared at the clown.
Stare…
Stare…
Stare…
The members of the Diving Club looked at him like they were witnessing a clown performance.
One student whispered.
"…Did he just… drink air?"
Another muttered.
"…Is that even possible?"
But Gojo Satoru calmly pushed the full glass back in front of Kitahara.
His black glasses hid his eyes, but the smile on his face was extremely suspicious.
"Come on. Have another drink."
Kitahara blinked, as he complain. "You're still making me drink?!"
But as if his drunken pride (that he didn't think he even had) immediately flared up.
"Fine! Bring it on!"
Kitahara grabbed the cup again and poured it into his mouth dramatically.
This time he tried to swallow seriously.
But Gojo had already lifted the empty cup underneath again.
Three seconds later—
The cup was full.
Again!
"....."
The clubroom fell silent.
Tokita Shinji slowly leaned closer to Ryujiro.
"…what Is the teacher doing?"
Kotobuki Ryujiro whispered back.
"I don't know."
Meanwhile—
Kitahara waved his hands awkwardly.
"Okay, okay! Let's just play cards! You can't make me drink forever!"
His face showed a strange expression of drunken embarrassment.
In response, Gojo shrugged casually.
"Sure."
He set the full glass aside like it was completely normal, closed to Kitahara.
Then began shuffling the cards again.
But the gazes of the diving club members nearby had changed.
They were staring at the glass like hungry wolves.
For them—
Alcohol was more important than life itself.
Seeing so much alcohol go to waste was almost painful.
The next round started.
Cards flew across the table.
After another game—
The results were announced.
Losers were Kitahara Iori and Tokita Shinji.
Again!
No one even remembered how many times they had lost anymore....
Just as Kitahara was about to drink again—
"Wait!"
He suddenly spoke as his expression became extremely serious.
His eyes focused intensely on the glass in front of him.
The room became quiet.
'Did he finally notice something?'
Everyone thought the same thing.
But then—
Kitahara raised his head with a dissatisfied expression.
"Why does my glass look fuller than Shinji's? I refuse to accept this!"
"...."
Silence.
Absolute silence.
Someone whispered to the person besides them.
"…That's what you noticed?"
Tokita Shinji scratched his head and placed his glass next to Kitahara's.
"Let's compare."
The two glasses sat side by side.
Ryujiro leaned over.
"Hmmm…Looks about the same to me."
Kitahara squinted his eyes.
"No. This one definitely has more."
Tokita sighed as he said, a little exasperated, "You're drunk."
Kitahara decided to ignored him, as his head first leaned left...then leaned right.
Before, he bent down and stared at the glasses from below.
The scene looked extremely ridiculous to the surrounding students.
After watching for a few seconds—
Gojo suddenly spoke. "Oh, is it that troublesome? Let me help."
He reached into his pocket.
Then pulled out a small infrared pen!
Everyone blinked, when someone asked,
"…Why do you carry that?"
Gojo ignored it.
He pointed the red light toward the two glasses.
A faint red glow spread across the table.
Gojo nodded seriously after seeing the results.
"See? It's obvious. His glass has more than yours."
Kitahara stared at the glasses again.
"Oh! You're right!"
Without hesitation—
He picked up the glass and began drinking again.
This time—
Gojo did not place a cup underneath.
Which resulted in—
All the alcohol spilled directly down Kitahara's shirt.
"Glug—cough—!"
The liquid soaked his school uniform, making it wet and a little transparent as his entire chest became sticky.
Kitahara looked down.
"…Ugh."
Without hesitation—
He pulled off his shirt.
The muscular upper body of the diving club member was revealed instantly.
"Continue!"
Someone shouted from behind, a little excited...
{T/N: ....💀}
"You're drinking fake alcohol and still want to continue?!"
Another member yelled at the guy but couldn't found who said it.
But the game continued anyway.
Several rounds later—
Kitahara was holding his glass in his left hand while his right hand waved around drunkenly.
"It's over…It's over…I can't do it anymore…"
His face was completely red.
"I drank too much…Let's continue next time…"
He slowly stood up.
Then raised his glass dramatically.
"The first toast…"
He waved his hand.
"To Sensei!"
Half the alcohol spilled, due to how shaky his hand were.
"The second toast…To Ryujiro-senpai!"
More alcohol spilled.
Only half remained.
"The third toast...To Shinji-senpai!"
Now only a quarter remained.
Then he raised the glass towards his mouth.
