Chapter 74: Sharingan: Copy!
Tsukasa planted his feet, swung his Water Fang Blade, and
With a single Uchiha-Style Iai Slash, severed all three water whips instantly.
Then he leaned forward, flicked his wrist, and hurled the Water Fang Blade.
The three Hunter-nin were completely unprepared for Tsukasa to simply throw the technique.
An ordinary kunai instantly became an enchanted projectile.
Seeing the spiraling water blade wrapped around it,
They didn't dare block with ordinary kunai and could only scatter in different directions.
Witnessing this, Tsukasa felt like an entirely new world had opened up before him, his tactical options expanding dramatically.
This Mighty Brick Flying Technique—combined with ninjutsu to create blades at will—was incredibly effective.
He quickly drew another kunai, formed seals, created a Water Fang Blade around it, and gave chase.
The three Hunter-nin couldn't help but curse internally:
"This kid exclusively uses projectile techniques! He finally uses a ninjutsu and he still makes it function like a thrown weapon! Seriously, you bastard—you're not even a proper shinobi at all!"
They formed hand seals while retreating, preparing to give Tsukasa a devastating counterattack.
However, what they didn't expect was
Tsukasa—who should have been behind them—was now ahead of them.
He stepped on a concentrated sphere of water, leaned back, and pulled black wire threads with both hands, gliding across the water's surface like a sharp arrow.
Water Release: Water Sliding Technique!
This was a Water Release ninjutsu that concentrated water flow at the feet for rapid movement. Even on dry ground, it could achieve high-speed gliding effects.
After Mei Terumi transformed the terrain into a water battlefield, this technique dramatically enhanced his mobility.
Landing before the three Hunter-nin,
Tsukasa executed a sweeping leg strike, unleashing water blade slashes. Then he flipped mid-air and drew the Water Fang Blade.
Using the physical combat techniques he'd copied from Kakuzu, combined with the water blade enhanced by both Water Release: Water Fang Blade and Chakra Flow—
He swiftly cut through the three in a circular slashing motion.
With one strike, a crimson-blue crescent appeared!
Two were instantly cut down.
The third narrowly evaded, his expression sharp, as he attempted to form hand seals for some jutsu.
However, Tsukasa's eyes locked onto him.
His Sharingan focused, the two tomoe spinning rapidly, analyzing the seals the opponent was forming and the direction of his chakra flow.
He mimicked them, forming his own hand seals:
Snake-Ram-Monkey-Rabbit-Ram-Monkey-Rabbit!
Even faster than his opponent!
"Damn brat—die!" The Hunter-nin roared furiously, suddenly raising his hand.
"Water Release: Water Prison Technique!"
However, an even faster roar echoed back:
"Water Release: Water Prison Technique!"
Tsukasa suddenly raised his hand, executing Water Release: Water Prison Technique half a second before the fool in front of him.
A sphere of water instantly expanded from his palm, engulfing the man and trapping him inside.
"Glub, glub, glub!"
The Hunter-nin's eyes widened in shock as he choked on a mouthful of water, his hands and feet flailing wildly.
He thought: You're an Uchiha—how are you better at Water Release than us Kirigakure shinobi?! Where's your Fire Release?! Did you abandon it completely?!
Only then did Tsukasa finally release a breath of relief, wiping sweat from his forehead. His heart still pounding, he quickly grabbed his Water Fang Blade and stabbed it into the water sphere, delivering the finishing blow.
If it weren't for that idiot's verbal warning, his two-tomoe Sharingan wouldn't have been able to copy the ninjutsu faster than the opponent.
That really scared me—I almost thought I was going to die.
Fortunately, I'm slightly more skilled!
In the environment created by Water Release: Kirisame, all techniques except Water Release were weakened. If he kept using Earth Release: Earth Spear, his chakra would obviously fail to keep pace with consumption.
So he could only risk using Water Release and Taijutsu to handle his opponents.
But the unexpected heart upgrade not only restored his Water Release affinity, but also granted him deeper understanding of Water Release applications.
A pleasant surprise indeed.
At this point, only one Hunter-nin remained on the battlefield—the one maintaining the secret technique.
He'd only heard a mixture of clashing sounds and shouting outside before everything went quiet.
The silence terrified him, cold sweat breaking out as he could only pray for his teammates' rescue.
But then, the mist began dissipating.
A young man covered in blood pierced through the fog, wielding his blade in a beautiful, shimmering water blade flourish.
"You—you!" The Hunter-nin maintaining the secret technique tensed every muscle, cold sweat instantly drenching his back.
His expression beneath the mask was pure fear. He immediately ceased maintaining the Water Release: Kirisame seals and retreated hesitantly.
Tsukasa, however, said nothing to him. He turned and ran back into the mist,
The clattering of his footsteps echoing around the Hunter-nin's position. The psychological pressure was immense—like a predator stalking him through the fog.
The Hunter-nin glanced around nervously, suddenly alert, and shouted,
"Mangetsu—save me!"
At that moment, a water blade suddenly pierced through the mist.
Elsewhere on the battlefield,
A sweat-drenched Mei Terumi constantly formed hand seals and unleashed techniques to block Mangetsu's advances.
Her combat style was that of an artillery-type shinobi with vast chakra reserves. Her jutsu fired like machine guns—
Unleashing constant streams of Water Release and Lava Release techniques. Furthermore, in this enclosed environment, she could deploy Boiling Release that blended with the surrounding white mist for area denial.
Regardless of effectiveness, she aimed to suppress the enemy with overwhelming firepower, buying time before her chakra reserves depleted.
However, a voice from within the fog and the sudden cessation of Kirisame
Caused both combatants to look up in surprise.
Those were five Hunter-nin!
Five skilled operatives! Even if they charged recklessly one after another, they shouldn't have been defeated this quickly, right?
And how long had it even been?
One minute? Two?
Mangetsu frowned, dove into the water, and vanished instantly.
Whoosh!
Seizing his opponent's distraction, Tsukasa launched his fierce water blade.
He'd already withdrawn his ninja blade from another Hunter-nin's throat,
And immediately slid forward on the water's surface toward the remaining enemy. He was about to quickly finish the battle and rush to support Mei Terumi.
However, at that moment,
A sharp sound suddenly tore through the air.
A high-velocity water bullet shot forth, piercing Tsukasa's thrown water blade.
The kunai embedded within was struck with precision, deflecting it away.
Then a white-haired figure suddenly erupted from the water and stabbed toward Tsukasa's back.
Facing this fatal threat, Tsukasa felt his scalp prickle.
Instinctively, he executed a defensive blade technique he'd only seen in videos from his previous life—wrapping the sword over his shoulder to block the strike from behind.
CLANG!
Sparks flew!
"This kid's reaction speed is incredible?"
Hōzuki Mangetsu raised his eyebrows slightly but didn't overthink it. He immediately activated his Great Water Arm Technique to increase his strength and forced the blade to continue stabbing forward.
However, with that brief buffer,
Tsukasa had already activated Earth Release: Earth Spear to harden the section of his back about to be struck.
Without Kirisame's weakening effect, this hardening technique's defensive power was absolutely off the charts!
CRACK!
Hōzuki Mangetsu felt like he'd stabbed a diamond even harder than before—
The blade actually snapped and broke with a sharp crack.
Tsukasa immediately seized this opportunity and cut down the Hunter-nin before him with his sword.
Then he turned around and sneered at Hōzuki Mangetsu, who stood dumbfounded while holding his broken blade:
"You're the Kirigakure prodigy, right? What's wrong—didn't eat your breakfast?"