"And the final toast…To ME!"
He tired to drink the wine...with a closed mouth which resulted in him getting splashed by the wine onto his face.
"Ahhh…So refreshing—!"
Before he could finish—
Gojo suddenly raised his leg and....
Whack!
Then kicked him lightly.
"Idiot! You spilled all the alcohol in the classroom."
Kitahara fell backward because of the kick, the other students look at the poor guy as they picked him up (he was unconscious) and then took him toward the corner of the room.
Gojo after kicking the student also stood up, as he walked towards the poor guy. He hadn't actually drunk a single drop!
The other members didn't even try to stop him, they even get away from his way.
They had all had began to realized something.
This white-haired teacher was terrifyingly good at cards.
He almost never lost.
If they continued playing—
The only ones losing would be them!
Meanwhile—
Kitahara crouched in the corner holding his dizzy head, he had woken up after one student slashed him with water.
His head was heavy due, while his face looked miserable.
"Hey kid." Gojo walked over, showing a concern expression, "Are you okay?"
Kitahara slowly raised his blurry eyes.
When he saw Gojo's concerned expression—He suddenly felt touched. Even forgetting that he was kicked by him...
"I'm fine, Sensei…I just drank a little too much. But Sensei…" He smiled a little, "You're really good at poker. You should know…In middle school…I was really good at cards!"
Gojo nodded seriously. "Impressive."
Even though the boy was clearly drunk and bragging—
Gojo still crouched beside him kindly. Then he handed him a bottle. "Here. Drink some oolong tea. It will help you sober up."
Kitahara nodded gratefully.
"Thank you…"
He raised the bottle and drank.
Then—
His eyes widened.
His entire body froze.
He slowly placed the bottle on the ground.
His face turned blank.
Then he pulled out a lighter.
Click!
A small flame appeared.
He held the lighter under the bottle opening.
Whoosh!
A faint flame flickered.
Kitahara screamed.
"WHAT IS THIS?! WHAT KIND OF OOLONG TEA BURNS?!"
At that moment—
Another student approached.
He had medium-length blond hair.
This was Kohei Imamura, who was hiding behind the students and he was safe until now since Iori too had forgotten that he was here.
"Sensei…Why are you making Iori drink that?" He sighed dramatically. Then handed Kitahara another bottle. "Here. Drink some boiled water instead."
He spoke with a sympathetic expression.
"You're really unlucky, Iori."
Kitahara sighed with emotions. "You're the best, Kohei...Actually…I dragged you into the Diving Club. I'm sorry, Kohei."
Kohei nodded.
"It's okay. Drink it quickly and dilute the alcohol."
Kitahara raised the bottle again.
"Alright."
He drank.
One second later—
The world seem to have turned gray as Kitahara stared blankly at the bottle.
Then took out the lighter again.
Click.
A small flame burned again as the situation was the same as earlier.
He screamed. "You bastard! You're trying to kill me!"
Kohei burst into laughter as he heard his complain, open his mouth wide like a demon, "Hahaha! Who told you to drag me into the club?! You want plain water?! In this economy, keep dreaming!"
The two stood up and faced each other.
Their faces became exaggerated Titan-like expressions.
"YOU TRAITOR!"
"YOU IDIOT!"
They roared at each other dramatically.
Meanwhile—
Gojo stood nearby watching with sparkling eyes.
"Ah…So this is youth."
He looked deeply moved as he watch two of the students try to choked each other, while the other students had even started to bet on who would give up first.
They were all enjoying the brosome moment. When suddenly—
The clubroom door burst open.
"YOU IDIOTS FROM THE DIVING CLUB! ARE YOU DRINKING AGAIN?!"
A furious female voice echoed the room as the cheer of the students died out.
Standing at the doorway—
With blazing eyes—Was Hiratsuka Shizuka. She had just finished her lunch when she heard the complaint of the students about the Driving club.
She couldn't just leave them like that when all the teachers were busy!
{T/N: Just before everyone asked the plan to drink was for the night, Gojo had just said it as a joke...}
"HIRATSUKA-SENSEI?!"
The diving club members panicked instantly, as the students hide the half-empty bottles behind them. They looked around desperately.
Instinctively—
They searched for the white-haired teacher who had been sitting nearby.
But…
Gojo Satoru was gone.
No one knew when he had disappeared.
The only strange thing left behind—
Was the open window.
As a cool breeze blew through the room.
